Front counter staff does not seem to want to be there. I Don't know if it's out of obligation, family ties or desperation of a job. Either way a lesson in good personable Customer Service is much needed. There was NOTHING special about the corned beef or the overall sandwich--it tasted like something you could pick up from the deli counter at your local grocery store for a fraction of the price . Save yourself some time and money keep driving. I expected a fresh, flavorful sandwich from a place known for corned beef, (apparently this is new ownership ) but instead, it was bland, uninspired, and completely underwhelming. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

The staff was so nice and gave me suggestions on what to try. The service was excellent. For sandwiches, we tried the Italian and prosciutto. The meats were really good. Unfortunately, the oil and herbs wasn't on my husband's sub, and I think they accidentally put mild peppers instead of hot. 3/5 I learned you come here for the baked goods!!!! Granted I have only eaten Corn Beef sandwiches in less than a dozen places my entire life. Bread Basket Deli has a number of locations in the Detroit area and neighboring cities. It was on my wish list to visit one of them, and this was the closest one to us. We visited when Covid restrictions were still very strict. Sadly, the dining area was closed. Happily, the drive-thru window was open. There were only a half dozen cars ahead of us. Wifey called the restaurant and placed our order. We picked it up at the window about 20 minutes later. The woman who assisted us was awesome!! She was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful!! As I mentioned earlier, their Corn Beef sandwich was the BEST!! Seriously, it was one of the best sandwiches that I have ever eaten. My wife and I shared it because it was quite large. She thought it was delicious as well. All the ingredients that made up that sandwich went so well together! For dessert, we shared their Strawberry cheesecake. It was yummy too! Very happy that Bread Basket Deli met my expectations!! They will now be a regular destination for us everytime we visit family in the Detroit area.

It was supposed to have been fresh (it wasn't frozen when I bought it 2 -3 days before Thanksgiving).
