I really wanted to like this place I have been on the hunt for good sushi in Little rock for a long time. I have found a few gems but unfortunately this is not one. The onion soup was OK. We order takeout from here all the time now because of their half price sushi. I believe the half off deal is only for takeout and there are a few specialty rolls that aren't on it. So far though, everything we've gotten has been half price. The sushi is pretty average, maybe a little better than average. Don't get me wrong; it's not bad. My favorite roll is called the 2019 on the menu. But I guess it's because they printed the menu, it was 2019. When I ordered it late last year, she corrected me saying it's the 2020 roll now. So I guess it's the 2021 roll now? Anyway, it's a deep fried roll and it's really good. Service is solid, the packaging when you get takeout is really good and they give you everything you'd need including wasabi, soy sauce, ginger, hoisin and chopsticks. One of the best places for sushi and hibachi in the area. The menu is HUGE with so many different rolls. They also have other types of Asian dishes like noodles, Korean dishes, and Chinese dishes. FALSE ONLINE MENU! Disgusting customer service. Ordered from their online menu and received an item that was not as described. When I called to inform them that their online menu was wrong they raised their voices and yelled at me and told me I am just s**t talking them, that nobody else has ever seen this problem in over 20 years on their online menu and I am a liar since no such error exists on their online menu. What an awful way to speak to somebody who is trying to help a business fix an error so that nobody else has to be disappointed when they order something and it comes out different. Never returning. Nobody deserves to be screamed at and belittled for trying to help out. read more

They have amazing sushi, and for great prices. It is usually packed inside but the service has never been slow. I only give 4 stars because the $5.99 hibachi is hit or miss sometimes. However definitely worth the price that I paid But if you go definitely tryout the sushi! It's half-off on certain days! We have been here a couple times as a couple and I've had a few lunch meetings. Lunch was not very expensive for the amount of food that was presented. The times that we visited for dinner was really good. On one ocassion we sat at the sushi bar and ordered per piece. The next time we ordered a boat that they have as a special. The price was great for all the audit sushi, sashimi and roll you got. So far the food has always been presented well, staff attentive and everything was tasty and fresh. read more

I literally just left this restaurant and had the worst experience ever. my very 1st call to the restaurant I asked explicitly is the sushi 50% off tonight the person that answered the phone said yes. I call back and placed my order. I was handed the receipt and charged full price for one of the rolls. I asked the person bringing the food out to me why the roll was not discounting and he says we don't discount that roll. asked if since I was told all the rolls were discounted if they were going to discount the roll. He began yelling at me saying how about we just cancel the order. I really don't know how you go from can you tell me why I was overcharged when I was told it was half price to reaching your hand in my car and removing the food that I have already been charged for. My credit card had already been charged, I have never been in the situation where someone working in the hospitality industry yelled at me and then forcibly removed food from my person because of a discrepancy in the price of the food. This person became irate and said that they were just going to flat out cancel the order. That type of unprofessionalism and immaturity is overwhelming I am giving this restaurant the lowest review score possible and they will no longer get my business in the future. Terrible experience I'm a vegetarian and there was meat in my food. I told the manager and she had nothing to say. She called my waitress to the table to handle the problem. I told the manger I didn't want it anymore. I ate less than half of my plate. She charged me for the whole thing when I got my check back. She refused to take it off or offer a discount. My friend ordered a steak that she wanted cooked medium. It was extra well done. She asked if she can get chicken instead. The manager took her plate dumped the steak in the trash, and then brought the remaining rice that was on her plate back to her. She sent it back and the manager charged her for extra rice. Both times that I have been here the food has been good. Tonight it was very busy because they were running a special, and I had to wait 45 minutes on three sushi rolls. When I got up to go to the bathroom they cleared my beer and water from the bar, and I still had not yet received my food. Although they were very apologetic and replaced it, it shows the youthful professionalism of the staff. Once I got my food, it was good, but one of the main reasons I prefer Oriental food is because it is generally milk and cheese free. I was disappointed that the Philly roll had cream cheese in it. Price--good deals, especially at lunch. Baseline price comparable to other sushi gigs in town. Cons (a major con): Food--hibachi was fine, nothing special. The sushi rolls I had were both subpar--almost warm fish (that wasn't supposed to be warm), salmon with grisly brown spots in it, and avocado that was past its prime. I would not recommend sushi here. Since the food is the main reason I go to a restaurant, and I found it not to be high quality, I give it two stars. read more

Buyer beware, they don't always honor their discount. I ordered sushi through their website because I called several times and no one picked up. This was Friday night, 1-15-21. Since a large order takes a long time, and I didn't get anyone on the phone, I ordered through their website, which uses bitesquad. I selected pick up, which means I should have gotten a 50% discount. Instead, I was given a shrug by the waitress and told I should have ordered by phone, and it was my problem. Appropriately enough, the man in line in front of me was placing his order in person, because he hadn't been able to get anyone on the phone. Bitesquad said there was nothing they could do, as the restaurant sets the prices. So if you're going to order from Seikisui, don't use bitesquad through their website. Better yet, go to another sushi place that will honor discounts. read more

We love eating at this restaurant we come almost every week because the happy hour sushi is a steal. The roll I get is usually 4 dollars and some change. (the fried oops roll with jalapenos, cream cheese, salmon, avocado, eel sauce and spicy mayo) BTW it says eel sauce and spicy mayo on the menu but they put sriracha on it unless you tell them to put the eel sauce. Ordered dumplings and had to send them back. They were extremely over cooked and slimy. Couldn't even pick them up without them falling into pieces or it sticking to my chopstick. The waitress was so rude about it and told me that's how dumplings are supposed to be... so I told her I didn't want anything else and that I was fine without them. This place just went under new management. And it's by far the worst meal I've ever had here. So sad. This has always been my go to place for fried rice etc. I will now be finding another place for my fried rice and sushi fix. As a long standing customer I don't find myself ever returning here. The food my table had tonight was not good. I felt as if I was eating a salt block. Still tasting it after downing 3 glasses of water! I hate the fact I spent my hard earned money on that. Let me preface this review by stating that I did not consume any food from Sekisui Sushi Bar. That said, it exactly resembled the sushi you might find tucked away in a grocery store and I'm sure it tastes the same. We went during Happy Hour (4-7, if you want to check it out yourself) and the boats floating around all contained either your standard-issue ginger and wasabi or california rolls. Given that each boat contained 4 pieces of california roll and the 6-piece california roll was only $4.75 on their menu, I can't see how you'd be saving much money during Happy Hour. The menu was suspicious. I've eaten at Sushi Cafe in Little Rock a few times and I was surprised to find that several entrees at Sekisui (Wok Fired Edamame, Crispy Buffalo Wontons, the Fish and Chips, Sweet Potato Fries and the Grilled Rack of Lamb, which stand out on a sushi restaurant menu!) seem to be lifted wholesale from the Sushi Cafe menu! I can't prove which menu was first, but given that the main Sekisui website (which doesn't even acknowledge the Little Rock location!) has several menus of their other locations available, none of which have anything like the examples I listed, it all seems a bit strange. The ambience was similarly odd. We're talking a large restaurant, larger than a basketball court, cavernous even, with maybe a handful of people at the sushi bar and a family at the hibachi bar during dinnertime. All these warning signs culminated in us leaving without having bought any sushi. I recommend you not even walk in the door. read more

This place recently relocated to Highway 10 so I have not had a chance to be in the new restaurant from their old North Shackleford location but if you wanted a great cheap and expensive meal and value sushi rolls you could beat them they are 599 lunch special seven days a week always was a keeper their half price sushi rolls weren't bad either.....The staff is always friendly however the place did need a bit of an upgrade from it Shackleford location....However like most hibachi place as I tend to stay away from the appetizers they tend to be out of the box frozen and not very palatable or appetizing. Overall a fairly solid experience for cheap eats. read more
