Crooked Creek distillery provided the opportunity to both buy some bottled gifts and have a few drinks. I have to say despite the small storefront this was a pretty good tasting room experience, the bartender really made the experience, his knowledge of the company and the products was outstanding, and he provided sample of anything you were interested in. I wish I had taken less hits to the head in my youth, and then maybe I would remember his name. But walked away after having several samples, buying a few mixed drinks for myself and the wife to make Holiday shopping easier, and two bottles that are probably going in my stocking. Kudos to the honey whiskey, they use local honey and you can actually see when it settles in the bottle, and has an outstanding actual honey flavor.

It is a very different business model than their usual retail spots in shopping centers. We ordered some of their usual slushees: the adult orange push-up and adult chocolate milk. Just like at their other locations they can add an additional shot to these for additional flavors beyond just the base flavor (and a little extra kick). A new drink that some of our group ordered was the hammered duck. It is a combination of lemonade and snozzberry moonshine with a rubber duck floating on top. It is a nice summer drink and very photogenic! As far as food goes, the only thing we ordered was the salmon dip. It was also very good and served with warm pitas and tortilla chips. We look forward to returning and enjoying more of what Country Hammer has to offer.

He said he has limited supplies but can make a cocktails. We just sampled some of well all for me. Rum was a clear rum but throughout great taste, gin was your typical gin but delicious, limoncello was a classic that doesn't add the milk, it's straight up, root beer moonshine was amazing, apple whiskey was 50 proof, smallest of them all but good. Lastly he had me try a corn whiskey that they do not have available but tasted great. 90 proof, he said in the future it's going to be their bourbon. The owner was extremely nice and we had a great conversation about the business and making wine, to whiskey. He said he uses 10 gallon barrels due to lower wait times on aging vs larger quantities. Recommendation, reach out before just appearing on a day that they're supposed to be open. You will not leave disappointed.

On our way to Bloom Brew, I suggested we stop by, and wow--the place was open! So many changes in two years. This is where the magic happens with distilling the products, and it also houses the cocktail bar. The Irwin location is mainly a sample and bottle shop.
