The reviews here, especially from out-of-state folks, are kind of ridiculous. I've been getting my hair cut here for years (shout-out Melissa D), and have had nothing but awesome experiences. My friends all go here as well and all have had good experiences. Read through the reviews, they are certainly strange: "They did not give me a discount" or "I have an eye allergy but didn't bother reminding the person before my appointment". Salon 180 is a really chill spot to get your hair done, and in my experience, they certainly deliver all they are promising. read more

Unacceptable - did horrible job at cutting my hair and refused to see me - it would have taken 15 minutes to add some extra layers - and as I'm not from here which she knew, I couldn't come in a week- so instead of staying a little late and spending time adding layers to a flat utter mess sge choose to ignore the issue. I went for my first time there, saw Kelsey, she told me the back of my hair was very uneven, but one side was shorter than the other and she wouldn't cut to match the other side. If you are looking for curly-trained stylists, go to Salon 180! The vibe is awesome, the owner Carissa is wonderful, and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. You'll find top of the line products with lots of CGM options. I love my curly cuts and balayage do's. Also, they have special sinks that do not hurt your neck when your hair is washed- I've never found this anywhere else. Definitely consider switching to Salon 180 East! read more

BRIDES BEWARE! I came here for a bridal hair and makeup trial and I am incredibly upset with what was done and I was scammed out of $145. I came across this salon as it's received "best of" accolades and the reviews are very good. I decided to give it a try since it's close to where I am getting married and it seemed legit with the bridal packages they offer. I had a good experience with the person I corresponded with back and forth via email as she was thorough, asked for inspo pictures, and listed prices for me but it doesn't seem as though this information was passed along to the stylist or she just didn't care. I will not name the stylist I was paired with as maybe she was having a bad day (then she should have gone home.) She barely spoke (my friend referred to her as "a wet towel") and didn't check-in while she was applying my makeup and doing my hair. I couldn't believe it when she handed me the mirror when she was done with my face as all she did was slather on foundation and concealer and applied fake lashes (which had to keep being re-glued and fell off on my drive home.) I do a better job myself for my every day makeup and this wasn't at all what I showed or described to her what I was looking for. As for the hair my inspo is a Meghan Markle low bun, side braid with wispy loose curls in the front - a fairly popular look right now. The only thing she did that my friend and I liked was the braid. The curled pieces in the front were horridly thick, not soft and romantic, AND SHE FAILED TO PUT IN MY HAIR PIECE which my friend even went back out to the car to get. Again, the stylist barely spoke at all and my friend even prompted her a few times to interact with me. When she was done with the services she just walked away. Seriously. Bye. I went up to the counter to check-out and seriously debated even leaving her a tip (I did). There was no conversation if I was happy with the services, no talk about the deposit to reserve the wedding day, nothing. I drove a total of 4 hours, used a half a tank of gas, and gave the salon $145 for absolutely nothing. Nothing was accomplished by coming here. read more

My first visit to Salon 180 and am I satisfied! First of all let's talk about parking, not going to NoHo anymore to get my nails or my hair or my massage or my beers... I'm going to get them all right here in Easthampton! Parking lot outback get you into Mill 180 so easily. Don't worry about the front parking. Then Spa 180 was really perfect. Hot tea, no head banging music, LOTS of sunshine and friendly staff. Mary did my nails. She was great. Nails were a winter MESS and they are cleaned up and ready for Spring! And she was CREATIVE!! do not go to Melissa for color services. I wanted to go from darker to a lighter brown. she gave me blonde hair that turned yellow/orange two days later. Had to go back to get a glaze which completely washed out to orange again less than a week later. She then posted on instagram a petty story about going from dark to light, and said it's a "process" after she explicitly told me it'd be done it one session. I had to go back a third time to get the color corrected, saw Kayla and she was amazing and actually listened to me. $400 later my hair is fried. Don't go to Melissa she does not know what she is doing with color services. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Sadly, I was not happy with the results I got. While very sweet and kind, the stylist Alyx just didn't hit the mark. For $180 (!!) I expected better. Color: Asked for lowlights to my previously balayaged hair to get me back to a more natural root color and to get the brassiness out. While I'm happy with the overall color, it came out Very violet in places which I didn't notice until I got out into the sunshine. Alyx said it'd be cooler than I wanted at first but would mellow out. This was very frustrating because I had family portraits taken the day next and my hair looks purple in the photos. Now 6 washes later and there's still definitely a violet/grey color. Not at all what I was looking for. Cut: I wanted more layers in the back and for the bottom to be "between a V and a U" shape. It looks pretty straight and blunt to me, with uneven layers. read more

I used to go here until there were a couple incidents and I stopped. I just ghosted them and went somewhere else, but always wondered if I should have told them the reason I left. Here goes: the skin around my eyebrows is sensitive and I always remind the stylist that I cannot have cream around my eyes. I also am dependent on my eyeglasses. Despite my reminder, the stylist put cream around my eyebrows and I didn't see this until it was too late. I say something but is sure it is a mistake, so no big deal. Huge itchy rash on my eyebrows for a week. The next time I call for an appointment, I get pushed 2 weeks out. Very unusual but maybe they got busy. I get my eyebrows done. I remind the same stylist and despite my diligence in trying to watch for cream, she puts it on again. When I say I cannot take cream on my eyebrows, she says "I can't help what you are allergic to." No apology. No remorse. Never went back. Always wondered if the stylist thought I didn't go back because I had trouble getting an appointment. read more

I do not recommend this salon. I had a 2nd appointment scheduled but then needed to cancel the morning of the appointment due to a medical emergency for my pet. I called as soon as I realized that the only available vet appointment conflicted with the scheduled time. I asked to reschedule. I was told they were sorry for my circumstances, but I still had to pay a $95 fee to cancel my appointment. Their treatment and attitude during a challenging time are not appreciated. read more

I went to get an eyebrow tint, having gone to many places in the past I had some high expectations about this appointment. (Especially with the cost) Upon arrival, I was lead to the back to get my eyebrows tinted. The lady did not treat me with any sort of importance or regard. I was not greeted by the eyebrow technician. She was very careless and sloppy when applying the tint, after waiting about 10 minutes she came back to remove the tint. When removing the tint she got product into my eyes and this irritated and burned my eyes. After this I was told she was done, and when checking out I was charged more than the online price stated. After being overcharged, they even had the audacity to ask for a tip and I was given a rude look when declining after already overpaying for such a shoddy job. They had not even given me a mirror to see the terrible job done. Once I got back in my vehicle, the true horror set in. Two dark uneven eye brows stared back at me, and tint was all over my forehead. It was almost like a two year old took a marker to my face. There was tint all outside the lines. I was mortified. I was very close to running back in and demanding a full refund but decided it was better off to warn anyone about this horrible business. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to go to this salon. Salons are a place to go to make oneself feel better, even without having seen the job done I left feeling much worse. I am very emotionally distraught over this and feel very uncomfortable and insecure now that I know I must look like my face was attacked by a marker for the next two weeks. You'd be better off lighting your money on fire than even thinking about spending a dollar here. My technician was so unprofessional and careless I think a three year old could've done a better job. This is a poorly run, poorly managed, terrible place it feels like a crime to call this dumpster fire a salon. When I arrived home my concerned mother was worried about what appeared to be swelling above my eye. Now I am experiencing side effects which I have never had any before, such as the previously mentioned swelling and now eyebrows hairs are falling out. I have been scrubbing my eye brows with alcohol to help make them appear better with mixed results. Would rate this business a 0 if I could. read more

After seemingly endless amounts of research about where in western ma should i get my curly (3a porous) hair done, i stumbled across salon 180 east! I requested a full foil and deva cut, later changing the foil to balayage (to no issue, the stylist, mary, was super accommodating) and i had a great experience! My stylist, Mary Yang, was super knowledgeable about curly hair and shared her knowledge of curly hair and what to do to help my hair specifically! my hair turned out gorgeous and the price point is super reasonable as well :) i will be coming back ! read more

The good: salon has a very modern, urban vibe. The stylists are all pretty friendly, the online booking system is convenient The bad: the stylist took almost an hour and a half for a cut and blow out (or should I say flat iron job- which I can do at home). It normally takes 45 mins to an hour. The cut was not that intense. read more

I had my first experience here just recently and was very pleased. Ali cut my hair and she was great. I told her how much I wanted to cut and then before she did anything she checked with me again to make sure she did exactly what I wanted. She was very vocal about any suggestions she had and did exactly what I wanted and agreed to. I really appreciated that. The only negative thing during my experience was that they didn't have enough sinks, so while I had my conditioner in they had me move to a chair with my hair soaking wet so that another client could have their hair washed. Other than that, great atmosphere, very pleased with my haircut. read more

This was my first time at this great salon. I heard it won The Best of the Valley for 2018 and wanted to check it out. Ali N. colored and cut my hair and I received the best haircut I've had in many years. Ali was so great that I returned to her for a mani pedi. I highly recommend this salon. I posted this is a google review but wanted to post it here as well, because I found reviews through Yelp and was convinced to come here in the first place. I had a Devacut here--or, I made an appointment for a Devacut and was charged for one. It was a very strange appointment. They certainly attempted to sell me a lot of products. The hairstylist basically told me the Devacurl products I was using were all wrong for me and tried to sell me a whole new routine of the other cleanser they make, conditioner, two hair masks, a spray, two gels, and a curl cream, and the Wavemaker mousse. I was confused because I had all of the products I was interested in for my curl pattern already and the products she recommended to me were all over the shop in terms of the target hair texture--some of them were for waves, some of them were for super kinky curls, etc. I was charged for my cut and asked to tip before I got the cut, to begin with, which made me somewhat uncomfortable. The first thing the hairdresser did was brush my dry, curly hair--which is a big no for anyone with even the slightest experience with curly hair. It's literally the first care tip on google. Then, she washed it. The whole point of a Devacut is that it's a dry. After she washed it, she put some gel in it and cut it, and then washed it again, and then put more gel in it, and then mimed using a diffuser on it to show me how, didn't style or dry it whatsoever, and sent me away into the night with soaking wet, slimy, misshapen hair. All told this process took about two and a half- three hours, which would be fine if I got the cut I came for, an actual demonstration of styling, and styled hair. Really don't recommend. read more

I've been to this salon a few times so my daughter could get a Deva cut. She has seen three different people there for a Deva cut, and some are better than others. The best one was done by a stylist who no longer works there. One offered to blow dry her hair straight, which is a Deva cut no-no. Our last visit was a few weeks ago. This time we were there so my daughter could get her hair colored for her birthday and a quick trim of dead ends. We showed her some pictures and decided on a color. I asked her to cut her hair dry since it's the best way to see how curly hair will look naturally. Next, she explained she would have to lighten my daughter's hair in order to get the color she wanted. We expected that since her hair is brown. After sitting down in the waiting area for a few minutes, my daughter texted me to say the stylist told her the whole process could take 2-3 hours. The haircut portion took approximately 5 minutes. Then she used foils to lighten her hair. Once the foils were out, she went to the back to mix the color. She came back to say they didn't have the color we had chosen. So we picked a new color. Once the color portion was complete, she used the Deva diffuser to blow dry her hair. It came out frizzy and the color looked like a big block. She did not know how to style my daughter's curly hair to make the color look nice. She then charged me $250.00 for the service. I was shocked at the price, but didn't make a big deal on the spot as the experience was intended to be a fun gift for my daughter and I could already tell she was struggling with how her hair looked after the blow dry. I wrote to the salon the next day to question the pricing and to ask why they would charge so much for a hair service (especially for a child) without confirming with the client beforehand. I expected something in the $100-$125 range, but not double that. The owner responded to my email saying that my daughter had received two separate services, a full balayage and a full color. However, there was no balayage, the stylist (not the owner) used foils to lighten her hair. I pointed that out, but she would not budge on the issue and just said, "sorry for the confusion." Yeah. Emma is single handedly the greatest hair stylist within Massachusetts. Not only is she wonderful at what she does, but she is a kind person who is so pleasant to be around. I've never had anyone be able to get my dark hair as light as she has with absolutely no damage. The salon is gorgeous and inviting. Thank you for the great experience, will be back! read more

I went for a haircut from a Deva Curl Certified hair stylist and she did an awesome job. I walked in with flat hair with split ends and left with my natural curls back. Also, the vibe is awesome and the front desk staff were so nice! Definitely going to return again. read more
