With a long line, the two gentlemen were extremely nice, maintained customer service even while observing a growing line of salad lovers, extremely fair in serving portions, and when the bean sprouts were low one of the gentlemen offered to get more bean sprouts from the kitchen. I used to work downtown and never had lunch at Salata. I know, what's wrong with me? No clue. Years later, I've been coming to this Salata location fairly often. I'm in love with their Ginger Lime dressing. It's not creamy but it's a little thick with tidbits of ginger and hints of lime. Uh, LOVE. Doesn't make me feel bad that they pour a double ladle of dressing into my salad bowl either. I'm one of those who secretly think to myself, 'Yyyyeah gurl hook it up.' To sum it up, everything is extra fresh when I visit. I buy produce often so I do pay attention to the freshness. The tomato bisque and creamy broccoli soup is good but I try not to order it since those tend to have massive amounts of sodium in just a small cup. I've noticed for drinks they serve wines and bottled sparkling waters; fountain drinks and a nice variety of teas. Also, you can purchase salad dressings for about $5-$6 a bottle. This location is the worst! Im absolutely in love with Salata! The food taste amazing, always fresh with great flavor! It's gluten-free which is also an added perk! The restaurant is always clean and well-kept. However, this location has really ruined the Salata experience for me. On multiple occasions I've experienced very rude, unhappy staff. Seems like everyone there hates their life! Not only is the warm welcome and smiling faces missing (compared to other locations) they totally skimp on all toppings, even the lettuce! You get a sprinkle of everything. Example: I asked for carrots and I literally got 2 round slices in my salad. Two pieces for a huge salad - ridiculous! I really like this place for lunch, it is fresh, there are many choices and it is quick and reasonably healthy....if I did not use the Chipotle Ranch dressing so much. I personally love the salad wrap. The reason for my 3 star is that it is a different product when I order it online and it is a little disappointing. The amount of ingredients is less, I am uncertain if I even had cilantro when I requested double cilantro and I hardly gad any garbanzo beans. I love Salatas and come very often. But I was very disappointed today! I came in and ordered my usual salad but when I got home and was eating I found not one, not 2 but 3 hairs in my food!! I immediately stopped eating (which was not much) and threw the whole salad away. So mad because I made a special trip from home just for that salad. Awesome! I wish I had a salad bar like this in my house. Basically you get to create your own salad with pretty much anything you want in it (or you can do a salad wrap). There's a good variety of lettuce, vegetables, toppings, and dressings. You can choose as many things as you want in your salad. It's like $8 for a salad but the salads are HUGE! Seriously, this would make two meals easily. There is also a Greek yogurt bar which I didn't try but it looked really good. I highly recommend this place. Even if your not a huge fan of salad or despise vegetables. You can add nuts, crunchy noodles, meat, fruit, cheese, etc. The possibilities are endless! The dressings are really good too. You will end up with the perfect salad. read more

This place makes eating healthy yummy and non-suckish! There's almost too many choices- I definitely went a little cray cray on all the things that I added to my salad concoction. Bonus points for having chopped up snow peas too! The only downside to this place was the lack of a raspberry vinaigrette or something similar. Talk about a bait and switch! When this place first opened I would have given it 5 stars! They gave heaping portions of everything. It was like a healthy heaven. Went in yesterday and got a "pinch" of everything. They are more selfish with the fixings than Chipotle! They are now meticulously counting the shrimp you get. And I use the term shrimp loosely. Staff is less than engaged and any moment you take to linger and think they will start an internet order right there. They also need to invest in bigger to-go cups, as their teas are actually pretty darn good. This restaurant is located on the second floor so you can either take the stairs or the elevator to get up there. When you walk in you are confronted with a mile long salad bar. Its kind of like the burrito bar at Freebirds, except it's all salad. The lady behind the counter pulls out a giant bowl, and you just start telling her what you want in your salad. There are a million different choices, and all of them looked fresh. They also have a good selection of dressings. The fat free ones are considerably lower in calories than the regular ones. This giant salad was delicious and a good deal at $8. I think I could have made a meal out of just the salad. The tomato soup was good, and they have a huge selection of iced teas. I love the concept, but this location is really bad. It's clean and fresh inside, but they have a horrible serving system. They serve multiple people at once. So if you get there an no one is in front of you but then say 4 or 5 people show up after you, they will get out one salad bowl for each person and ask what each one wants for that part of the salad bar before moving you on to the next section. I was the first in line with no one behind me and then all of the sudden 4 other people showed up. So instead of just asking me what kind of lettuce I wanted and then moving me on, I had to hear what everyone behind me wanted as well, before we were all shuffled to the next section as a group. I was asked what kind of toppings I wanted from the first section of veggies. She put them on, and then served the 4 other people behind me. Etc...until you and the people behind you are all ready to check out at the same time. It's a stupid system - doesn't save anyone time and just makes the customers irritated. Serve the customers as they come in. It's not rocket science. Also, would like to know the nutritional content of the salad dressings (at least calories per serving) and have a couple of light dressing options. read more

I did not have a good experience here. The lady helping with my salad was very rude, and obviously wanted to be anywhere else. I asked for half kale, half spinach, I got a huge handful of kale, and about 6 spinach leaves. I was given a look that said "I dare you to say something" when I began to say something about the ratio. Then they were out of most ingredients I wanted, tomatoes, sprouts, fruit. I came at 6:15 on a Wednesday, there were three customers that had been through the line before me, they were not busy. I tried this place for a working meeting lunch today. I'd never been to any of their locations but I really wanted a salad (trying to drop some pounds). First, the place is open, clean and inviting with multiple seating options including a bar in front of a wall of windows so you can people watch while you're eating (cool!). So the setup is like Subway - just with salads. You tell the servers what you want and they add it as you wish then mix up the salad at the end for you. VERY cool. I absolutely enjoyed my selections and the added chicken was tender and very flavorful. I will definitely want to return again and try to find one close to my house. read more

The location here is great! Everything is perfect. I love that everything is cut/chopped to bite sizes. The employees here are friendly, but they don't talk much. When I walked in, there was no one, but there were people cleaning the dining area. It was nice and didn't have any smell even though there were food out. I got addicted because of this location. My co-workers have been going to the location out by Willowbrook for a while now and when they found out this location was open they were happy! I decided to see for myself what all the fuss was about. Wow! Yummy! I felt like a kid in a candy store here. You can eat healthy and have almost anything you want in your salad. Very tasty! My choice consisted of the Salata mix lettuce mix(romaine, kale,spinachamd mixed greens) along with tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, corn, mixed cheese, jalepenos, sundried tomotoes topped with grilled herb chicken. My salad dressing on choice was the homemade buttermilk dressing. As as add on I decided on the roasted tomato soup and they give you a choice of bread too. I chose the chipolte garlic. And sometimes I'm starving after the gym and probably will end up having a protein shake because I'm lazy and don't feel like cooking at 7 at night. So, Salata recently opened....and it's across from work and next to my gym. Yes yes yes. While perusing the website, I noticed I could order online for a later pick up. ...So you are telling me I can place an order for a 1:30pm pick up at 9am? Therefore affording me absolute minimal human contact and little fear of "salad anxiety" (that icky feeling when you are having a salad made and trying to decide on toppings but you don't know what will work and what will not work and oh my god what kind of dressing?! and chicken or shrimp? should I have gotten spinach? OHMYGODCHEESE.....). I was sold. The salads start at $8, and that includes a base of spring mix, spinach, romaine or a combination of all three. Then you get unlimited standard salad toppings (things like tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, carrots, beans, olives, fruits, jalapenos) and you can add chicken (grilled, pesto, asian or chipotle) for $2 or shrimp/crab for $3. Then for $1 you can add avocado. BACON IS FREE. I chose the fat free tomato basil dressing because I was being bad already and my salad was a vertitable fat bomb (chipotle chicken, olives, cukes, tomatoes, snap peas, bell peppers, jalapenos, bacon and avocado) So my salad ended up being $11. I went to pick it up a little early and the restaurant was empty. The staff was incredibly friendly and had my salad waiting...and it was FOCKING HUGE. The options are very delicious and the salads are always, always fresh. The place just smells so fresh when you walk in. In all honesty, I have never been to any restaurant as much as I've been to this one. In the past 3 months, I have gone here nearly EVERY day for lunch. I thought I'd get sick of it but it just hasn't happened. That's saying something. For those that care, here's my super-energized protein-infused salad mix: 1) Spring Mix 2) Tomatoes 3) Carrots 4) Mushrooms 5) Brocolli 6) Corn 7) Peas 8) Eggs 9) Fresh Herb Vinaigrette Dressing 10) Pasta Noodles (not gluten-free) 11) Salmon 12) Avocado And it only costs me around $11 or $12 versus other salad bars that offer you much less for much more. Well its salad and yea you cant really go wrong with salad since it all taste like meh. Unfortunately i have no choice but to eat these little bits of green as I am not 18 years old anymore. Located on the second floor of the Costco center to the side close to BW3. This is just your typical make your own salad place. You pick your greens, then you move onto the toppings (I usually get mushrooms, corns, bean sprouts etc), sauce and bread. Nothing extraordinary but like i said it is salad so i wont knock it down too much. The people are very friendly and the place is kept exceptionally clean which is good. Eating healthy at a nice clean feeling place just makes it seem like you are even healthier (Does that even make sense). There is soup and I believe a dessert side of it but I haven't touched it yet. The price i guess is slightly steep for salad but hey you pay for location and cleanliness. Oh yea I believe you can make a burrito salad but I haven't done that as I dont really eat carbs when I don't have to. read more

When you first walk in you head straight over to the lettuce selection. Pick your greens. I usually go with the Salata mixed greens. Next is your veggies and let me tell you, they got options! Yellow peppers, corn, beans, cabbage mix, cilantro, bell peppers, nuts, etc. If you think of it, it is there! Then we slide over to the meats, I have heard the chicken is good but my favorite is the seafood mix which consists of crab meat and shrimp. To be more specific, a small scoop of crab meat and 3 shrimp. Delicious yet exceptionally stingy. Now choose your salad dressing. Buttermilk ranch is my favorite. You can then select a bread and croutons. Cha-ching that'll be $11 bucks! Simplicity should never be that pricey. It is good and fresh but the price is a bit much. read more

This was our first time to a Salata. General feeling is that it is over-priced. We had 2 regular salads and one kids salad and the total came to $27. I would have expected a bit more for that, but the salads were good. My main problem was that it was our first time and they rushed us through the line. We were still trying to figure out what everything was and what was included and they had given our salad to the next server at the next station so we couldn't even get all we wanted. We told them it was our first time and could use some help. They didn't care. Once you know the lay of the land, it's good. We all three ended up with a weird mix of stuff because they rushed us through. I will probably give it one more shot. It's hard to eat healthy and quick when you eat out. Popped in to grab lunch today. It was not as crowded as I expected although I did go on the later side. I see what Marina is saying about helping 4 people at once but it's way more efficient that way. I didn't mind it. So what if you hear what other people are ordering. Plus I was the 3rd person so I got extra time to see each section and decide in advance. (It can be a bit confusing as a first time visitor.) The ingredients all looked and tasted fresh. My salad was very good and I especially liked the lemon dressing. My only complaint is that the smell from panda express downstairs made me want to chuck my new years resolutions out the window and get some orange chicken instead.
