We always sit at a regular table and our favorite waiter always takes very good care of us. The rolls were made well and the chicken teriyaki with brown rice was really good. Our waiter was very sweet with our toddler, it's nice to go there on the weekend for lunch when you have kids. I have to mention that we did not enjoy the hostess staring at us for about 80% of the time we were seated. That made us uncomfortable. She was was just parked watching us like a tv show. We will come back, that's why I'm mentioning the hostess. I hope she becomes aware of her staring problem. read more

I've had sushi at this place three times; I can't go there anymore. They have a great selection of sushi but none of it really taste that good. I don't feel like their food is very fresh, and don't get me started on the sesame seeds. I do not understand why every sushi roll has to have sesame seeds on it. Even the rolls that don't say sesame seeds have sesame seeds. If you're looking for good sushi I'd find another place. We went to Sakura with relatives visiting here from Texas. My husband was kind of hesitant to go - but the prices were reasonable at the Hibachi grill and my daughter in law got sushi (which she loves). Our dinner (my husband had steak and I had chicken teriyaki) was VERY good. The flavor was great. We had salad and Miso soup, which was very good - it just tasted a little salty to me (which is common for soups). I put some on my steam rice. We didn't know until we got there that on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday kids 10 and under eat FREE - - and we had 5 children with us!! yeah!!! THAT was nice. The kids shoveled it down - they all loved it. It is a nice, open and clean restaurant with good service. We will go there again and recommend to anyone. YUM read more

I'm not a fan of raw sushi, so it is wonderful that Sakura has a large sushi menu of cooked sushi. The Sherwood Roll is my favorite. It is a crab salad roll combination. If your getting soup, the Sekura soup is much tastier than the more bland miso soup. Miso is a soy based soup while the Sekura soup has a beef broth with sliced mushrooms and scallions. If you don't want soup, a nice salad is also available. The hibachi comes in two forms here. You can sit around the grill and partake of the preparation or you can sit at a more private table and eat your food that is brought to you by a server. read more

Awesome! Easily on par with more expensive teppanyaki restaurants I have been too Bennie, our chief did an fantastic job! And the food was cooked amazingly and to order. The fillet, chicken, and zucchini were cooked perfectly (He could speak a tad louder,but that's a small detail). Frannie, was our waitress and was on top of getting drinks topped off and making sure we were all taken care of. Over all it was a wonderful experience. Horrible experience! My husband and I go all the time here and the service has literally became so bad. My husband did not enjoy his rice and said it tasted like soap from when they clean the grill or when they wash the rice. We kindly told our waitress that he did not enjoy the rice and if he can please not charge him for it since he did not eat it. The owner or manager came by and literally was so hateful and rude and sort of yelled at us and walked off. like it's really sad how immature she reacted over $3.00 worth of rice. The service was great but just as soon as we got our food the owner of the restaurant sat behind us with her phone on speaker playing a video for 10 min so loud.... I turned around and asked her to turn it down but she didn't hear me because It was SOOOO LOUD! I had to ask the wait staff to go and ask her turn it down as that was the Rudest thing a owner of a restaurant could do. She then proceeded to talk in a different language than English as I'm sure she was talking about us and then turned it down. The food was great but the atmosphere was HORRIBLE!! I frequent Sakura quite often, and it's always really good. It's surprisingly big for being located in a shopping mall, and very clean. I am always greeted almost immediately and never have a problem getting a seat at the sushi bar. Now on the the sushi business, because that is about the sole reason I come to Sakura, as they have some of the best sushi I have ever eaten. They have several specialty rolls, and the typical sushi rolls that I've grown to love (they also have sashimi, but I'm not too crazy about sashimi). The prices are okay, but they have about three specials that are worth taking advantage of. For lunch, you can get a three sushi roll deal for $11.95, dinner it's $12.95, and they have an all you can eat (excluding sashimi) sushi deal for about $21.00. The rolls themselves are spectacular. My favorite specialty roll would be the Bryant Roll, followed up closely by the King Dragon Roll. Favorite sushi rolls are the Sherwood Roll, Crunchy Shrimp Roll, and the Spicy Crunchy Roll. Overall, I really enjoy coming to Sakura, because I feel that they sufficiently meet all my sushi needs. read more

We were in the area for a sports event in Little Rock and this was the closest sushi restaurant we could find near our Bryant hotel. My family has sushi almost every time we travel around the country, (including California, Florida, New York) and Sakura was a wonderful find! Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We loved seeing the photos and explanations of the rolls on the menu, which is a tremendous help for my 11 and 6 yo kids to order. They were not too busy (half occupied at 8:00 on Sat.) so our order came out very quickly and was fresh. The edamame was not over-cooked and was generous. The "Distinguished Gentleman" roll blew us all away and the Tempura Cheesecake with vanilla ice cream was a deliciously unique, shareable treat. We swear when we are back in the area in a few weeks we will be back to Sakura! read more

The food is over priced for the quality and most of all, the chef I have gotten two times in a row is rude & does not speak or put on a "show" as they're supposed to. I was surprised to find a great sushi bar here. The fish is fresh the presentation is superb and the sushi chef makes special items if you act accordingly. The couple next to us were sushi experts eating their California roll and complaining that the avocado portion was smaller than at the supermarket.... After card was ran and it was higher than anticipated we looked through the menu and realized there is a $3 up charge for fried rice-not a single mention of this from employee. Hey it is hibachi and sushi in Benton. Yes there are better sushi places but the hibachi is excellent and I enjoy the sushi with some nice beer any day. I would definitely recommend to anyone that lives in the Benton/Bryant area. It makes it not worth the drive to go into Little Rock just for hibachi/sushi. read more

Ate at the sushi bar, ordered 4 rolls. 2 were going to be my lunch the next day. California rolls to be exact. I paid my bill with tip. Left the location and realized I had left my lunch for the next day at the restaurant. Hit the first roundabout to turn around to go back and get the rolls. They notified me they tossed them in the trash and for compensation gave me a cold and soggy fried shrimp roll. It was not fit to eat, should even feed it to my neighbors dog. So I said ok and left. Just called to talk to them now, the next day, about the situation and ask why they felt the need to throw them away, and they said," we were closed"..... but I walked right in. I was polite on the phone but they threatened to call the law?! I never raised my voice. I called one time. Just thought it was wrong to toss someone's food without giving 5 minutes to return and grab my lunch for the next day.ive ate here 100 times. Never did I think they would treat a paying and tipping customer the way they did. I will not return. Sushi is good. But the owners have some issues that need to worked on. Satisfy the customer. I have had sushi all over the country, but this place is the best! The customer service and the owners are always very polite. Every time I get a sushi roll, it's taking care of delicately, looks beautiful and is amazing! My favorite rolls are the shaggy dog roll and the dynamite roll. I've been eating here on and off since 2007 and I'm still not disappointed, nor am I tired of eating it. A good Sapporo with your sushi only complements it! I am not sure what to think of Sakura. We went there for lunch to have hibachi, only to find out they don't start until 3 pm. What kind of Japanese restaurant starts serving lunch at 3 pm? They did have sushi, but there is more to Japanese than sushi. If I wanted sushi only, I would have just went to the grocery store where it is far cheaper and just as good. I see no need to return to Sakura. read more
