Teachers getting fired left and right. Every 3mths there is a new teacher. No one is ever at the front to open the door or when it's time to pick up the little ones. Kids continuing to get sick. Teachers don't wear shoes nor do they have any clue as to what is going on. Teachers have stated the owner Mrs. Ham does not respect them, tells them to shut up but due to the pay in the area, they quit and come back or stay because they need a job. When brought to the owner's attention about my child's scratches on their face or my concerns about the teacher not resolving conflict, her response "what is it you want me to do about it" YOUR JOB MAAM!!! Depending on a teacher your child has, your child is more than likely to not have their diaper, pull up, or underwear to change if it has been soiled until the end of day. There have been other parents concerned about why their child has had rashes and has broken out on their bottom, because the lack and or negligence of monitoring the children going to the bathroom. let's not mention, they have cameras, however, none of the cameras work in the classroom. So if you have a concern about your child, the answer is always "oh... I don't know, you have to ask Mrs. Ham" or "I dont know." Also, please be aware the clothes you send with your children are more than likely to end up on another child's body and you would never see the clothes you sent with them. When it comes to the "learning Academy" your child would not learn anything. Once again, it really depends upon the teacher that is assigned to your child if they stay and or last more than three months. Other than that, you are better off, teaching your child at home. Don't believe me, ask some of the moms, and or dads that come out every single morning or every single evening. Enroll your child at your own risk. So much potential but very lackluster.

While we were excited to have our kids join the Phoenix School based on the online reviews and…read morestate funded pre-K, we had no choice but to pull them out after just a few weeks. While most of the teachers seemed caring and capable, there was a toxic dynamic fueled by one particular teacher that is clearly condoned by the school's management. Virtually every time we observed this teacher we witnessed him barking orders at the kids and losing his cool. Aggressive, condescending, and authoritative. It appeared as if he was trying to force obedience through intimidation. Zero manners or etiquette used. Certainly not the kind of behavior we use at home or want modeled for our kids 40 hours per week. We gave it a little time as we all have bad days, but after multiple instances of observing this behavior we met with the school's Director to discuss the situation. We presented our concerns in a constructive, example based fashion and were met with nothing but defensiveness. No notes taken, no next steps, no anything. We were essentially told that many parents are supportive of this "no nonsense" approach and that it was more of a shtick than truly authoritative behavior. Sadly I don't believe three year olds have the capacity to precisely delineate between a shtick and someone being intimidating. At this point we had lost all confidence in the school and pulled our kids. An enormous inconvenience, but necessary. Even though we had made up our minds about leaving we felt obligated to discuss our experience to the board of the school. I asked the head of the board to call me to discuss everything three times and was repeatedly told that I had two options, come in and speak in person during their monthly meeting or put everything in writing. The director of the board later attempted to implicate that I was only voicing concerns because I wanted money back. This interaction certainly validated our decision to leave. Other miscellaneous concerns included: regular cockroach sightings, run down facilities, noncompliance to the mobile app (Kinderlime), processed food served from single-use packaging, and that we continued to receive app activity entires after leaving the school. We have since learned that there is a contingency of parents that have had a similar experience at Phoenix School. I'll again note that the majority of the people at Phoenix School seemed fine, but when it comes childcare, one weak link breaks the chain.

That spoke volumes to us when we were originally looking around because there was a lot more turnover in the last 2 preschools our kids were in. The facilities aren't the most up-to-date but the quality of care @ Phoenix more than makes up for it. There is also strong parent involvement which leads to a strong sense of community in the school.

Instead of coming into the school yelling and screaming at the staff take time to have a conversation with your child, teacher/teachers, the principal and possibly a mediator. This will help with the transition of getting settled into new surroundings. We should be operating as a common ground. Lets come together as a community and move mountains together. Let's get a hold and ahead of situations. Once we accomplish that we can accomplish anything. With a little work great things can be accomplished.

Anytime they reached out to let me know what he was doing, I was more than welcoming to talk with my son, model the behavior that was desired and show him videos so that I could collaborate with the teacher. He was doing normal 3 year old things like tantrums and not getting his way so he was getting upset. The teacher, Amanda, would tell me how much she loves my son and how she loves having him in her class to my face but would tell the current director(who by the way is new because it was not the director I signed my child up with) that he was so horrible that she would need a break from the class. I literally heard her on a voicemail that was left with her saying negative things about my son before the Director starting talking to my voicemail. It seems like you're in the wrong field if you expect all kids to have "perfect" behavior at all times! Children are not a once size fits all type of thing and every child is different and should be approached differently. And again, MY CHILD JUST TURNED 3. He's still learning! It seems like this has been a trend over time from reading other reviews. Anyway, the director called me last week to let me know about my child's behavior and that someone needed to come pick him up for the day. My bf went to pick him up and he was told they don't want him back. Now, as an educator and a parent, I called back to advocate for my son because I do actually like the school. She was willing to allow me to take my son to the pediatrician an would have a discussion the following week because they didn't want him back for the rest of the week, ok cool, that's fine. So after I took him and the Dr told me it was typical toddler behavior, I called her to let her know strategies I use at home. She let me go on and talk to which she responded they don't want him back. The communication was terrible and I don't appreciate any of those people at that school trying to villainize my son when HE'S A TODDLER LEARNING! Not a teenager, but a baby! I would NEVER recommend this school to ANYONE! And if your child does not have the perfect behavior, don't even apply! I will leave them with a piece of advice as a veteran educator: Put your teachers in training so the can learn to deal with less than perfect behavior so they don't have to "got take a break." The only reason why my child stayed at this school is because the GA-Prel program is amazing and her Teachers Ms.Gabby and Ms.Lynda are very good at their job protecting and watching over my child. The staff doesn't communicate with each other at all. I have had multiple incidents and the director (JaNice) reponds with "I'll have you removed, why are your kind so difficult." when it comes to speaking up for your kid! We have caught this location multiple times either stealing money or sating we haven't paid, which I start asking other parents and they were having the same issues with stealing and lack of communication, left feeling drained and unheard... Needlless to say, enrolli your child is at your own risk but just because a school had "academy and God incorporated" into their schools does make them the best school or the school for your child.
