Terrible experience. From the moment we walked in, the woman at the front desk was practically shouting at us to choose between a la carte or all you can eat. No breathing room, no hello, just pressure. We literally stepped aside to let other people go first so we could think. The food... honestly, it looked and tasted like someone microwaved a pile of vegetables and dropped it on a plate. The sushi was bland, the udon had zero flavor, and everything felt like it had been made days before. Nothing fresh, nothing enjoyable. When we decided to cancel two dishes, our waitress instantly shifted from uninterested to annoyed. She already acted like she didn't care, but after removing the dishes from the check, she looked at us like we personally ruined her whole week. We still left her a tip just so maybe her day wouldn't be so rough. Bathrooms were another disaster. The men's bathroom smelled awful. They had six urinal air fresheners, which tells you everything about what they're trying to cover up. Overall, uncomfortable service, bad food, and a place that feels like no one really wants to be there, including the staff. We left disappointed and won't be returning. read more

This was not my favorite stop by far. They had great online reviews and that had my attention but I quickly realized the reviewers were not Yelp reviews! They are known for all you can eat and it's not high quality sushi. My best advice is there are a lot of options on this main exit so you should keep looking. My husband and I visited Sushi Kingdom on 6/1/25. We had placed a couple orders on Door Dash prior to this visit and thought the food was pretty good, so we decided to dine in, since we were in Greenville. First of all, you have the option to order individual items/meals or the all-you-can-eat sushi meal. The all-you-can-eat sushi is pretty reasonably priced; however, all tables have a 2-hour window in which to order and consume their meal. This policy was explained by the server when we were seated. Also, I arrived about 15 minutes prior to my husband, and I was encouraged to wait to order until he arrived because the clock starts when you place your first order. In fact, I had ordered a sake while I was waiting, but I didn't get it until after my husband had arrived due to the policy. I get that they need to have a flow of guests to make a profit and that an all-you-can-eat option could potentially create a bottleneck, BUT, the time limit created a sense of urgency that I don't usually have when I eat out. In addition, there was an additional charge for any food that was leftover during our two hour limit. I get it: they don't want to encourage waste and they don't want people loading up food containers to take home. HOWEVER, I felt compelled to eat quickly and eat everything that was served in order to avoid being charged an additional fee. It created an experience that felt rushed and punitive. Also, the service was S L O W. I started to wonder whether this was intentional. The staff was slow to clear plates and slow to take orders. I felt like this was their way of controlling how much food was ordered, served, and consumed. There was a period of 15 minutes when I didn't even see our server on the floor. I wondered if she had been sent on a break during our 2 hour limit. The bright spot of our visit was the seafood soup my husband ordered. It was delicious; however, it took a good 15 minutes for it to be delivered to our table. Awkwardly, I had 2 items delivered to me during that time. I was eating my salad and Rangoon while he just sat there with nothing but water and iced tea. Not the ambiance I prefer for date night. We moved to SC from CA 9 months ago. We had access to multiple sushi restaurants back in CA, nearly all of which offered an all-you-can-eat option, but none of the restaurants we visited in CA had a time limit, so that was a dynamic. I disliked it so much that it will prevent me from returning to Sushi Kingdom. I prefer to have a meal in a comfortable, clean environment at my leisure. Speaking of clean, the women's restroom was gross. The lock on the stall door didn't function so I had to hold it closed and it was clear it hadn't been cleaned recently. A week after our visit to Sushi Kingdom, I read an article in The Greenville News online (A.J. Jackson, 06/03/2025) that Sushi Kingdom 117 Woodruff Rd., Suit A in Greenville (the one I visited) failed their Health Inspection for scoring "above a 78 and still received 'C' grade in May" 2025. I wish I had known that prior to my visit. The only photos I took were of the menu prior to our food arriving, as I was worried about remaining within the time limit during our visit. We arrived at 6:30 and left at almost 9 pm, not because of excessive sushi but because it took 30 minutes per role to be sent to us( ordered all of them at the start), sushi was okay, but the restaurant also being freezing cold, loud, also there was throw up in the urinal? I always love going to this place. There are TVs everywhere, usually broadcasting sports, for you to look at. If you keep your party small, the service is pretty quick. There's two separate food teams. There's the sushi team and the prepped food team. If you want a steady stream of food, make sure to order from both. The place looks good but the plates show their age with varying quality of cracks and chips. My favorites include the takoyaki, shumai, tuna tataki, and pepper tuna from the prepped team, and Godzilla, Green Dragon, Rainbow, and Eel form the sushi line. But yeah, in general, for their special rolls, monster roll is the big favorite for the fried sushi lovers and rainbow rolls were the favorite for light sushi lovers. Crazy dragon is a big dub but the salmon lover don't slouch either. For their teriyaki, nothing really stood out. It wasn't it for sure. Best would probably be the chicken. For the hibachi, again, it was kinda weak. Best was the shrimp. Steak and chicken are good too. Yakitori comes with too much sauce. No go for me. Crabmeat tempura is the best one overall. Imagine eating a fried cheese stick and that was kinda the experience. Followed by shrimp tempura. Not a fan of their katsu, it was pretty dry. Their fried rice that we got was pretty eggy and because of that, it was pretty wet. It was like the fried rice you cook if you don't use day old rice. I don't know if this is a common occurrence, but I turned me off enough that I didn't wanna find out. Oh yeah, none of the above stuff you order comes with rice, which is realllllly nice of them. I took 12 family members to Sushi Kingdom for my birthday thinking we'd have a good time celebrating together. Instead, it turned into one of the most ridiculous restaurant experiences I've ever had. When we arrived, they told us they had a "new rule" that if everyone at the table doesn't order the $30 all-you-can-eat option, you can't sit together. Three people in our group didn't want all-you-can-eat, so they refused to seat all 12 of us together. Fine... but what happened next made it even worse. They sat 9 of us all the way in the back of the restaurant, and there was literally an open table right beside us. Instead of putting the other 3 family members there, they sat them at the very front of the restaurant, completely separated from us like strangers. I politely asked the manager and the owner if they could move them closer so we could at least talk and celebrate together. Their response? Completely rude and dismissive. It honestly felt like they were punishing us because everyone didn't want to pay the $30 for all-you-can-eat. They acted like we were going to steal food from each other or something. The craziest part is even the waiter for both tables agreed the rule was ridiculous. And the hypocrisy didn't stop there. There was a sign clearly posted saying NO outside food or drinks, yet the table right behind us brought in a whole birthday cake to celebrate -- completely breaking the rule -- and nobody at Sushi Kingdom said a word about it. So apparently the rules only apply when they want to pressure customers into spending more money. Instead of enjoying my birthday dinner with my family, we were split across the entire restaurant because Sushi Kingdom cared more about squeezing an extra $30 out of people than basic customer service or common sense. If you're thinking about celebrating anything with family or friends there don't. Sushi Kingdom would rather treat paying customers like criminals than actually let families enjoy a meal together. Zero Stars if I Could... This place was a complete disappointment from start to finish. The bathrooms were filthy, with rusting doors, and the floors throughout the restaurant were sticky. The kitchen area looked like it hadn't been cleaned. Our waitress acted like she'd rather be anywhere else; moody, uninterested, and not welcoming at all. The food? Even worse. The "fried rice" wasn't fried at all it was soggy, extremely sour, and completely inedible. Wasn't even sure what I put in my mouth! Ugh. Genuinely the worst restaurant I have been to in my entire life. I immediately threw up and had severe food poisoning after eating. The management does not care. Almost everyone who works there is rude. One of the waitresses likes to talk trash behind peoples back too apparently. The bathrooms were disgusting. Long wait. Idiotic policies and rules if I pay for food I should be able to eat as much or a little as I want without a penalty for getting full too fast even though I left hungry because I threw up. First time coming here, after seeing the reviews we decided to hit this spot up. Cool ambiance inside, the staff all seemed very nice and friendly. It's AYCE (All You Can Eat) for about $28.95 a person. The food itself is not bad at all. I've been here multiple times for dinner and have always done the all-you-can-eat option. The quality of the sushi and sashimi is excellent, and the restaurant offers a wide variety. Besides rolls and sashimi, you can also order salads, soups, cooked dishes and desserts. The service is usually pretty good, and the food comes out quickly. It can get crowded on weekends, but it's a pleasant atmosphere. The only downside in my opinion is that the restrooms could use some attention. read more

Me and 5 others (a group of 6) was sat almost immediately on a Friday night around 6:30. We got our first order of food in and placed our drink order. The first round of food ordering took about 30 minutes for all of us to get our food. The food was amazing. Everything we got was good. We ordered another round of food and there goes another 30 minutes of waiting. Some of our orders had duplicates and some just never came until 20 minutes later while we put ending our meal. We ordered ice cream and two of us ordered fried Oreos. The ice cream took 10 minutes to receive and we never got to fried Oreos. It ended up being around the two hour limit when we left. The weirdest experience I have had at a sushi restaurant. We came in and were told about the flat rate all you can eat price. We ordered, the food was ok. When we were done we had several pieces of un eaten sushi because our last rolls were not all that great. The waitress flips over a piece of paper on the table that we had not touched (I thought it was just a drink menu) and there was a whole page of rules apparently that we did not know about. One of the rules was that they charge a dollar for every uneaten piece of food. I never thought a restaurant would use extortion to make me eat food I don't want to eat. I've visited Sushi Kingdom twice. I recently went and discovered they changed their menu. Some items were removed and I saw new sushi rolls added. It was a Saturday so we waited about 30 minutes but that didn't bother me too much. Our server was friendly and nice. Food took a little longer but it was so busy, we understood. One of my boyfriends sushi rolls took over an hour and then we realized it was just sitting on the counter the whole time. When our server checked, she brought it right to us. The sushi itself isn't bad. It's pretty good but pretty basic rolls. I can imagine it's because they have to turn them out so quickly. We tried some of the hibachi items which are provided in small plates. Those were good as well. It's not a place I would crave sushi from, I think we have higher quality sushi places in the upstate but I enjoyed it overall with the fun aspect of AYCE. Be careful though, they charge for uneaten sushi to prevent people from wasting food. Makes sense but just make sure you pace yourself instead of ordering 10 rolls at once. read more

I came here for the AYCE Dinner and there are so many options to choose from. For 3 adults, the cost came out to about $90 with tax. My siblings and I got a variety of foods to share - apps, sushi, hibachi, and dessert. For apps, we got shumai, tuna tayaki, gyoza, and takoyaki. I didn't eat the shumai but my brother had ordered twice so it must have been good and he also enjoyed the tuna tataki. Gyoza is a typical one you'd get at a buffet and I enjoyed it. The takoyaki was interesting - mushy inside (I'm told that's how it is) but I liked it too. We also got 2 bowls of hibachi steak - theyre pretty small bowls that I'd classify as apps. Very good, typical hibachi steak! LOTS of sushi - different categories (special rolls, classic rolls/handrolls, sushi). We got tamago, salmon sushi, salmon roll, shrimp tempura roll, crunchy roll, snow crab roll, and tokyo roll. I tried all except the salmon sushi and tokyo roll. I really enjoyed the tamago and salmon roll the most. The snow crab rolls is just imitation crab wrapped in rice and seaweed (I liked it but just FYI that it's not actual snow crab). Was told the salmon sushi and tokyo roll are tasty. Now for dessert, we got all the fried items to try - oreos, cheesecake, and bananas. They left more to be desired but personally we don't eat many fried desserts so this could be a hit with others! I would say the bananas or oreos ranked over cheesecake. If I could give this a zero star, I would. My wife and children and I went to Sushi Kingdom this evening for dinner and they had a sign stating that there was no outside food allowed. Our son is autistic and has sensory issues with food and we knew he would not eat there so we bought him Chick Fil A prior to going to the restaurant without any prior knowledge of their "no outside food" rule. The host and hostess still tried to make us pay for our special needs son even after we were open and honest about his condition and pleaded with them. We even asked for a manager of which we were told that the manager went home for the day and the host and hostess were still firm on the fact that everyone had to pay regardless of their health condition even if they did not eat. The young lady that waited our table was very attentive and delivered everything as requested and checked with us to see if everything was as ordered. The restaurant was furnished nicely and seemed very clean. Words cannot express my complete and utter disdain for this restaurant and the experience I had there last night. If I could give this restaurant negative one million stars it still would not even be worthy of that rating. I have never in my life experienced such a horrific and rude experience at a place of business in my life. When we entered the establishment and explained that we wanted two all you can eat sushi menus and two ala carte menus and one child's menu. When we explained what we wanted we were accosted by a woman who began to yell and scream at us at the hostess stand that "the whole table had to match and either all of us would have to get all you can eat sushi or none of you can!" The screaming that woman emitted was so shocking and shrill that half the restaurant turned their heads to look as we were being completely verbally dressed down and humiliated within seconds of crossing the threshold of the door. We proceeded to be led to a back room and seated at a larger table. At this time it is important to note we were a group of five. Four adults and one child. When our server came out we politely explained what we were trying to do and just wanted some clarification on why we had to all eat all you can eat sushi and if there was some compromise we could reach and we were told that our spouses would have to leave the restaurant if the women decided we wanted to have all you can eat sushi. The all you can eat sushi is the whole reason my friend and I wanted to come and we brought our spouses and their child along for a family outing. Our spouses decided to leave as they were told by the waitress that was what would need to happen for us to get all you can eat sushi. After we had to promptly evict our loved ones from the premises, just so we could have the sushi deal (only three of us remain at this point, two women and one child) the waitresses and the hostess from up front come back and the hostess begins hollering again that we need to immediately evacuate from this table as this is for large groups only and that we need to go to a small table. Once again she is yelling at us but this time in a small enclosed room. Additionally, my friend was told that unless her eight year old child orders all you can eat Sushi that her eight year old child would either have to leave the restaurant or be seated at a separate table from us. In what world is it appropriate to tell someone that their child needs to leave or be seated in a separate table away from their mother? They informed us we would have to pay an additional fee in order for the child to be able to remain at the table. At this point we are frantically grabbing cutlery and cups as throughout all of this we are still being yelled at to move as we are no longer a large group and need to be moved to a smaller table. We get to our smaller table and placed our orders and waited for our food. When I say we waited for our food I mean that I could have read war and peace cover to cover before the sushi came out. As we waited the temperature of the restaurant became increasingly hotter to the point where we had to physically remove articles of clothing. When we finally got our sushi the child was unsure how to use chopsticks but guess what? Needing help is an additional charge as there is a $1 cash only fee to get cutlery assistance. The only highlight is that the sushi was good. We ate all we could and did leave some on the plate. When we asked for the check we were informed we will be charged for every piece of uneaten food. So beware that you will be charged for food twice. You will be charged to eat it and you will be charged to not eat it. I have never once in my life been charged if I did not clear my plate at a restaurant. And please note we did not have an excessive amount of leftover food. This establishment is a scam, a farce and makes a mockery of the hospitality industry. Their operating procedures are in bad faith as they are not fully disclosing fees and charges. Our food was out fast & great quality as stated in the last review! This is such a great place to come when craving sushi! The restaurant has great lighting to make you feel cozy & it's also a very clean place. Totally recommend Also, what we really enjoy is the restaurant tells you when something is raw or not in the sushi. Not all places do that so it's a great touch! That gives the impression that they asked me to reach out just so other yelpers would see it and then they don't actually do anything regarding my horrible experience. If they reach out, I will update this review accordingly. If they do not, I will ensure that everyone I can speak to knows about how they charge you $2/single bit of food (not roll, per BITE of food) left on your plate and then limit the amount of time you can be there to finish your food. We went there for AYCE sushi on Saturday evening. We wait 30 minutes for a group of 4 which is not bad. Just be prepared to wait if you come during rush hour. You can only make reservation in advance if your group is bigger than 10. Food: pretty good quality sushi and so many options. I like that they have sashimi and yakitori options. Definitely a great spot for all you can eat sushi. Prices at lunchtime were reasonable, and the variety and the menu was great. Everything tasted excellent! I was a little disappointed with the staff because they did not tell us which roll was which when they delivered, and that led to a lot of confusion when we tried to figure out which ones had cream cheese and which ones did not. It's decorated very cute and it's a fun restaurant to visit. Next time we will have to ask for more clarification on the rolls that come out. read more
