I wish to advise everyone that Sally Beauty Supply has a corporate policy that requires customer to pay a fee for a bag to place your store bought items into. I believe this corporate policy is an insult to customers. I just purchased items in the amount of $100.00 and was informed by the store employee I have to pay a fee to place my purchased items into a bag. Again this is a corporate policy I confirm mmnn ed this with their corporate office. People should notify corporate office and demand they remove this insulting policy. Smaller store and the employees weren't as friendly or helpful as the location I usually visit, but they had the China Glaze colors that I was searching for in stock. The part of the register that lets them pull up your Beauty Card by your phone number was down and when I asked if I could add my purchase to my account online using my receipt, the employee didn't know and didn't understand why I'd want to. I explained that when you spend $25 in a month you receive a 15% discount on a future purchase. read more

I have never come back into this particular Sally's. I joined their membership program and was given a $5 coupon. I saved it for next use. I wanted to buy a hair dryer and this Sally's happened to have the exact one I wanted, at the store! Didn't need to order it. With a big sign right on it that said $99! I asked the woman working if I could purchase it. She gave me TONS of excuses, and ended with. "That price is wrong, it isn't $99". There were no other prices around mind you, and that is the advertised price so they have to honor their advertising. She went on to tell me she couldn't honor the giant sign on it because it is more expensive, around $120. I wanted it anyway, gave her my $5 "welcome coupon" and she couldn't find a way to ring it up. She couldn't even find the UPC code that told her the "real" price. She gave me so many problems and then told me I couldn't buy it. I walked around only to realize she kept my coupon and "misplaced" it. Yea, never again. read more

i just needed toner because i was gonna do highlights in my hair. i was just asking what i could use to get brass out of my hair because i knew it would come out yellow. the lady was telling me that nothing i used would work because bleach wouldn't lighten my dark roots?? she then pointed me to three toners and walked away before i could ask about developer. i went up to the front with toner that she recommended me and asked about the developer. she tried to make me feel like an idiot for not knowing which toner to use. get a new job if you're really that unhappy sis. update: she recommended me a red toner versus a violet toner (which is typically used to draw yellow/brass out of hair) that made my hair even more brassy read more

BAD customer service. I just don't get it. How is it that some people just do not understand how to provide even decent customer service if they work in a retail store?!? I did get an unenthusiastic "Hi" when I walked in. The store itself is very cramped and is set up in a style of a long narrow hallway that is kind of hard to navigate especially if there are other people shopping near you. The stockroom door was wide open and both associates working were behind the counter gossiping the entire time so if someone had bad intentions it could turn into a bad situation (just something I notice after working in loss prevention for some time.) I already came into the store knowing what I was looking for so I had no problem going in, picking it out and heading to the counter. They did have a clearance table set up in the front of the store but the store is so cramped that the table was backed up very close to the registers which made a very tight situation for browsing when two people were in line. I would have been okay with all above mentioned things if it would not have been for the situation at the cash register. When I was ready to check out I placed all of my items on the counter. The two girls behind the counter were gossiping about a coworker the entire time I was checking out. I don't even think my cashier looked up at me one time except to swipe my card and give me my receipt. They were so involved in their own conversation that I forgot to ask about a pair of gloves that I could only purchase at the register. All I am asking for is a little friendly conversation here! If not that, even a smile, a glance, SOMETHING! I guess talking crap about a coworker in front of customers is much more important than providing customer service. This is not the first time I have encountered this at a Sally's. Apparently customer service training is not a top priority for this company. It is not a priority for most company's these days but geez, a little common sense goes a long way. So apparently this must be said. I went in to buy a specific product my hair dresser told me to buy. The girl that helped me ended up selling me something totally different than what I wanted. Then she proceeded to tell me what she thought was wrong with the color my hair dresser did. I'm sorry last time I checked, you aren't supposed to make the customer feel self conscious about themselves. I will never return to this store. I went in a few days ago and the cashier was a little dark haired girl with a bad attitude. As a matter of fact every time I see that she is working I turn the other way. But a few days ago I had to touch up my roots so I went in and there is a very lovely older woman dark hair purple and pink roots that was helping me, I was considering bleaching my hair and she answered my question correctly but I think because she is new she wanted a second opinion so she asked the small girl if she could come over to us for a second and the small girl straight up said "NO" and walked to the room in the back of the store 5 minutes later she walked outside to smoke. The lovely woman helping me seemed taken aback by this but did her best to apologize and continued helping me. PS my hair turned out wonderful!! read more

The quality of the hair brushes has really diminished over the years. I used to purchase natural boar bristle brushes from Sally's that were made in the USA and cost about $15.00 Now I purchased a supposedly bore Bristlebrush from Sally's and it was only 499 so I had my doubts that it was actually real. This is the worst store I have ever called. I am sitting here on hold and have been for 18 minutes so far. I can hear the girls in the background talking and laughing and then all of a sudden they left like as if they went in the back room. I am tying up their line right now and they don't even care! If I owned this store they would be fired! It is 3:00 p.m. Tuesday 4/17 in case the manager reads this. I just had a simple question about whether they carry a particular product or not. I was going to give it one star because of how rude one of the lady's was but luckily the dark hair green eyed girl was kind. I don't know if she had a really bad day or she's always like that. I used to come here all the time and haven't been in a while. This women didn't say anything to me was working in the back, which is fine until the other nice girl asked for her help. She asked what was best for my hair. She didn't even look up acknowledge me or my hair. I got a crappy answer "blonde brilliance is the most popular". I don't want popular I want what works for my hair. She shows me the wella toners book and I was going to ask a question before she rudely interrupted and with an attitude "you get what I'm saying this what is going to work on your hair" you need to lighten it again.Before I tried to ask my question again she said "you get that". It made me very uncomfortable I worked customer service and you'd never catch me talking like that to a costumer. I almost left because of how self conscious she made me feel. Despite all of her rudeness my cashier was kind and even funny. She didn't make me feel like crap. If you ever see a Hispanic dark curly haired girl stay away... This is by far the worst Sally's, the manager as she said she was should NOT work in customer service she went out of her way to be rude to me and even made me feel uncomfortable and as I was talking asking her something she proceeded to interrupt me because she didn't like what I was saying and kept saying " ok bye ok bye bye have a good day as she shewed me out the door with her hand motions. She needs to leave customer service. She made it known over and over she was the manager when I complained and she had a smart sarcastic mouth on her. I will NEVER come to this Sally's if any ever again. I am licensed but still like to use Sally's for some small things I buy, but nope never again I will make the drive to cosmo prof or Armstrong. I still can't believe how rude she was and went out of her way to be mean. Shame on you Sally's for allowing people like this to work your store. There are many complaints about this store and you do nothing. I will be contacting the district manager from cosmo prof and Sally's who are the sister company and be more than happy to let them know how horrible this woman was. When I saw this store was coming near me I was so excited. But I really am disappointed by many things!! The store is always a mess, the girls working there since it opened (with the exception of one) are NOT helpful and some are rude and the same products are not there every time. Few examples of these observations: when looking in the "ethnic" section your back is against the office door and boxes are surrounding the door, so the girls going back into there keep going back & fourth and say nothing to you, like they just expect you to move out the way which is nearly impossible when you have a baby on your hip and are crammed back in the hallway; I also showed an employee a picture of the color I wanted and her reply was that I can ONLY get that color in the salon. I feel completely undervalued when I go there and honestly found my products at Target, with the exception of the hair color. read more

Came here last week to get hair dye supplies for myself and a friend...she wanted black cherry color i got the dark mahogany brown...well when we went to mix the ion dark mahogany brown with the developer it was chunky and would not develop we waited for a good 30 mins and still nothing! Went to go take it back and exchange for another brand and color and was told by the manager and the sales associate that they cant do that once its opened! Well how in the hell would you be able to know if it wont develop and isn't a bad batch if you don't mix it?!?! Although i get that its their policy but c'mon $10 worth of hair dye for a customer to keep returning seems it would be worth it to the manager and company...I live in California and just went to my local sallys today and when i told them the situation the sales associate said well it is policy but we would have exchanged it as a one time thing...Poor customer service at this location!! read more

***EMPLOYEES ARE NOT PROFESSIONALLY LICENSED TO CUT/DYE HAIR, DO NOT ASK FOR ADVICE!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!*** I went into this store on 6/27/13 to buy hair dye, and extensions, i was given advice by an employee as well as manager on which dye to use, and after i had picked out the extensions and was getting checked out i asked again if the red dye would dye the extensions, which said 100% human hair on the package, and the employee told me YES it would, i took the extensions home, and started to dye them i noticed that the color didn't look red, it looked more purple as i spread it onto the blonde extensions, and i thought, well they said it was going to be red, so i'll keep going and see how it turns out. little did i know that an employee had mixed in a box of red hot intensifier(additive color, not depositing color, in other words doesn't work without being mixed with dye) in with the red dye that the MANAGER handed me ( i noticed too late because the boxes are pretty much IDENTICAL). so when i opened up the next box and spread IT on to the extensions i noticed immediately that it was NOT the same as the first one i opened! and i was shocked, i was willing to cut my losses there since it was just a little bit of the extensions that were ruined at this point, so i went on dying the extensions, let them process and when i rinsed them i got a HUGE SHOCK! the extensions were NOT 100% human hair, in fact the synthetic hair mixed in stayed platinum blonde, and both packages of hair, and even MY hair were ruined, the dye itself did not do what she said it would, the extensions were ruined and i was out over a hundred bucks. i went in the following saturday, on 6/29/13 was told that the manager was only there mon-fri before 3 pm.. (which was a LIE because when i bought all the supplies on 6/27/13 the manager was the one who told me what to buy!! and the receipt says 9:03pm!!!) that would be the FIRST of the lies to come from this horribly staffed store. i went back in today, and instead of both packages of extensions being replaced the same manager, who told me what to get only replaced one of them, and as i went to grab the dye to be replaced with a different brand because the dye that she told me to get ruined my hair and the extensions, the manager and her employee that was in store were talking crap about me as i walked up, saying " she thinks i'm giving her TWO packages of hair? go put this one back, HA she thought i'd give her TWO." after that she proceeded to only give me ONE package of hair, and made me pay for all the dye WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED. so now here i sit, because she would not even just give me in store credit for the amount of the extensions, i had to just take the ONE package, and pay for all the dye myself, again, instead of them biting the bullet and accepting responsibility for their employee's mishap. well i would NOT EVER recommend going into sally's expecting to get any kind of advice on what to buy, because they are not professionals, they are not licensed, and your hair and wallet will pay the price, so don't even waste your time. ***EMPLOYEES ARE NOT PROFESSIONALLY LICENSED TO CUT/DYE HAIR, DO NOT ASK FOR ADVICE!!!
