There are some draw backs. The water is only 2-3 feet deep for a good quarter of a mile from the shore, especially at low tide it is a challenge just getting into the water because of all the damn rocks! Otherwise, it's nice being able to go for a swim and yet be a 5 minute walk from downtown Beverly. It seems to be a challenge to find a good place to swim, in Lynn the red algea ruins the beach (but I have heard it is well under control this year) and for something close and quick Dane Street will do.

People complain about the bathrooms a lot on here I see. I personally didn't mind them. Yes it wasn't the four seasons but the water was warm.

It's a wonderful place to go just to "soak it all in" and take some really beautiful photos. There's no pathway and you have to climb over slippery rocks and be very careful even when wearing the right shoes. If you are physically able to go down there though, it's definitely worth it.

It's hard for a coastal park to blow me away because I have some wonderful ones where I live. But, if you're trying to catch some water views while in Marblehead, you should stop by. I noticed a couple climbing down the rocks and foraging the shoreline, but I can't speak to if that is safe or recommended. There's free street parking and it would be a cool place to take a picnic. When we visited, it was totally quiet and private feeling.

I feel badly saying this, but when we pulled up from the GPS, we laughed. The lighthouse is a very minimal, old, not inviting, colorless structure. There's almost no public seating. There are barely any signs explaining the area. It has so much potential but none of it is utilized. A lot of tourists were milling about with similar confusion. On a funnier note, a local here told me that Marblehead, MA will sometimes use a lighthouse photo of the one from my state in Marblehead, OH because they also agree there's is disappointing. Three stars for the surrounding waters if you're not used to seeing water.

When I told him it was my mother's emotional support animal he said, they're not allowed. I have taken this same dog to this park at least twice and it was never an issue. She has a special collar and identification, we even have a doctor's note. I don't get the fuss and bog deal... In my mother's case, she has PTSD, it's crucial for us to have the dog at all times. If you're an animal lover and cannot leave the house without your service animal, do not waste your time and/ or your $25. This parking fee of what people pay to park at amusement parks lol Never again.

Endicott Park in Danvers is only $4 on weekends and holidays. I could justify the spend if I were going to spend at least a half day here, but I have a toddler who is going to play for an hour to an hour and a half max. I feel the fees should be well noted so unsuspecting people don't drive here, because like most of the North Shore where neighborhoods and streets are very old it isn't quick and easy getting here. A beautiful large and windswept beach in the North Eastern suburbs of Boss-town up on the North Shore that is gorgeous and much less touristy and much more unspoiled than the more famous and curvaceous Revere Beach. I love both but if I had to pick a favourite I'd pick Revere. I definitely love coming here though and it reminds me a lot of Newcastle in the northeast of England.
