The website says they have a car wash. I called them. They do not have a car wash...So waste your time or your gas to drive over there.

Had to wait over 5 minutes at the full serve and no one came out. I had to go in and get someone!

The idiot that works at 11pm is the dumbest person I have ever met, he DOESN'T know how to split a payment (cash/debit) how hard is it? You take the cash & then debit the rest, SERIOUSLY if a customer wants $10 & has $5 on the card you put $10 on the pump take the $5 cash & charge the card $5 this is not rocket science!!! & If you ask him anything in between is stupid stoned spaced out looks you get "huh" for a response,GO ELSEWHERE YOU'LL DO MUCH BETTER read more

What distinguishes my experience from those that I read of my fellow Yelpers is that I never had by car fixed here. This place is one of two Shell stations I regularly pass by, and I swear by Shell gas. Therefore, the only goods and services I get here are gas and the occasional car wash. Shell gas is Shell gas... only according to their signs, there is a cash price which is less than a card price. I don't know if this is a freak occurrence in the current digital age, or if there are many stations still doing it, just not advertising as vividly. Car wash is largely automated, but when you drive up there is usually someone there to help you punch in the numbers on the keypad, and help guide your car into the railing. On a basis of clean only, I do prefer Triton Wash by a sliver, but considering their wash is 18, and the wash here is 15 (with 5 deducted for checking in) the value for a car wash is better here. On the few occasions I had to step inside the booth for buying a car wash, some paper towels, or an occasional scratch ticket, the staff was polite and took care of me without issue. Like I said, Shell gas is Shell gas... if you are just low on fuel, or swear by Shell like I do, then do not hesitate to stop by this place. read more

I have had work done and always good service as well as the work. But on June I had some brake work done to my 2003 Ford E-150 van and the vehicle came back missing a hub cap. I have asked John several times, he said he would look to see if he could find it. He measured the wheel and said he would look for it. This vehicle HAD FOUR HUBCAPS and he keeps on telling me he has to measure it (which he already did). The work I need to do will NOT be done by Johns Shell, anymore. As he continues to avoid getting or replacing the hubcap he either lost or misplaced. I have spent over $3000 dollars in work. I would NOT recommend his services as they are careless on losing parts. I will contact Shell and forward my complaint. read more

Car wash is almost always broken other then that its a gas station with a very small convinience store inside

Great service! Saw John for a rear brake change this morning. Asked when's a good day to bring it because I have to pick my son up from school at 2pm. He said that's fine you can leave it now (9am) and sure enough I was notified by 1pm it was ready! And a lot more affordable than at the dealership! Will return! read more

I broke down in Salem and I live in Boston. I was very nervous about having a mechanic that I don't know work on my truck. All of the people working there were very nice and professional. John the main mechanic called me and went over the specific issues and his recommendations. The truck was repaired quickly, affordable and he even ran my truck through the car wash! I have never had anybody wash my truck after repairing it. Great customer service. Thank you Salem Shell! read more

I stopped at this Gas station just about 1 hour prior to this post. I had a moving truck that I needed to fill up so that I could return it. I pulled up to the self service pump and put in my credit card and lifted the handle and selected the type of gas. I didn't work. It kept asking me to pick up the handle. No big deal, I asked the gentleman at the full service side if he could set it so I can pump gas and pay with the card after. He said that I would need to speak with the person at the window. I went to the window and explained the scenario to the guy behind the window. He asked me how much I want to put in and I told him I wanted to fill it up. He clearly got frustrated and said he needs to know how much I want to put in. I again said that I want to fill it up and could he set the pump so that I could pump what I needed and then pay. Now he was clearly frustrated and and started asking me how much I need. I told him it's probably about 1/8 of a tank but I don't know exactly, it just has to be full so I can return the truck. At this point he was VERY frustrated so I then got frustrated and said don't worry about it , I will go somewhere else. As I walked away he said through the speaker - "I can't help you if I don't know what the F@&$'ing problem is". I was absolutely shocked that he spoke this way to me and while we were both frustrated at that point, he went there. I told him to F off at that point because he swore at me. He said the same to me and I drove off. This is an absolutely HORRIBLE place with even more HORRIBLE employees. I hope they can fix cars better than they can service a customer.
