They could give you sushi that wasn't days old and then try to convince you that it was fresh. They won't refund you. The sushi was soggy, very fishy tastings, and definitely nasty. I ordered pickup sushi from here several times & it was pretty good for Goldsboro as this just isn't really a city for sushi. Just placed a large order of 7 rolls today & wasn't expecting CA sushi but I was expecting at least fresh, flavorful food. The rice in the rolls had the oddest taste that almost made me gag... same w/the generous chunks of cream cheese in the Philly roll. The avocado while browned in some of the rolls still had a good flavor but the mango was pretty much flavorless in the NY roll. Let's talk about the spicy tuna roll.. you would think that the first word of the roll would give you some indication of how this would taste... nope! I couldn't taste any spice but what I could taste was old tuna that I had to bury in wasabi to get down. (My company was blown away that this was "spicy " tuna)... Also spicy tuna rolls aren't normally right at $10 as considered one of the more inexpensive rolls to order so for $10 plus delivery & tip, I'm expecting you not to mess up something so simple. You know it's not a good roll when the cucumber was the best tasting thing in it. I don't know if they're having an off day or the food quality has just gone way down hill but when placing a $90 order as much as everything costs these days, I certainly expect better. The salmon while tiny in quantity for the price, was the best if drowned with soy and wasabi.. That's just trying to give them something.. I still couldn't eat the rice though.. none of us could. My dog who finally ate it when I threw in the cream cheese, even turned up his nose at it initially. Hope your experience here is much better. I've eaten here a lot actually because we only live a few minutes away. The food quality has gone down hill in the last year and the prices have gone through the roof. I can eat at Kobe in Clayton or Kanki in Raleigh for these prices on sushi and hibachi. The service has always been good but this last time I ate there, I got sick a few hours later. It was not my first visit. I wanted normal fried rice and not Chinese yellow fried rice. Ordered online for pickup. When I arrived, I got their same usual customer service, like "Why are you here bothering me?" Anyways, the order was not ready 29 minutes after ordering. Why? They hadn't started it. Excuse was, "we weren't notified." No, I'm sorry, we'll throw in some egg rolls. I got a shoulder shrug and a oh well, "it'll be about 20 minutes". I then got "your order is ready." Again, no apologizes. In the end, the food is okay. Nothing special. The customer service is awful. Guess I need to find somewhere else for Japanese fried rice. We ordered the crazy roll and the Sakura roll. Both were decent and tasted fresh. We ordered takeout so were not concerned about the decor but the decor was lacking. I wouldn't go here for a date. It looks like a typical strip mall joint with booth seating. Having said that, I wasn't going there for a romantic dinner. I was going there for tasty food. If you are looking for a fast food type of food, this would be it. Restaurant prices and served on styrofoam. My first time in here was yesterday. Girl at register barely paid attention to me as I orders, so she did not put some of my things on my tab. The man that came in after me had ordered via phone and same girl gave his order to someone else. Love the rice I got but the other was iffy. One of the rolls I got looked old. Like it had been made and left in fridge. It was all over the container and the avocado on it was browning. As I waited for my food they had finished the food for the people in the two booths and sat it down on counter for 20 minutes as they talked and answered the phone. Love the egg drop soup but I've always had no problem with that whenever I've traveled. The ambiance is that it looks clean. The people are not friendly and check your food if you are taking it home. Disappointing...my husband and I stopped in for lunch. Not very welcoming decor, booths on one side, big counter to order and pay. Very impersonal, and the restaurant had a heavy fried oil smell combined with some kind of over powering jasmine wintergreen mint sweet smelling air deodorizer. But worse was the food.....the miso soup, very bland, thin, like dishwater with a little strip or two of seaweed, no tofu or miso flavor to speak of, served in clear plastic lidded tubs. You get your own little plastic spoons. The tempura sushi roll was ok, California roll, acceptable, both served in black clamshell plastic. Very ugly way to serve Japanese food. It was noon, the place empty. Zero ambience. I think for patrons that sit down to eat, there should be some attempt to serve it on dishes. Mixing our wasabi and ginger in a thimble sized plastic cup, very off putting, the flimsy little cup not big enough to dip the sushi in. No one noticed when we left, we heaped up our pile of styrofoam cups, straws, and mountain of plastic, heaved it the bin. Will not go back. read more

I've been here twice now. The first time the food was meh and I was sick after. I decided it was probably just me. The second time convinced me I won't go back. The girl at the counter seemed to not care whether I was there. Fine by me. But I ordered a hibachi dish and miso soup. They were out of sea weed for the soup but they didn't put in tofu either and didn't season it at all. Then my salad was nothing but lettuce. Which I can handle because I just want the ginger dressing. But that was all coagulated like it had been sitting for way too long. My actual hibachi entree was ok I guess but there wasn't much seasoning at all. I didn't even touch the vegetables because they just seemed like wilted unseasoned nightmares. The rice was very bland but luckily I like rice that way. I ate about a quarter of my food if that and threw the rest away. Also if you're eating in apparently they still just drop it on your table like you're eating it to go so you can unwrap it all. Worst customer service! I went in to pick up a to-go order and watched a lady bring a bag of food back inside because her order was wrong. They gave that customer my food. As I was paying they tried to hide that they switched the plates of food and gave me the food that the customer brought back. I told the employee that I would like my order remade since they gave me the food someone brought back and the employee argued and promised me that she knew the customer didn't open the food and that it didn't need to be remade. I continued to ask them to remake it and she continued to argue with me and finally rolled her eyes and remade it. She put the food back on the counter instead of throwing it away. After remaking my order she continued to argue with me that the other customer didn't open it. I thanked her for remaking it and walked away. She continued to argue as I walked away and yelled something as I walked out the door. Will never ever be returning to this place. Terrible customer service. read more

A nice little sushi place located in the same parking lot as the Rosewood Walmart. I stopped by here for a quick lunch and ordered a snow crab roll, a hurricane roll and a side order of hibachi rice. Prices were fair and the sushi tasted great, they had a lot of different items to choose from as well as specials for the day. So, it pains me to give a 1 Star, because this place used to be amazing. But the quality over the years has severely declined. To the point, it's probably actually risky to eat here now. The sushi used to be restaurant quality but isn't anymore, and the actual food is half prepared. I got sick after ordering hibachi chicken once, the woman "cooked" my food, while she was FaceTiming with a friend. Seriously. I got my food, ate it, and like clock work got violently sick afterwards. My wife and I still giving the place a chance kept returning, and just ordering sushi, because hey if that's undercooked, that's how it's supposed to be right ? Well, the quality on that has gone downhill too, much more filler than actual fish and veggies like before. And one last thing, the very last time we ate there, about three of the staff became super heated and started yelling at each other at max volume for our entire meal, and even went to pushing each other. I was in the mood for some Japanese food but didn't want to drive back to Fujis (one of my favorites). I went there and checked out the inside first since I had never eaten there. There are a few tables to eat in but the phone was ringing nonstop for takeout. It was small but clean. The workers were making sushi and another was working on the hot food. I ordered at Sakura combo which was steak, shrimp and chicken. It came with fried rice, veggies and a salad. However, it only comes with one sauce and each extra sauce is $.50. I ordered sushi tuna rolls which was such a small portion I barely taste the tuna. A few months later I called in an order for tuna rolls. When I arrived the order wasn't ready and once again the lady same presented her self in a cold rude manner. She acted as if she was doing me a favor waiting on me. She began preparing the tuna rolls on a counter that was unclear whether it was a clean surface. She pull some tuna out a plastic bag and began cutting these micro size slices for tuna rolls. Maybe had we ordered sushi our rating might have been different. This place is nearby, so we really wanted to like it. We had the Yakima soba with chicken, the yakimeshi with chicken and the pork dumplings. The chicken was dry, hard little bites, definitely not freshly cooked! This was probably one of the most tasteless dinners I've ever had, (adding salt and pepper didn't redeem it whatsoever). Also, the pork Goya were seriously over fried.
