Rebel deserves a metal as she was everything I needed that day. I was able to find fragnabces that suit everyone and an additional two fragrances for myself. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The store was in great conditional especially for this time of year.

I must say the whole time we were there Deb (you're an absolute gem) and the nice lady at the givenchy section were great and def would have been 5 star on their presence, professionalism and knowledge alone. It all went sour, when we went to check out with 8 items or so from the nice ladies who helped on the floor. Then we run into a staff member doing handheld checkout for credit card only. Poor customer service skills, attitude to boot and sarcasm unwarranted. My GF is super nice and courteous in asking questions and she just tossed so much shade for what reason? Beats me. Even attitude when we decided to not go thru with a second purchase as she kept shoving the handheld and saying tap here, as if our few seconds of choosing to walk or not inconveniences her time on the clock. Too bad we couldn't get her name. However we at least know whom to steer clear of for help in any capacity if we want to have a good experience at Sephora. We decided to come back and return all the goods and just go to a different location. Hopefully the manager on duty can re-train this staff member. Because she's just bad for their company image. She should find a different career path that doesn't deal with the public. SMH, all the good work by Deb and the other lady and then this unwarranted shade, we weren't being difficult, simply asked about their promotion.

The store was not crowded, just steady customers, and our group even called ahead to make sure they could assist us. We were told it would be no problem. When we arrived, our group leader went over to introduce herself to the manager and let her know we were ready to start shopping. The manager was snarky, unprofessional, and her exact response was, "I'm short staffed and can't help other than suggestions." Well yes, thank you, that is literally all we needed from her. To do her job and offer suggestions. Her tone was unnecessary and completely off putting. Thankfully the other associates were kind and truly beautiful souls. The manager with the purple hair... not so much. I told my group that next time we will take our dollars to my home store in Westwood where they know how to treat people and have fun. The Westwood crew is everything, including the manager. South Bay is also a great option. I still spent almost one hundred dollars even with the managers behavior. Dear Ulta, our dollars can be spent anywhere. Please keep that in mind when you train your managers.

Meanwhile if you wanted to shop... items are messed up all over the store, out of stock, out of place. The item I came for said it had multiple in stock here..and there was zero. Cashing out wasn't any better. No samples. No did you find everything (no). Long line with one person working it. No smile, no hello, no thanks. Lovely.

The other evening, during last minute Christmas shopping, my mother was coaxed into trying a nail treatment. After trying to get away multiple times (they actually took her shopping bags from her at one point), she agreed to purchase a two-for-one manicure set for $40, which they told her would normally retail for far more. As she finally walked away, she was caught by the owner, a very pushy woman, who insisted on checking that the other employees had sold her "the right stuff." My mother, being in a particularly helpful mood, displayed the kits, and was then strong armed into trying various other products. Again, the bags were taken away, they asked uncomfortable and personal questions, they kept grabbing her and asking her to sit down again. My mother's exact words were that she "felt abused" into a sale, just to get them to leave her alone. All told, she dropped over $300 on a "special deal" for products she was told normally totalled over $600. All were intended to gifts. The entire time, the manager assured her that we could bring back the products if we weren't satisfied. Well, we weren't satisfied. After checking with the manufacturer, the products were worth FAR less than they sold them to us for. It's a complete scam. My mortified mother and I promptly brought the products back, unopened, to get a refund. The same owner who sold the products to us the evening before informed us of their no-returns policy, which was displayed on a small placard on the opposite side of the cart from where the transaction took place. My mother never saw that, and that was not the message she was given by the owner - presumably the authority on the policy. I also told her about a massive rash we both developed from using one of their creams the year before - none doing. Just to be clear, this was not exactly an intelligent purchase by my mother. Hey, that happens. But, you can't lie about your return policy. We've disputed the charge with our credit card company, reported them to the BBB and Consumerist, as well as personally informed all customers at the cart that they were better off heading to Aveda or any department store. You should do the same. What a scam!
