I've been a client of Dimov Tax for nearly 10 years, but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. During the past five years, I've noticed a clear shift in how the firm operates--communication has declined, staff turnover has increased, and overall service quality has dropped. After paying nearly $1,800 upfront for my 2025 business and personal tax returns, I experienced over a month of delays with little to no clear communication. Despite multiple follow-ups, I was repeatedly asked for information I had already provided, which showed a lack of internal coordination. On top of that, I was asked to sign an engagement letter late in the process, which was not properly delivered or explained. As a client of nearly 10 years, it made no sense to receive a generic engagement letter outlining services I've long been familiar with. There also appears to be a high turnover of staff. I was reassigned multiple times, and each new person seemed unfamiliar with my account, leading to redundant questions and confusion about my LLC structure. It felt like I had to restart the process repeatedly. It's also extremely difficult to get George Dimov on the phone, and emails often go unanswered. At this point, he comes across as an absentee owner, with much of the work seemingly outsourced to staff abroad who are not aligned or familiar with long-term clients. For a firm handling time-sensitive financial matters, that level of disconnect is frustrating. Even more concerning, there was a separate incident involving a former employee, Bob Liu, who went rogue and took client information, including mine. He processed one of my tax returns independently, and to this day I have never received a copy of that return. I had to notify George myself, as he was not aware of the situation. This directly impacted me by delaying a construction loan process I was pursuing with a bank. Most recently, after having over three months to prepare my returns, the firm still filed my tax return incorrectly. That was the final straw for me, and I ultimately decided to terminate my relationship with them. I also ended my payroll services with them. Despite paying $100 per month automatically for 38 months, they claimed I owed an "outstanding balance of $5,700 for 38 months of services." This was completely false, as I have proof of every payment. This situation highlights the disorganization of the firm and the constant turnover of staff who clearly are not aligned or aware of long-term client accounts. Overall, I can no longer recommend this firm, especially for clients with multiple entities or complex tax situations. P.S. The reviews here feel misleading. I've noticed that the owner is quick to respond publicly to reviews, yet does not follow up with his actual clients. This was one of the most disappointing professional service experiences I've had. The filing process was delayed with little to no proactive communication. I constantly had to follow up for updates, and even then, progress remained unclear. Although the firm markets itself under Dimov, my return was handled by someone else entirely, with no clear ownership or accountability. More concerning, I was asked to pay based on incomplete, placeholder estimates before critical items like CA Form 592-B credits and depreciation were finalized. On top of that, I was required to sign a liability waiver before they would even proceed--essentially shifting all risk to the client. For a paid tax service, this level of disorganization, lack of transparency, and risk transfer is unacceptable. I would not recommend this firm. read more

I've been very disappointed with my experience with Dimov Tax to date. I had my first intake call on March 18th with Galina and I had clearly mentioned the context of my tax situation, me not being a citizen, living overseas etc. and she had mentioned to me then that the team will make sure to take into account when preparing my taxes this year. After I decided to proceed with the firm, they handed me off to another CPA Marcus Vickers, he was clearly not briefed on all the context I shared on my intake. After I made payment, I never heard anything despite multiple emails, only when I called on April 16th to confirm that the extension had been filed was I provided an answer. After that, when they sent me my proposed tax filing, I asked again that all the necessary considerations had been made for my tax return given my international status. Marcus had no idea I was not a citizen and living overseas, despite me making that clear in my previous call AND over email. Also, I asked additional clarifying questions about tax liabilities given my international situation, Marcus seemed clueless about basic things like the substantial presence test which I brought up on the call and I was just told these were things he needed to look into. I allowed for more time for the follow-up and when they eventually did with the updated returns, there was no proper explanation on what had informed the decisions the firm decided to make on my returns. No call, no email just the return forms filled out, despite all my questions on tax strategy etc prior. Their lack of experience and terrible service was made clear to me especially when I consulted two other tax firms after this and realized detailed tax strategies they provided were truly far beyond what Dimov Tax provided to me. I have absolutely no confidence that the firm is acting in favor of the clients at all, nor in their knowledge and expertise on international tax matters. PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION IF YOU DECIDE TO WORK WITH THEM, their behavior is consistent clearly with all the negative reviews being left online. read more

I would recommend you avoid Dimov Tax at all costs, otherwise be prepared to bear extra costs. After contracting with them at the start of February, communication steadily dropped off to the point responses could take several follow up emails. Then we were told we would need to file an extension - not a huge issue in and of itself. After multiple follow up emails to check on the status of the extension we weren't told it was formally filed until April 13. Then we receive an email on April 16 telling us we owe tens of thousands of dollars in taxes more than we ultimately owed and that not paying the estimated amount before April 15 would incur penalties. This is despite the fact we received this email on April 16. After raising our concern that we paid added penalties as a result of their delays and lack of communication, and that we both would not use them in the future and felt they should pay the late penalties, we were offered a $300 credit for future service. This doesn't even cover the penalties. I would encourage anyone considering them to go over to Reddit. I cannot substantiate any of the claims there, but the allegations of fake positive reviews and reimbursement to take down negative reviews makes a lot of sense given our experience. read more

I will start by saying Dimov Tax Specialists came highly recommended. Unfortunately my experience has been nothing but negative. First warning bell is they make you pay upfront for services. I ignored that concern since they did come recommended to me. I provided what I thought was all my documents but asked for a consultation to review for accuracy. That was back in February. It is now May and I have received no consultation, had to do my own extension since no one responded to over 10 emails I sent (over a 4 week period), and am still waiting on my completed return. I ended having to send additional documents on April 17th when I realized I initially missed some (aka the consultation would have prevented this). I've written twice in the last week for updates and received none. My POC is Renato Alcedo, however, other staff members and George have been on all correspondence with no response. Now I can only hope they actually didn't run away with my money... which was overpriced to begin with. read more

However, all other emails failed to include the identity of the person I was dealing with (Name, title/position, company, contact info etc) - all the things you expect a professional to include. The turning point is when I was asking about services and cost structure I was hit with a series of questions that clearly illustrated that I was not communicating with a licensed CPA. I was very clear in asking for a licensed cpa to contact me within a reasonable window of time, and they did not comply. This company relies on poorly trained marketing assistants that impersonate the owner and do not take ownership of their communications. The experience started off fine, but quickly became atrocious. First, the pros: - service is prompt, professional, competent and, as far as I can tell, thorough; - you know what you pay for. I described my requirements, paid a retainer and promptly get my returns back; - you get a $50 referral bonus. There's a caveat though - see below. Now for the cons: - you do not get to choose your preparer, and the service you receive varies. The friends I referred dealt with the same person for both the draft of their returns and the final versions. He scheduled a phone call for a final review, laid out his recommendations for next year and reviewed the estimated tax payments to make sure there won't be penalties. For my returns, I dealt with two different people. When trying to follow up with them, both seemingly fell off the face of the Earth. Even though you are instructed to always hit Reply All when responding, it took me 3-4 times to elicit a response and it was never from the same person I dealt with before. No phone call to review, advise etc. either. - The bonus... Soon after getting the draft of my returns I referred a friend. Several weeks or perhaps months later I received a bonus code. To claim your bonus, it turns out, you have to send in your bonus code and then you get your bonus once your "referee" pays up. Since my friend has had already paid his fee I'm SOL. In consolation, I was assured though that I will have plenty of chances to earn it, as the bonus stays valid. Relief! read more

Would not recommend. They have so many great reviews but my experience with them was horrible. I got tossed around to several different people at his firm, caught their mistakes for them, and almost got the wrong tax return because they didn't know what they were doing. Honestly, a horrible experience and would not recommend for the average person. For extra context, not only was it clear through my emails that I was frustrated, I clearly stated in one my last emails that the entire process was confusing because of what I described above. This was never addressed. While I could go through every email and breakdown each sentence to counter the owner's response, I won't. He and his staff should have provided good customer service when it was clear that wasn't happening. Outside of his attempt to call me which I did ignore (he only cared once I posted a review), George Dimov is twisting the truth to his benefit and should be ashamed for treating customers like this/handling people's money in this way. First off these reviews have to be fake on google. This company is horrific, first off they show up as a local tax company in Philadelphia. Lie 1, they are a national accounting company and have no idea how to file local taxes with the city of Philadelphia. It's July 27th and my local taxes due on April 15th still aren't paid, they have no clue how to file my local taxes. Next problem, I still haven't had my federal taxes filed from 2024 and it's July 2025 because the accountant put a temporary address I was renting as my address with the IRS which caused an audit. THEY CAUSED AN AUDIT, great accountants cause an audit lol. Now I have to submit proof of all my tax documents to the IRS. None of these accountants work in a central building because they are a large national operation and these accountants are working at home so you don't know where your accountant is going to be based out of and they clearly don't run background checks on these "accountants". I was just told this past week that my accountant who still hasn't filed my local taxes which I'm sure I'll be penalized for is no longer with the company after not hearing back for months about him not mowing how to file local taxes. By the way you only get a 10 minute phone interview when you become a customer and pay $3,000 to file your yearly taxes, which are still not done yet. $600 to file your quarterly taxes which you have to pay every quarter. This company is twice as much as my local accountant and caused an audit. Do yourself a favor and stay local with your tax service. An actual local company not some glued together network of random accountants they remote hire for work and overcharge for. read more

Dimov and his team have been helping me for years with my taxes the service has always been phenomenal. I basically upload my forms & in a few days, they have results for me to review. Last year we a bit more complex and we filed an extension, which they handled for me & it really removed the stress from the deadline (I will do that again next year). I am your typical case of W2 + 1099 income from multiple sources - I have my full time job, side hustle, and also deductions for graduate school. The Dimov team have always been attentive to me, responding to my emails and texts quickly, and providing end to end support. My favorite thing about working with them is the flexibility.
