This past fall, my 10-year-old son's teacher told me that he'd started to fall behind in math. She…read morewas certain that it wasn't because of an inability to do the work, but because of a lack of confidence and a general aversion for doing things that he has to put forth a little bit more effort for than he would like. He'd told her during class, "Math is my nemesis." As someone who does NOT have a good relationship with math, I've always wanted to make sure that my boy doesn't have the same math-related hangups, so I decided it was time to act. Toward the end of the semester, we started small group math sessions 3 times a week with Power ASC. He pouted through the whole first session and didn't want to even attempt any of the activities. He got frustrated very easily if he thought something was too difficult. Before long, he was one of the loudest kids in the bunch! I watched his confidence grow right along with his number sense, and when the sessions ended for the summer, he said "Aww man!" When I told him that he would be doing summer sessions, he said "Yessssss!" All that to say, Ms. Jones is amazing. If you have K-5 mathematicians, sign them up NOW. Group sessions, private tutoring, chess lessons--the sooner you get her interacting with your children, the stronger their math skills will be.

Let me start by saying I love this school. HAEC is a small, Christian centered learning academy…read morethat focuses on creating students who are respectful, productive, passionate, and high performing. Just as the name states, their focus is on ensuring that children are reaching their highest level of achievement. This is my child's first school experience (as a Pre-K student), and she truly loves school! During school breaks, she counts down to the days of return and is always excited to share something new shes has learn. This school's platform of excellence begins with the caring staff who ensures that she gets the attention that she needs to feel supported. I appreciate the small class size, and the personalized attention has allowed my child to flourish academically and emotionally. It's clear that her teachers are caring and dedicated to the advancement of all students. There is a clear "yearn to learn" culture wherein students wherein students have a visible enjoyment for school and strive to perform above and beyond what would be deemed their traditional "grade level." Teachers are busy challenging your child's mind every day to ensure growth and success! The school works hard to meet every students individual needs and pace, understanding that each student is unique and tailoring assignments accordingly. Individuality is fostered and nurtured at this school--there are variable academic levels, needs, personalities, etc., among the students, and you can tell they are all happy to be here as soon as you walk in. The owner, Dr. Nadra Powell demonstrates an enthusiastic and genuine passion for teaching kids and having the capability to push them forward at their pace, while ensuring that the environment remains fun as students are challenged. She is always available and always responsive. I truly feel honored to be a part of this school's community. I look forward to continuing to volunteer and support as best I can to ensure it continues to grow and excel in the future!

My daughter came here a few years ago. I asked them if they could assist with homeschool help and I…read morewas assured yes. My daughter was marked absent many of the days while at this facility in total 9 days and there was a child there with some behavioral issues, long story short they were not a very good fit for what I needed but that contract they have you sign there is no way to get out of it even if you are unsatisfied with their service. There is no reason you can use and if you do get out of this contract you still must pay a portion of the total agreement I believe it was around 40% so they will charge you to cancel basically . After pulling my daughter from the wings of Knowledge because of the atrocious conduct of another child (biting, yelling, tantrums) and the mediocre service I received I was harassed by Trina about money and her bogus contract she then took the case to court and won because I signed that bogus contract. The seemed to be a very sweet lady but will sue you if you decide you don't like her services for a legitimate reason.. you're better finding a place that lets you try before you buy I have been very cautious about little hole in the wall companies like hers especially one that forces a year contract to do business .. Parents BEWARE! I hope this is helpful.

We've been through a few different tutoring scenarios before stumbling upon this one so I went in…read morefor the intake and consultation with full on attitude, low expectations and almost wanting a written guarantee that this would work or I'd get my money back (btw, they refused that request) After meeting with the owner, I felt like she understood my oncerns and frustrations enough that I was willing to give them a try. At this point, it was summer, I was desperate and I had been given tutoring quotes from other places which were ridiculous (no lie, one company quoted $198/hr) At least, Wings was in my neighborhood AND, as I said..I was going to collect my own data and hold this lady accountable if I didn't see progress...and hold her accountable is what I did when after a month of tutoring, my son still wasn't passing. . I shared my dissatisfaction with them and they redirected their approach, became more aggressive in a nurturing way and the results became obvious. Now, I'd love to tell you that my child is an A student after only 4 mos..hes not. But he is a solid B- which is the highest grade in Math he has had in 5 years (hes normally a D and sometimes an F, we've been working on this a long time...dont judge me ) Needless to say .I recommend that you try them and post a review if your results are different.
