I went here just after Christmas with family. It's very good food at a very affordable price (~ $70 AUD pp at the time) for a degustation menu. The place doesn't look anything that special from the outside, and the inside decor is simple, but the food makes the experience spectacular.
You're getting a Sydney CBD degustation menu at a suburban price.
To top it off, I do believe the head chef (and owner?) of the restaurant came out and had friendly conversations at each table of guests. Something I have not seen before in Sydney!
I'd recommend this place for a special night out with the family (or a special someone) in the shire. It's not cheap, but certainly value for money.
Don't expect to leave feeling hungry. One the last dishes was a generous size piece of steak, which was quite a lot after all the smaller earlier dishes....
