Cute heart!

We got sat right away. Our server was ok. She seemed very rushed and annoyed in general. She took a while to take our order even though we can clearly see her at the bar texting on her phone. The chef was good. He was funny and engaging and really entertained my daughter since it was her first time at a hibachi place. Generous portions of food. Our server was slow. Had to ask for drinks multiple times. Asked for something else and didn't get it. Had to ask for our check and just waited and waited. Boo!

I'm going to give this a solid 3.4 rating. Good not great (but maybe because it was a Tuesday night) but also fun.. so I'm torn between 3-4 stars... After a very disappointing experience in Spartanburg we ended up here in Greenville for dinner. We booked for 745 reservation but got in close to 815 and served closer to 830. Meal served in this order: - Salad was over saturated with ranch dressing. I should of asked for it on the side. - Soup was very good! I had two as the wife didn't want hers :-) - Rice was prepared in front of us and was served next; Yummy sauce provided. No other sauces were offered. It was good. Does some places put bean sprouts in it? - VERY GOOD.. everyone liked this!!! - Veggies and proteins on the grill - Also very good and tasty! - No Onion volcano :-( (maybe that's old school now?) - Steak served - Yummy! - The appetizer Shrimp served - Was good but would of like this first but OK - Chicken served - GOOD! - Veggies served - Also Good! LEFTOVERS - Yes! :-) Overall I think there was a help shortage so the cook had to make everything quickly at once. Value: EXCELLENT! Needs improvement: - I guess the entertainment portion has been minimized since the last time I visited one of these places - Mixed drinks were watered down; DD had to send hers back - One family in the waiting room not wearing masks.. hello SC you are a hot spot now! - Bathroom needs cleaning more frequently

Came here for the early bird and was thoroughly impressed with the food. Our chef wasn't the best performer but he sure could cook up some good food that was actually seasoned perfectly for once. The rice didn't need any extra soy sauce, the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the shrimp wasn't overcooked. Kudos to the chef. We also got the sushi and it wasn't bad either. It had the right ratio of rice to fish to veggies. Only thing is that the sushi rice wasn't soft enough, but it's not like we paid top dollar for this. For the price of 3.75 per roll for happy hour, the quality was on point.

By far my favorite go-to Japanese the rice is always delicious and doesn't have that burnt taste like some places. Good enough portion for leftovers. Sushi is always fresh and yummy! Love going at lunch when they have their lunch sushi special. 3 rolls for $11.

Had sushi, rice was mushy and fish didn't taste fresh. Rolls were small and very skimpy with rice. Slightly better than grocery store sushi.

Our server was fantastic, professional but still fun and easy to talk to. He made great recommendations, and kept things moving at just the right pace so we could actually relax and enjoy ourselves. The food really stood out. We started with the broiled oysters, which were cooked perfectly. The steak tartare was a highlight, especially with the tableside preparation, it well balanced and full of flavor. The steak frites came out just right, and the au poivre sauce was on point. And we couldn't skip dessert, the creme brule was spot on, with perfect crispy top and smooth, creamy center. Overall, just a really solid experience from start to finish.

I started with the broiled oysters (omg) and the osetra duck fat caviar bites, which I will genuinely be dreaming about for a long time. Every bite felt thoughtful and indulgent in the best way. They also have a fantastic wine selection. I had a Chenin Blanc that was completely out of this world and paired beautifully with everything. The bartenders were outstanding--knowledgeable, warm, and clearly passionate about what they're doing. It all came together to make this one of those meals you know you'll remember. If you can grab a seat at the bar, do it. Absolutely worth it.

It was a beautiful day, so we chose to sit outside. It is a gorgeous view and the umbrellas provide plenty of shade. Not wanting leftovers, we chose to share the she crab soup and ribeye steak sandwich. Our waitress, Keera, was very bubbly and friendly. She suggested many different add ons and I chose the creamed corn. My only suggestion would be offering a smaller portion of this dish at lunch. It was delicious and I am glad we tried it. The ribeye sandwich and truffle fries were both exceptional. Having had she crab soups at different NC and SC restaurants, I thought theirs was just ok. Not bad, but nothing to make me want to come back just to order that specific item. Mike, the manager, was very visible throughout our whole lunch and stopped by our table to introduce himself. Overall a very positive first dining experience.

I must say that this experience was totally different, but just as amazing in its own way. My friend was having a work luncheon upstairs and we showed up at the end for her coworkers to meet her baby that we had in tow. We hadn't eaten yet so while they continued on to the next part of their gettogether, we snagged a table at the bar for a quick lunch. We shared the prime rib sliders and a bowl of the French onion soup. The soup was loaded with crispy onion strings on top and tons of caramelized onions down below. The prime rib sliders something I didn't realize I'd be dreaming about later. They were like the tastiest mini cheesesteaks and I could eat a platter of them if given the opportunity. It's great to see Halls from a different perspective and not as only a $500 dinner. This was the least I've ever spent at Halls but I still had an amazing experience. I need to get them on my regular lunch rotation in Charleston so I can try more of the menu.

Not pictured was the charcuterie board and Brie appetizers that were all split and devoured. What was documented was the roasted duck breast with potatoes and asparagus. The duck was roasted perfectly with the skin, crispy for the texture and seasoned divinely. Yall the potatoes were crispy on the outside, well fluffy like little clouds inside, and had a punch of flavor. The asparagus was rich with a butter and lemon note. If a plate could sing! An amazing patio overlooking one of the main streets of downtown Greenville, with a cozy interior ambiance as well. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable of the local food, drinks and their amazing wine selection. Soby's just won the Wine Spectator Grand Award (highest possible) and a Michelin recommended restaurant for 2025. And it shows. We didn't get any wine this evening, but the menu is as thick as a long novel. Anything and everything is in this puppy. Wines from all over the world, ranging from a few bucks to over $13,000 a bottle. Take your pick. We opted for some beer and cocktails, all of which were perfect. The food. This southern inspired menu with local ingredients was fantastic. We had a spicy pimento cheese app with crispy pita and pickled okra...delish! The beet and goat cheese salad was one of the best we've had. The pic speaks for itself there. The Soby's fried chicken is something you HAVE to get if you go. The best fried chicken, with the best bacon mac n cheese to complement it. Tender and juicy, crispy and flavorful...these words don't even scratch the surface of how good this dish was. Top notch experience all around. Make it a point to try it out if you haven't yet, or if you're in town for a visit. And definitely get that chicken dish, yo won't regret it.

Soby's serves Southern charm before the food even hits the table. (And if your experience is anything like mine, you will be waiting awhile for the food to hit the table.) Weathered wood beams stretch overhead, brick walls hold decades of character, and the warm lighting makes the whole room glow like butter on a hot biscuit. The kitchen hums with the kind of energy that says brunch is serious business. If you sit upstairs at the loft, there are some seats that overlook the kitchen so it's like brunch and a show. The pecan sticky bun is sweet enough to make you reconsider sharing though I wouldn't know because they ran out of it before 11:00a. Service was friendly and quick on the front end, though the kitchen's food expeditors seemed a little short-handed. The result? A slight wait that left some eggs spending a bit too much quality time under the heat lamps. My Shakshuka dish had an egg-istential crisis. Instead of that luscious over-easy river of yolk, the eggs arrived closer to hard-boiled territory--less "runny brunch bliss" and more "deviled egg audition." Thankfully, our waiter expedited another over easy egg to replace the one that came with my dish. The Providence Farm Country Fried Steak was the undeniable headliner--about 1.5 inches thick and fried to golden perfection. Smothered in sausage gravy, it was the kind of dish that makes cardiologists nervously flip through their calendars. The flavor? Steak-ing its claim as one of the better country fried steaks around. The sunny-side egg, however, had clearly spent a little too long basking beneath the warming lights alongside my shakshuka. But, if you come for one thing only, let it be the white chocolate banana cream pie. As I've heard Southern Belles say in gest, "it'll make you wanna slap your mama." In short: rustic atmosphere, an energetic kitchen, and Southern food that doesn't just butter you up--it grits straight to the point.

We were seated on the terrace by the door, which was less than desirable but still good. The chair I was in was awfully uncomfortable, but the benches were suitable. For food, we ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts, Earl Grey tea bread, chicken tamales, berry French toast, mushroom bruschetta and fried oysters. The Brussels were good and perfectly cooked. The Earl Grey tea bread was good, but too sweet for me (not a sweets person). My friends ordered the chicken tamales and berry French toast, respectively, and enjoyed their meal. For me, the menu didn't have anything that caught my eye, so I made a meal of the small plates. I love mushrooms, but I felt that the mushrooms in the bruschetta needed to be chopped. Their meaty texture and large pieces made it less than desirable, even though the flavor was good. The oysters were well-cooked and served in an ample portion, but with cocktail sauce rather than aioli. When asked, she brought me the paprika aioli that's on the Brussels sprouts. Still, I think a lemon-and-herb aioli or a lemon-and-horseradish aioli would have been more appropriate for a fresh brightness to cut through the breading. It was almost a good meal, but oftentimes the devil is in the details.
