Sally Spa used to be my favorite place for pedicures, and I often recommended it to friends and family because the service and customer care were always great. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was very disappointing. My sister and I scheduled two pedicures for 3/12 at 6:00 PM the day before. When we arrived on time, the staff said they had no record of our appointment and had to call the owner. After the call, we were told only one appointment had been scheduled, even though I clearly booked two pedicures. They eventually agreed to take both of us, but the staff's attitude made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. The technician Sara helping my sister seemed rushed the entire time, didn't properly cut her cuticles, and even left her sitting with wax on her feet for about 30 minutes to assist a walk-in client. Unfortunately, my sister's pedicure wasn't completed properly, which was very disappointing considering we had scheduled our appointment in advance and arrived on time. As a loyal customer, this experience was frustrating and not what I had come to expect from this business. Sadly, it will likely be our last visit. Also, if the staff is preparing to leave by 6:00 PM, it would be helpful for the business hours to reflect that instead of listing the closing time as 7:30 PM. read more

Where do I start? I was scrolling TikTok a few weeks ago and randomly saw the funniest post from Sally's. I thought the owner, Michelle, was hilarious, the content so on-point, not to mention the salon was beautiful. I live not too far from there and decided to give them a try, I've been looking for a new nail salon since my last one wasn't living up my expectations with a pretty horrible final experience. Let's start with the logistics. Scheduling at Sally's was a breeze, I looked online, picked my date and time, was confirmed in less than a minute. I was a little nervous about the location on busy Broadway but parking was a breeze!! Even on a busy afternoon, I saw several on the street and it was seamless. For my services, I scheduled a gel mani and pedi and was so impressed with the entire experience. Entering the salon, it's bright, light, clean and welcoming. The receptionist was super friendly and they offer a TON of complimentary beverages (not the water, "tea" or coffee in sketchy mismatched glasses either) as well as snacks. What salon do you know in the bay that gives your choice of drink AND Sun Chips? After I settled into my chair, both Sarah and Thi set to work. They were so kind and professional. I really wanted to like this place because I've been seeing it on TikTok so much, I drove 25 minutes there and I was willing to drive every month. Michelle is the nicest person ever!!! Since I went today on Valentine's Day she gave me a mimosa and very yummy snacks, this was totally worth the drive. For the nails... it seemed rushed, I even had to tell the person doing my nails that I had a hair stuck in them and she kinda got annoyed to fix them, when I got to my car I noticed all my nails look horrible!!! They're weak and I kept taking nail polish out of my fingers, the bottom of my nails were even stuck to my fingers, I will not comeback. Clean, relaxing spa with friendly staff and fair pricing. Parking is easy to find, and overall the service itself is quite nice. However, ladies - I just want to share an honest word of advice. If you're coming with your man, be aware that some of the women working there, including the owner, can be a little too friendly and flirtatious. During my visit, the owner made comments about my husband and even mentioned that they had talked before, which made me feel uncomfortable. I understand that men enjoy attention and friendly conversation, but as women, it's important we protect our relationships and set boundaries. It's unfortunate, because the spa itself is lovely - but professionalism and respect go a long way. I love Sally's Spa!! I've been coming here for a couple of years and am always happy with my nails. I get so many compliments on them! My manicure lasts about 4 weeks, sometimes even longer. I'd disregard reviews that say otherwise, I think some people just need to take better care of their nails after they get them done. Aside from their talent, they're all so kind and go above and beyond for their customers. They always offer me something to drink, help me when I'm being indecisive about a color, and host cute events. They're also honest about designs they can or can't do which I so appreciate! I just had one of my favorite manicure by Lisa! Very skinny French gel manicure. Lisa took her time and get to the thinnest lines that I asked for. She's young, energetic and hard working. She also listens to what I wanted and suggested the perfect color for my base! I would definitely come back to Lisa and get my nails done! This nail spa is very good! The service is crazy good and I love how they offer drinks before beginning! So you may be wondering why I'm giving this a 3/5? When actually getting my nails done it felt very rushed and maybe it's because I'm younger but they should be able to manage the amount of people they book. I believe that they should not expect everyone at the same time because my lady was tending at least three people at once and my nails done not feel like they will last 3-4 weeks. I really wanted to like this place. It's a cute nail shop not far from my new home. From the very start of my appointment there were unfortunate mishaps. I had dip nails and they needed to be soaked off with acetone. The big mistake was the staff putting very very hot water in the bowl instead of acetone. The water was very hot and the acetone was placed in the bottom. I had my hands in the water for over 30 minutes while my pedicure was being done. My fingers were like prunes and the owner was very apologetic for the mistake. Ti did a nice job on my toes. Hence the 2 stars. Sara did my dip nails. She was very nice but unfortunately 2 days later the top coat peeled off on all of my nails. I went back to the shop to get them fixed. Now it's been a week and my nails are all chipping. This is still one of my favorite spots to get a pedicure. The main reasons are that Sally's is so clean (it's gives a lot of comfort) and the fact that everyone who works here is so attentive. There is a new sign in tablet to check in but that's probably the only change I've seen recently. The pedicure is the standard of cut, buff clean, massage and paraffin. You can chose from regular or gel. Also a huge plus is that you can call ahead and make an appointment and they honor it. read more

Just moved to the Bay Area. I've been looking for a nail salon to call home and I found this one. The interior is very cute...it was a slow Thursday afternoon. I wasn't offered anything to drink but maybe it's Normal in Cali not to offer My nail tech Lilian I think was her name did a great job on my pedi. As I was checking out at the front desk the owner asked me if I tipped my tech I told her yes I did already. There's a sign that says to tip in cash...although I'm a tipper I find it weird how you HAVE TO tip..by force. It wasn't optional. What if your nail tech did a terrible job and you don't want to tip? I'm sorry. I just came to get my under arm waxed and the gal hurried the service. She had me lay down. I put my arm up, and both sides of the bed had room for her to walk to my arm to wax. But she didn't clean my underarm and dry it before putting the wax on. Then she waxed me. But when she was done with one arm and she made me lift my other side towards her to wax the other arm. But I was on an angle, so it was uncomfortable. I don't understand why she didn't walk to the other side of the bed to wax my other arm. She had the nerve to ask if I was comfortable and I said I was not. So she decided to finally walk to the other side of the bed to wax my other arm. I was a walk-in on a Sunday afternoon to have a gel polish change. I live out of state but stay in the area for work. I have been getting bi-monthyl manicures/pedicures for years and I know what I want, what I should expect, and safe practices for nail care. I was greeted by Michelle, the owner and she promptly has a nail tech gently remove my gel polish. I appreciate that the process was soaking off and not to use a drill for polish removal. The lady taking my polish off was gentle and sweet. Michelle then polished my nails and was meticulous. She took care to ensure the polish was dry and wouldn't leave bumps and the polishing was also meticulous. I was incredibly pleased! I booked another appointment for mani/pedi and hope to receive the same experience. The salon was clean with a nice ambiance. I paid by Venmo, but they do have a card reader as well. The is a sign at the desk saying cash tip only. I don't carry cash, but I did have a $10 that I tipped with. Can't promise I'll show with cash next time.
