We were charged incorrectly and PAID and then checked our card statement it shows $9 more than what we paid in store. Originally the owner says she will help us and we were rung up incorrectly and she specifically said to come to the store and show her the amount charged on my card to see what the issue is, we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt before calling and disputing the charge because we have been coming for YEARS since they first opened! I called back and said I am coming to show her the charge to get it fixed, she says "tell your friends and everybody you want to, I can tell everybody else what you are doing!" WHAT AM I DOING? I was coming to get this fixed after being a loyal customer for years. Their attitude is horrific and I see why the place is empty every day of the week. I DO NOT recommend this location whatsoever, the food was extremely overpriced and it was not even worth the money. The food was not good, the restaurant is dirty, the workers and disgustingly rude and would rather drive their business into the ground than just talk. I was not rude on the phone and was not accusing them of anything, I was told this morning to come by there after work and talk to them and get it fixed but I was immediately launched into by them. Excellent food with an entertaining show. Each time you go, you'll have a little bit of a different experience as the different chef's each have their own flair and style. The amount of food was plentiful, and everything tasted delicious. I LOVED the sauce they put on teh shrimp appetizer and the meats. Between two of us, we got shrimp, steak, and chicken, and each was perfectly cooked, tender, and tasty. We had some lovely people sitting at our table, so it was nice to have conversation with others, too. I will DEFINITELY go back! read more

So this is more of an updated review. I went there after a very long time because I want to really like this place since I love everything Japanese and it's close by. Wow, big different. The vegetables were sweet. The rice was decent for what it was, though the "scoop" style annoys me presentation wise. I ordered steak medium rare, anything beyond that and you lose all the flavor of the meat. While I didn't tear a piece apart to check it, by mouth feel it was spot on. The shrimp are to die for. I am extremely picky about seafood. After trying the shrimp, I will be back again and again now. This time the sushi tasted fresh. Warm rice, wonderful. I highly recommend the Sakura roll. Excellent. This wasn't the cold grocery store tasting sushi I had last time. One order is enough to satisfy anyone. I felt stuffed towards the end. So good and also healthy if you don't swallow mounds of white sauce, of which you get two per order. My advice is to use as soy sauce, just enough to enhance flavor, any more is too much and ruins your food and it is very fattening. My order was accurate and amazing. I don't know if they gave their old chef the boot, or what happened, but wow. Huge difference from my last few visits so long ago. So well done, Sakura. You have went from a one star review to four stars. Expand your menu to include more of a variety, such as inari sushi, donburi and pork cutlets, etc. Then I will happily update to five stars - as well as visit more. read more

This restaurant has always been delicious and underrated. This is yet another local favorite for some quick hibachi take-out.

We've lived close by for 2 years, but have always been hesitant to try Sakura because the parking lot is always empty. We finally decided to give it a try and realized they do a ton of take out orders (I guess that's how they stay in business with a consistently empty parking lot). Anyway, the food was delicious and the meat was very good quality and tender. We will of course be eating there again! read more

I've loved it ever since my grandma took me there before I could drive and let me say don't let the empty parking lot fool you they do tons of takeout and their food is above takeout quality it's way better than expected! Very similar menu to other quick-order Japanese restaurants, but perhaps my favorite. The only thing I didn't like was the teriyaki sauce but my husband did so I think that's just a personal preference thing. Definitely recommend! And VERY clean restaurant! read more

The cream cheese would melt in my mouth because the sushi rice was warm. Sushi was always on point though. I've ordered every dish on the hibachi menu and they all lack one thing, salt...and I love my salt cooked in my food. The service is like Fuji restaurant. It would be a lot better if there was a waiter. I prefer a menu at the table and someone taking orders rather than waiting in line to take make orders. I ordered take out, they were quick to answer, courteous, and took my order rapidly. When I drove over to pick up the food I found the place PACKED and still received my food quick and hot. The place is super clean and everyone who works there seems very nice. As for the important part- the food- It's a hefty portion and really tasty. Sushi was warm, and not just room temp warm, but almost as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp. Any time I've ever had fresh sushi, it was prepared and served cold (unless fried). Also, although the roll looked tight, it fell apart once picked up. The hibachi chicken and scallops was just okay, only including zucchini and broccoli for vegetables; I personally also like sweet carrots. I would personally rather drive to Spartanburg or Greer for better quality - could name a couple but I'll not do that. The service was fast, the employees were friendly. Like others have mentioned, this place is super clean, the owners and/or staff are very friendly, and the service is fast. That, however, doesn't mean that the food is lacking. We had hibachi shrimp that were surprisingly large and perfectly sautéed. The sushi was fresh, and the fried vegetable dumplings were crispy and tasty. I go to this place a lot because it is the closest restaurant to where I live that sells Sushi. It's okay. It takes a while for food to come up even if you're the only one in there.
