This was one of the most disappointing professional service experiences I've had…read more The filing process was delayed with little to no proactive communication. I constantly had to follow up for updates, and even then, progress remained unclear. Although the firm markets itself under Dimov, my return was handled by someone else entirely, with no clear ownership or accountability. More concerning, I was asked to pay based on incomplete, placeholder estimates before critical items like CA Form 592-B credits and depreciation were finalized. On top of that, I was required to sign a liability waiver before they would even proceed--essentially shifting all risk to the client. For a paid tax service, this level of disorganization, lack of transparency, and risk transfer is unacceptable. I would not recommend this firm.

He is stellar. Richard uses modern digital tools like Dropbox to make it very efficient to upload W2s and other paperwork at your convenience, and is amazingly responsive to questions. Communication is direct and crystal-clear, and e-signing and e-filing returns makes the whole process a breeze. My only regret is slogging through TurboTax for so many years before Richard was recommended to my thoroughly-researching wife. The 12+ unpleasant sleep-deprived last-minute hours I save each year are worth the fair price of tax preparation from Accutax. And our tax liability seems to have dropped a bit too. We recommend this service to friends and family. The perfect reviews are well-grounded.

Upon assuming this…read moreresponsibility, I discovered that she had failed to file federal or state income taxes for a period of six years. During this time, she sold her primary residence and moved her residence from California to Virginia. In attempting to resolve this tax problem, I contacted two CPAs. One absolutely refused to involve himself in the matter, and the second ghosted me after our initial consultation where I described my issue. Aris X. Hart, Esq., and Safeguard Law quickly and professionally untangled this very complex tax situation for me. In accomplishing this goal, Aris and his team contacted the Social Security Administration to obtain several SSA-1099s, and several other entities to secure 1099-Rs, 1099-INTs and 1099-DIVs issued during this six-year period to develop a complete picture of my mother's tax situation. Aris and his team also contacted county records in California to develop a complete picture of the sale of my mother's primary residence in California. At the end of the day, Aris prepared thirteen state and federal returns. Throughout this work, Aris was extremely professional and regularly updated me on his progress in untangling my mother's tax problems. He demonstrated compassion, painstaking attention to detail, and was clearly motivated to help me in any way possible. As a result, I can without hesitation provide Aris with my highest recommendation. I look forward to working with him in the future.

However this past year he dodged my emails/phone calls, my husband's emails/phone calls, and my elderly mother's emails/phone calls (we all file separately). He once picked up the phone and then pretended to be someone else when he realized I was calling for an update on my taxes. He lied to us about filing for an extension and took forms from my mother that he never returned. Ultimately he stopped replying entirely and we had to look for a new accountant, several months after the filing deadline. I just got a notice that I owe several thousand dollars in late filing fees because it turns out he also lied about getting an extension. I don't know what is going on and while I wish Steven no ill will, please do not work with this firm or him. I don't want this to happen to anyone else.
