    Wild Caught Salmon Roll
    Lindsay K.

This was chosen by a classmate and a good find. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a large spot in a cute neighborhood with plenty of seating options -- you can pick the sushi bar, traditional restaurant tables, a regular bar, or another room that is a little bit more mood-lighting than bright/airy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat at the bar (different from the sushi bar, which is also an option) and had a very attentive and knowledgeable bartender. I tried the local filtered sake (who knew that Arkansas produces a large percentage of the country's rice?) and it was very nice. We each got a ramen bowl and a sushi roll. I got the wild salmon roll as I generally prefer simple rolls. The roll was very heavy on the rice, less so on the actual salmon. It was still nicely prepared and tasted good, but maybe not worth the price when you consider how little salmon you're getting out of it. I also got the Tonkotsu Ramen Bowl and added duck to it. The bowl was tasty, but slightly mild/bland -- to be fair, I asked them not to include the jalapeno because I'm terrible at handling any amount of spice. It was a generous serving and I happily took half of it home for lunch the next day. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here and I didn't think the prices were outrageous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a nice atmosphere that can lend itself to cozy casual or intimate, and I wouldn't mind coming back here even if it doesn't top my list.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely worth a visit to decide for yourself.

The food here is always incredible. I have never had a sushi roll I haven't liked and the fried rice is very good with all of the vegetables they add. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is nice with two separate rooms that have very different vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have two patios which I personally prefer over the inside but either is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waiters/waitresses are always super nice and friendly. Only reason for 4 stars is because their sushi rolls can take about an hour to come out and their takeout also takes over an hour.

For the price and the taste? Absolutely not worth it. Hot garbage at best, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I was hoping for a good meal to take to the park but this was a letdown from start to finish. The tuna bowl was bland and when I added the ponzu sauce it tasted like what I imagine cat piss might taste like...truly awful. The sake sauce on the shishito peppers was way too overpowering and for $8, I expected more than just eight peppers. As for the miso soup... I've had miso all over the world and this just wasn't it. If you have functioning tastebuds do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. The disappointment was overwhelming

Stopped here for dinner on a road trip. The staff is wonderful. The service is amazing. And the food is delicious.

California and Blue Crab Roll, Edamame, and a Mocktail

Food was fresh and tasty. I had California Roll and edamame. The Mocktail I ordered was a light, refreshing drink made with grapefruit, pineapple, and club soda. The host and wait staff were all pleasant and welcoming. If you plan on dining here reservations are recommended.

I was able to taste test these octopus bites. Hopefully they make their way to the menu because they were phenomenal

I would move to this state just to experience Kemuri again. The rolls- transcendent. The toppings selected from the sea gods themselves. The service- impeccable. When I moved to the south I didn't believe good sushi existed. After 3 years, and traveling through LR- this is it. Kemuri changed my mind. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the edamame. The garlic didn't complement it well but still 5 stars. That's how good everything else was in comparison.

We dined at Kemuri for the first time for a special occasion date night last Friday night. We had a reservation for 6:45 PM and they got us seated pretty quickly (in a dark corner?) and we started to look at the menu. Took 10+ minutes just to get waters and 35-45 minutes to get our appetizer and at that point we were starving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was busy, but not so busy for us to be ignored for so long.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server didn't introduce himself and told us to just throw a dart at the menu and order whatever because it was hard to go wrong. We had PLENTY of time to figure out what to order because we sat for so long and the food really was superb, but my partner would be hard-pressed to return because the service was exceptionally bad. Would probably return because it's the best sushi we've had in Little Rock, but would maybe have a snack before :/

Love this place! One of my favorites in Little Rock. Sushi is always fresh and I've never had a roll I didn't like. The spicy edamame, ribs, crispy rice are all delicious appetizers. I personally love their spicy rolls (crazy monkey, volcano, poison)! Service is always good and staff is all great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is wonderful for a birthday dinner or date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Chefs Plate and Princess Roll
    Sheila H.

This was my first trip to Little Rock, Arkansas. Since we were only here for 1 night we decided to go for sushi. This restaurant was fantastic! I was so hungry I didn't get pictures of the starters. We had the edamame, mussels, and tuna tataki, which was absolutely delicious. The edamame had just the right amount of garlic salt, the mussels were in a coconut lime sauce which was perfect, and the tuna had a thin crust of spice but it was not overwhelming. I had the princess roll with the jalapeños on the side and my husband had the Chefs Sashimi plate. JD our server and he did an excellent job of explaining the menu., which is extensive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great ambience throughout the venue.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend this restaurant for great sushi dishes

New Orleans Approved!…read more As New Orleanians and self-proclaimed foodies, my wife and I have pretty discerning palates when it comes to seafood. While visiting Little Rock, the technician who was doing my wife's pedicure recommended her brother's restaurant, The Oyster Bar. We already had reservations elsewhere, but after looking at The Oyster Bar's menu, we canceled our original plans--and we're glad we did. Food (10/10) Hush Puppies (10/10): Quite possibly the best hush puppies I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, with jalapeños that added just the right amount of heat without overpowering the flavor. Crab Claws (10/10): Outstanding. They reminded me of a favorite dish from Copeland's back home in New Orleans--hot, buttery, flavorful and served in a generous portion. Seafood Combo (10/10): Fried Oysters (10/10): Perfectly fried with a crisp exterior and a creamy interior. Well seasoned and absolutely delicious. Cheese Grits (9/10): Rich, creamy and cheesy. We paired them with the shrimp scampi and essentially created our own version of shrimp and grits. Shrimp Scampi (8/10): The shrimp were plump, juicy and cooked well, though I would've enjoyed a bit more seasoning. Crab Cake (10/10): The standout of the meal. This crab cake was towering, packed with what seemed like 99% crab meat and full of flavor. The seafood combo is a great value. Chocolate Cheesecake (9/10): Smooth, creamy and chocolatey. Cheesecake isn't usually our first dessert choice, but we're chocolate lovers, and this one definitely delivered. Piña Colada Mocktail (9/10): Sweet, smooth, refreshing and loaded with pineapple flavor. Exactly what I look for in a tropical mocktail. Service (9/10) Our server, Tallon, was friendly, attentive and genuinely hospitable. She was efficient, checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. It's always refreshing to have a server who doesn't disappear after the food arrives. Ambiance (8/10) The atmosphere is casual, bright and airy with a comfortable noise level that makes conversation easy. If a couple from New Orleans--where great seafood is practically a birthright--can enthusiastically recommend The Oyster Bar, that's saying something. We'd happily return the next time we're in Little Rock.

The fried okra appeared to be whole baby okra. I have never had it prepared that way and found it to be very pleasing to the palate. The mustard greens were equally delicious. The service was slightly disappointing, which led to a four star rather than five star rating from me. The restroom is on one corner of the restaurant. Unfortunately, we were seated in the farthest corner from that restroom. It's a fairly large building with multiple rooms. Going forward, I will ask to be seated closer to the restroom. My mother has dementia and the distance to the restroom made things a little difficult for us. It might be also be difficult with small children.

The shrimp and grits definitely lived up to its hype! I ordered the half order of shrimp and grits, the grits were perfectly made and also came with six of the most juiciest shrimps. The only thing that I would change about this dish is to either make it slightly cheaper, because it was pretty pricey for the small amount of food that you get, or there should be a little bit more grits. Other than that, the meal was great. The waitress that I had was very attentive and professional, she helped me with everything that I needed and was timely when it came to placing the order and serving food. Update: We came back and specifically requested to sit in Randy's section, and I'm so glad we did!…read moreWe were seated in the charming little window spot and welcomed with Randy's warm smile. It felt like we were catching up with an old friend, even though we'd only met him once--more than a year ago. Everyone was incredibly kind, from the hostesses to the manager to our phenomenal server. For our entrées, we chose the chicken and the halibut, and both were absolutely outstanding. The biggest surprise, though, was the sweet potatoes! Randy explained how they're prepared, and let's just say it's far beyond my kitchen skills--which means I'll definitely be back for them. We ended the meal with the blueberry bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream, and it was the perfect finish. Paired with the delicious cocktail Randy recommended, I was in heaven. I live more than 2 1/2 hours away, but anytime I'm in town, this will absolutely be my go-to restaurant. Outstanding food, exceptional service, and an experience that's well worth the drive.

Unfortunately, the bartender seemed to have no sense of urgency. Instead of checking in with us, she spent an extended period chatting with the departing patrons who had already closed out. Meanwhile, a manager was standing at the end of the bar the whole time, seemingly aimless, and never stepped in to redirect her or check on us despite how obvious the situation was. After several minutes with no drinks and no acknowledgment, I had to walk over to the hostess stand myself just to get a menu. Twenty minutes in, we still hadn't received our drinks, so we told her to cancel the order and let her know we were leaving. She genuinely seemed surprised when we explained how long we'd been waiting, which was surprising in itself given she was the one who left us sitting there -- and the manager standing right there did nothing to help. With only two other guests at the bar, this should have been an easy shift. Disappointing experience and won't be back!

Unfortunately, my experience was EXTREMELY subpar. There were only THREE menu items available and were extremely overpriced for the ingredients used as well as the quality and portion size. I only had $20 in cash on me, because by the way, they're mostly cash only, so the only thing I could order was the " hood noodles". That honestly should've been my red flag right there, but I wanted to support a local black business. Not only was the owner or the food truck manager, extremely RUDE and DISMISSIVE to concerns I had about my order accuracy (at the time of ordering), but the wait time was 25 minutes for some REHEATED Ramen noodles, jar Alfredo sauce, overcooked shrimp WITH the shell on, and OVERLY salted and seasoned food. I'm someone who loves flavor, but that plate was walking hypertension. Also, eggs were supposed to come with my order, and there was none in sight. The most edible thing on the plate was the sausage and that was after all the excess seasoning was washed off. I'm not one to trash small businesses, but even the presentation of the truck was underwhelming and concerning. Handwritten and torn up menu signs and NOT the cleanliest either. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this food truck, or the actual restaurant business in Little Rock to anyone. Even though the owner specializes in "hood meals ", I don't think quality has to suffer.
