But this particular Manmaruya is especially unique than the rest, even they have a different menu here. This is because they offer Yakiniku or Japanese BBQ. We had Beef Tongue and Pork Cheek which came seasoned ready to be barbecued. The meat was of good quality and tender. We also had Karaage Chicken, which always taste consistently good, and some mini Sushi rolls to keep the kids happy. The only disappointment I had was when I made reservation once, but when we got there on time we were made to wait for an hour for our table. There were some people there that walked in without reservation and got their table first. This happened only once, therefore I can consider this a one-off and hopefully won't happen again. But in saying that, I don't make reservation anymore in this place since the incident, I just walk in and wait like everyone else!

We've had: eel rice, pork curry katsu(?), fish bowl and some sushi. Everything was delicious, except the miso soup (it was a little salty), but it was free so I don't mind. Price was slightly on the higher side, roughly $12-18 for a meal set depending what you choose. Clean place with Japanese decorations, friendly service. Would definitely recommend!

Hubby and I opted for ramen on a cold damp day, we were going to order one each, however we stumbled upon the "Godzilla Ramen". There was a note next to the photo indicating $1 refund if you finish it alone. With that, it seemed to indicate that it may be enough for two so we ordered one of those, and a spicy tuna roll. (Trying to be frugal at the moment). Godzilla ramen - deeelicious!! The ramen came with thick slices of charshu, chicken karage, teriyaki (?) chicken, egg, corn, bamboo shoots, black fungus strips in miso broth. Definitely filling for two! Spicy tuna roll - as a person seeking the taste of a standard spicy tuna roll from Los Angeles, CA, this one was quite decent. Rather than a more minced type tuna, they did use chunks mixed with spicy mayo and Japanese chilli powder (Shichi-mi tōgarashi). It satisfies the craving. Verdict - a good go-to for ramen and simple sushi fix

The place doesn't look anything that special from the outside, and the inside decor is simple, but the food makes the experience spectacular. You're getting a Sydney CBD degustation menu at a suburban price. To top it off, I do believe the head chef (and owner?) of the restaurant came out and had friendly conversations at each table of guests. Something I have not seen before in Sydney! I'd recommend this place for a special night out with the family (or a special someone) in the shire. It's not cheap, but certainly value for money. Don't expect to leave feeling hungry. One the last dishes was a generous size piece of steak, which was quite a lot after all the smaller earlier dishes.... I will be back again.

For me the most important thing about ramen is the soup. Manmaruya has both pork and chicken soups. I personally always go for the more traditional pork based soup. I really enjoyed the one here as it is still tasty and flavoursome but at the same time not too salty unlike other ramen restaurants. The Soft Shell Crab roll was probably not the best tasting roll I've eaten but satisfied my craving for sushi that day. However it was well presented and I am definitely one to appreciate pretty looking food. Overall I thought the food is reasonably priced and the serving size was decent. SERVICE Unlike the Campsie branch this one was far less busy and so we did not have to wait to be served. The food came out within 10mins of ordering as well. VERDICT I think this is one of the better ramen places in Sydney and would recommend ramen lovers out there to give this place a try.

Each bento would have salads with home made dressing, salmon sashimi with home made wasabi, fried gyoza, seaweed salad, rice, miso soup and the choice of your bento meal. Of course the ramen isn't on the same quality as Ippudo, Ryo and Hakata-Maru, it definitely one of the best in the area (especially compared to Ajisen!). The service is awesome and the waitstaff never says no and always willing to help. Seating is nice and cosy despite the small shopfront (hate the ones where you're elbow touching with the person next to you. ...) STRONGLY recommend the Salmon Lover (18 variations of salmon) and their Nanban Chicken. The sushi train is still fairly new and don't have much varieties as Oseki Sushi, but for those that aren't fussed, this is pretty much an all stop shop for Japanese! OH!
