I had blonde hair and wanted to go burgundy brown, I asked for advice and was recommended a 4n with a medium burgundy brown together. I told her I don't want my hair turning black, and she said it wouldn't... lone behold my hair is BLACK after months of getting it lighter. I should've known a ION level 4 would be too dark but you would think they would know what they're talking about. I'm extremely sad it hasn't lightened at all and it's been 2 weeks. I came in today because of a rather embarrassing situation. I dropped a can on my toe and my nail cracked so I was looking for a way to help repair it. When I walked in I was greeted by a friendly and warm face who introduced herself as Carolina. I was given some time to walk the aisles when Carolina came up and asked if she could help me with anything. I sheepishly told her what happened and she immediately had great recommendations for me! She asked questions, assessed my nails and helped me pick some items in my budget that will help. She instructed me on what to do and knew just the products that would help! She was such a kind soul! She asked me to come back and tell her how it worked out. Carolina you're amazing, everything worked out, I owe you one! Carolina is definitely a girls girl and gives you the feeling of having your back!! What an awesome experience provided in such a short time! The prices were very reasonable as well, I have to mention that, I was worried I was in for $60-$80 but the products I needed were only $29 total. When I walked in she was helping explain how another customer could fix a mistake she made with her hair and I was so happy to overhear her because I needed that level of help too. I waited my turn and when she was available, she spent so much time explaining color theory to me, asking questions to understand my comfort level with change, and then recommended a product that ultimately made me feel sooo much better about myself. She offered incredible instructions and was above and beyond helpful. I think good customer service is sort of rare these days, let alone excellent customer service, but this girl knocked it out of the park for me. I had been using Manic Panic hair dye for several years and she recommended I try a newer product (Good Dye Young) and I couldn't be happier because not only are the colors more vibrant and silky but it seems to last TWICE AS LONG BEFORE FADING! I came to this FOLSOM location recently and it was a good experience. The woman that helped me was Jojo, she was very welcoming and helpful. Her customer service was excellent! I felt very comfortable to ask her lots of questions. She was extremely knowledgeable and kind. I really appreciated her service. I came here to get Remi hair extensions- they have clip in or not, and two different lengths: 14 inches and 18 inches. I was explained the differences between hair types, the lengths, quality, etc... I went with the 14 inch Remi style. Jojo matched up my hair color perfectly. This hair felt incredible and you can style it however you want too. It can have heat applied to it. When I got home, the box had the hair neatly set. There was 4 wider pieces- for the bottom, to the middle of my head, and 6 individual strands to clip in near the front area. Wow! It looked fantastic! Great quality and great transformation. It made a huge difference. I love this store and I definitely suggest it for all your hair needs. read more

I love Sally's, however my past experience really left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I came in to this location when the location close to where I live was out of my product. I had a club card renewal coupon worth $5 off my next purchase that has expired the day before, but I figured that the coupon would be honored due to the fact that if the store next to me had my product in stock, I wouldn't have had to drive to Folsom the next day, and my coupon wouldn't be expired. Unfortunately, the employee could not honor my coupon because it would not "register" in their system. I wasn't too happy but reluctantly purchased my items anyway. Upon examination of my receipt, I noticed that the employee didn't even give my card discount on my items, which is why I renewed my sally club card in the first place. I walked in and confronted the employee about this problem land she was not sympathetic to my issue and didn't admit fault in the slightest. At this point, I had drove out of my way for this just to be given crappy customer service. I have been a loyal customer for 5 years and have never had a problem with this company. I usually go to the placerville sallys, but since I had to go to walmart I went to the this one. They are very rude! I came in to buy some make up for my bfs hand tattoos to be covered and one employee was nice I wish I would of remembered her name but anyways I got those items and the girl who rung me up has no expressions or emotions just acts like she hates her job. Next time I went there I went to take back the make up because it didn't work, they let me take it back for store credit which was fine but when I asked for help on what products I needed because I'm going to dye my hair the same girl who rung me up last time told me "good luck" in a snotty voice, like ok? I'm not a big beauty buyer, but every 5 years or so, I get on a makeup/hair kick. Several months ago I tried to buy a new guard/guide for some hair clippers I had. The girl told me if it didn't fit, I could bring it back. I tried to bring it back the next day, and the clerk said the other girl was wrong, and I couldn't return it. I was annoyed. The other day I went in looking for some makeup remover. I couldn't find any (they must have some), and I also couldn't find any salespeople to ask for help. Again, I was annoyed. Between the inconsistent customer service, and the chemical smell of the place, I don't think I'll be back. I"m sure it's a fine store for beauty professionals, but for an average Jane Doe, it's just annoying. Last year I did buy some tweezers here for $20 BLEEPING DOLLARS. I'm not a fan of the employees at this location. They really need some training on customer service. I've been in multiple times and each time has been the same experience. I was in yesterday and I have a receipt for my purchases I uploaded for validation that I was actually in store. The employee that helped me out was behind the counter and I stood in line and I was the only customer in the store at the time and she was on her phone texting behind the counter. So I didn't put my stuff on the counter I was trying to let her finish and I waited. Once she was done she just stood there and stared at me. I asked "are you ready" and she said "yup" so I gave her my products. The whole check out process was unpleasant not once did she engage in any conversation with me, asking if I found everything okay, she didn't call me up to the counter I had to ask her if she was ready. She just asked for my Sally beauty # and told me the total. She didn't say thank you for coming in, she didn't say have a good day, nothing. She handed me the receipt and said "here" and I left. I was a former employee at Sally Beauty Supply in Arden Sacramento and they do teach employees to be engaged with their customers so I'm not sure why the multiple times I have came in to the store the customer service just wasn't there. read more

I will never return to this Sally's Beauty and I would advise all you to do the same. I went in to purchase some false lashes and looked at some nail polish while I was there. When I was ready to check out I told the employee at the register I was ready and she proceeded to give me a dirty look while looking me up and down. While I'm paying she asks to look inside my purse. (Umm this is strange...I know I spent a little while looking at the nail polishes, but I wasnt aware this means I stole something). Being as that I had nothing to hide I opened up and my purse and let her have a look inside. The only thing she had to say was "ok" ...no thank you, no explanation just an "ok". Then she just stares at me waiting for me to leave. Apparently she was so excited to catch a thief (fail) that she forgot she still owed me $15 in change, which I had to remind her of... Ok Sally's I know nobody would ever describe your store as upscale, but this is down right pathetic. I have never experienced such poor customer service. I often purchase Remy hair extensions from this location because they usually carry a wide range of blonde shades. I went in and asked one of the sales associates to unlock the hair extension from the shelf so I could hold the color up to the light. While I was looking at the hair extensions, the two sales associates began to openly argue over who of the two of them should ring up my hair extension sale when I as ready. The one lady was sitting on the stool sloughed over and said she believed she should have the sale because her numbers were not high for the day. I could not believe they would actually discuss that in front of a customer. I immediately handed the package to the sales associate and said "no thank you I am no longer interested" and walked out. I decided to purchase online at a different retailer instead. Not only are the sales associates not properly trained in customer etiquette, but they are rude. JYesterday was the last straw. The staff is usually unprofessional at this location and they frequently have incorrect prices listed. They are always out of stock of products I never had problems obtaining at other locations. In the past, I was willing to overlook these issues because the location was so convenient to me but yesterday I needed to pop in quickly and there was a sign on the door that said closed even though it was the middle of the afternoon. So I waited a few minutes and then called the store. I asked when they were going to open again and the lady said probably in about 10 minutes. No apology or any explanation. I had an orange hair emergency so I called on a Sunday an hour before they closed to ask if there were any color pros on staff. Cecelia was super friendly and listened to my concerns. I arrived close to closing time and she greeted me with a smile and had me ready and out the door in 10 minutes. My hair is fabulous thanks to her excellent advice. I have gone to the same stylist for 10 years but due to a career change and less income I decided to go ombré for a bit but hated it. My hair is long but very fine. I went in to this location to look at hair color and was hoping to get some advice from the sales associate. I walked in and started looking at the products. The sales girl walked out from the back, looked at me, and gave me a full up and down like she was judging me. She then said something like, "let me know if you have any questions," and before I could say that I did in fact have questions, she walked away. A few minutes later I went to ask her about the color. She was rude and acting like I was putting her out by talking to her. She also gave me bad information. She said that semi-permanent and demi-permanent dye are the same except that semi-permanent lasts longer. Wrong! I've never dyed my own hair and even I know that. Terrible service - both rude and not even knowledgeable about basic product information. I walked out without making a purchase or saying "thank you" for the "help."
