This place does not pick up the phone. Always a recording. I think you just have to walk in personally. At first I was hopeful but never got a callback to tell me my insurance did not cover services. They allow you to leave a message but what's the point if they don't return your calls. I should have known from the beginning when I had issues with filling out forms. When I provided my credit card I had charges the next day I didn't make. Obviously the link is not secure. You might want to look elsewhere if you require consistency and reliability. Dr. Sal and his staff are absolutely wonderful. The staff checks in, follows up and confirms appointments. They are very nice. For my treatment, I am able to conduct sessions from the privacy of my own home which makes things so much easier for me. His schedule is very flexible. Dr. Sal is a wonderful man with great character and up to date knowledge on several mental health conditions. He listens and addresses concerns, gives positive feedback and great support. He administers proper medication and really cares about the result of your treatment. He allows you to have input. He doesn't judge you. I have been through several drs. in my life and in my opinion, he is one of the best. You can tell he loves his work and the well being of his patients is a top priority for him. That is VERY RARE. I am flabbergasted to see any negative reviews as that has been the complete opposite of my experience. Take the time to read the negative reviews of Sal's Psychiatry Services. The services are hugely disorganized, communication is horrible and billing is dishonest. When i received services, information was relayed incorrectly from the intake specialist/clerk/customer service rep to nurse to doctor. No one has a clue what is going on. This was just the tip of the iceberg. Getting an evaluation was a hassle and drawn out. The services were impersonal. Talking to Sal's Psychiatry Services feels like a business transaction. I ended up taking my needs elsewhere and was way happier with the service i received elsewhere. Sal Psychiatry Service is attempting to bill me for an appointment I cancelled even though the nurse confirmed there would be no charges if I attended the appointment. Weeks after I was billed for the appointment despite Sal Psychiatry Services not following their own billing policy and the nurse lying about the charge. Avoid this practice! Although they have competent psychologists on staff, their overall mental health care is abominable. They arranged for a nurse practitioner, Amaka Anyaoha, to review my meds, instead of granting me an audience with the psychiatrist who owns the practice -- and who is legally qualified to evaluate a patient's a candidacy for psychoactive medication. Is Dr. Salisu Aikoye's time simply too precious to be wasted on a mere Medicare Advantage patient? Is the shabby treatment I received all about Medicare reimbursement levels and the doctor's bottom line? His nurse-practitioner Amaka Anyaoha showed zero empathy during our brief talk. Frigid and businesslike, she did not ask questions or delve into the details of my condition. After half an hour on Telehealth SHE DECIDED TO DISCONTINUE A MEDICATION I've been taking successfully for 30 years. Now where do I go? This practice has crippled me. My ability to function fully in the world is at risk. My only option is to see a private psychiatrist and begin paying out-of-pocket for a prescription my insurance has covered for the past 30 years. I am questioning what the treatment plan is for me. Two of my main medications have been decreased. Are they to be terminated. Will they be replaced with other medications? Also it was inferred during my last session that my inability to produce an urine sample somehow lent itself to trying to do this on purpose or to hide any results this may have produced. This is an insult to me personally. I don't, and have never, imbibed in alcohol to excess or habitually. I have not taken in any illegal or lascivious drugs. These matters go to the heart of my integrity. I know a new random urine test will show this. read more

I have worked at Sal Psych/Rediscovery for 15 months and unfortunately had to put in my 30 day notice. It saddens me to say that I do not recommend working here at all. There have been inconsistencies in the 401k, PTO, sick time, and paystub payment process. I've actually lost a lot of money working here even though I was approved to take PTO and had a 401k outlined in my contract that the agency would not pay me for. I was required to report Dr (if he is actually certified) Sal to the medical board for several reasons. Beyond just not telling me what side effects the medications can have and me now having to find a new doctor to treat my bowel incontinence, moving past the fact that Sal refused to provide proper treatment because he has personal issues against working in the patients best interest, Sal claims to be an addiction specialist but denies the definition of addiction as the APA defines it. When I brought this up Sal informed me that English is not his first language and when I suggested he take enough English courses to learn and understand the definitions of words, he decided that warranted a call to the police in an attempt to have me locked up. For your safety, please do not go to this person. They should not be in this profession and are only trying to get patients in an attempt to get money from insurance companies. read more

I was placed off of work by this physician, my employer and myself asked for over a month for this physician to provide documentation which he never did, my short term disability claim and FMLA was denied, my pay was cut short and the paperwork requested by the EDD was never submitted. TLDR: Most unprofessional service provider with rude support staff which seems to be a shady call center and not a real office. DO NOT use this service. In essence, I had the exact same experience as the other reviewer. That cannot be a coincidence. Details: Monday evening: My consultation with the doctor went fine despite the background noises which I chose to ignore. I understand this pandemic has put us all in a difficult situation and I don't want to nitpick. He listened patiently, provided a diagnosis and decided to provide me some medication, tests and a letter of absence for 2 weeks until my reevaluation. Tuesday afternoon: I got an intake email and I filled the forms promptly. was able to login to the portal and verify my name and DOB. So far so good. Wednesday: no sign of prescription or tests. I called them and it went to a call-center. They took my name and number and promised a callback. nothing happened. Thursday: No calls yet. I called again. Same story about "we will call you back" and instructions to mail someone called Mary. I sent a secure message and an email to this Mary. No response. Monday: Gave the benefit of doubt to them and left them alone on Friday. No response. Called again on Monday. Someone called "Pam" picked up. She hung up on me when I told her that they were being unprofessional and I never had to chase down a doctor for a prescription and test in my life. Rude! I called up again. someone else picked up. Same story about "phone number, call back, .....". I have no hopes of getting a callback anymore. DO NOT use this service. It feels like you take someone with a broken leg to the doctor and the doctor says "your leg is broken." but does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to fix it. Absolutely ridiculous. Never in my life I had to chase down a doctor for prescription, tests (which the doctor suggested in the first place!) . I wish I had known better. read more

I work a lot and can only take certain amount of time to go to the doctor. He doesnt care. His receptionist only says he will be late. Once is okay but everytime means theirs a problem. I am not going back their today was it. Told them to refill my meds and I will not be coming back here. Doctor Sal at best is a medicore psychiatrist I had to tell him what to prescribe me. I don't normally write reviews, but I feel obligated to let people who are seeking genuine, empathetic psychiatric help know about my awful experience with Brittney Bryant today. Today we had an appointment set for 1:30, I sat in the virtual waiting room until 1:35 when I called asking if someone would be able to reach her regarding our appointment. One representative said they were getting out of an appointment that was running late with a provider, the other said there was an emergency and she was having a late lunch. I was slightly annoyed with the disconnect and waiting on hold till 1:45, but ultimately just grateful to get started. I had started with my requests regarding my medications and re-reviewing certain psych evals, right off the bat she was interrupting me, exhaling loudly when I had questions regarding medications and conditions, and not giving me any clarifying details regarding some of the symptoms of certain conditions. Then when I had requested something for sleep as I'm experiencing insomnia, she'd told me I'm, "already taking something for that" and referred to a medication that I take in the middle of the day for another condition, suffice to say it doesn't help with sleep, nor was it intended to. I then heard a muffled, but still loud exhale, clearly annoyed by me simply clarifying that it doesn't help with sleep as she then proposed SSRI (which isn't uncommon) However, the first google search regarding the medication stated it is NOT recommended to treat insomnia. When I merely asked for something catered for sleep she raised her voice and asked me "What are you trying to be put on?" As if I have some sort of agenda for my medication, which felt extremely stigmatizing for someone who has reluctantly had to take stimulants in the past for ADHD. It was clear that she's perceived me as someone who's out to use their meds for reasons outside of efficient psychiatric care, and it honestly left me in tears being painted that way. She then referred to me as "hostile" and ended the call. The only helpful person I've corresponded with in this situation was Javier, who went out of his way to schedule me another appointment for today and apologize that my time and appointment had been "wasted" with such an ordeal. Otherwise it was a truly horrific display of mistreatment of those seeking psychiatric help and blaming of a patient for simply wanting answers and proper care, truly borderline traumatizing appointment. read more

Find someone else. I should have read these reviews once my primary dr gave me the referral. I was also told he was the only one available on short notice. I arrived early to fill out documents. Appmt was at 330. Called in taken vitals and had to wait until almost 420 no problem things happen and I get it. After our dialogue i was given the option either take medication and see him once a week or be admitted into a hospital by force! I was ok with the medication and seeing him but weekly?? I suggested biweekly and I need to work. You cannot force anyone to take medication especially anti depressants let alone threaten you're going to send an ambulance To your house and taken by force. Not sure which country or era he's living in but not here! He also told me I cannot work in my condition. He laughed when I told him I need to work and have bills to pay and it'll keep me busy. He had the audacity to tell me he had another patient waiting I told him I had to wait almost 40 min so they can wait too. Very disappointing especially when they see u as a "high risk sensitive" case and be threatened and spoken to that way. I've dealt with other psychiatrist before and NEVER has this happened and I was a lot worse before. Because of insurance I couldn't see them. I'm not returning and he can threaten me all he wants. I will also relay this to my primary care and get another referral read more

I do not recommend Dr. Aikoye. First, he showed up to our first appointment 20 minutes late. Second, he was eating throughout our appointment and we couldn't have a normal conversation. Third, the appointment lasted an hour because he was asking about specific experiences from when I was a child (I'm 30 years old, I don't remember everything from my life especially as a child). And finally, he never filled my Rx and it has been a week - I'm still waiting and trying to follow-up with him but when you call the office it gets directed to some third party who only tells you that they will "take down your information and call you back." Not once have I received a callback. When I emailed the office, they told me that Dr. Aikoye is really busy and has two jobs. Why does he have two jobs when he can't fulfill the duties of one of his jobs properly? I never write bad reviews but this is extremely frustrating as I rely on certain meds to function throughout the day. Had I known this would be an issue, I would have just seen another doctor. Do not see this office/doctor if you want to work with a competent medical professional. I'm submitting a complaint to the Medical Board through the Department of Consumer Affairs due to medical malpractice. I have no more patience for Mary or Dr. Aikoye. read more
