So.......about mid morning on April 2nd, desperately in need of gas, my wife and I pulled into the Speedway gas station located on 90 North St in Salem, MA. upon approval of transaction I noted the prerequisite "waiting on attendant" message on the pumps display, about 15 minutes passed before I finally walked to the cashier window, I noted a posting on the front door indicating the attendant would return soon, but....was the attendant unconscious on the floor? bound and gagged perhaps? Having a bad bathroom experience? I had no idea, upon concluding that for whatever reason no one was apparently available to complete my transaction I turned to begin the walk back to my car, as I turned a young girl flung open the front door and clutching the "back soon" notice began berating me! "Can't you read? I was in the bathroom!" I simply continued to my car in silence all the while verbally abused! After about 15 seconds of further verbal abuse I flashed my middle finger behind my back at her! I'd had enough! Continual demands to simply approve my sale resulting in further abuse! Giving up on the possibility of successfully refueling I now resigned to cancelling the sale and finding another station, five more irretrievable minutes of my life passed waiting on the cancellation of my sale, when it became obvious that this was not to be I confronted the irate attendant, "YOU GAVE ME THE FINGER! IM NOT SELLING YOU GAS!", I had to insist that the sale be cancelled, I'm convinced now that she was hoping I'd leave in blind anger letting the next guy fill his tank at my expense!
So in conclusion if you decide to visit the Speedway on North St Salem Ma, hope you don't catch the attendant in a bad mood or on the toilet! read more
