That being said, Robert (I believe was his name) prepared the food excellently and made the wait worth it! As one of the servers said "he's the sh*t" and indeed he was! We went here for dinner on Valentines Day with the kids and sat at the hibachi. The setup and show were fantastic but the taste had something that was just off. I could not put my finger on it but it was almost an acidic taste. The mushroom broth was fantastic and the gyozas were good too. I think that something may have been mislabeled, or mixed wrong, as the soy sauce tasted sweet. The kids loved the show but when it came time to eat the veggie setup, they would only eat the broccoli and did not care for the rest. They enjoyed the filet mignon but my daughter did not like the chicken. I got the filet and chicken and thought they were really good but they just did not mix right with the fried rice. The kids did enjoy the edamame. They have some really good looking sushi options too but we did not partake this time as the hibachi filled us up enough. Definitely will go back. read more

Once inside we 1st wondered why No one was there, & they don't close for 2 more hours. We were sat in the "Sushi area" Very OLD Nasty filthy tables, with what may have been white paper doilies under plexiglass eons ago....decor to match the horrific food!!! The owner passed by & I told her your Ginger is "Molded"!! She made an excuse that they slice it fresh & it MUST be the "root end", She goes to "Sushi Bar" speaking a foreign language, until she gets to the point of "moldy" I understood that word. She then disappeared. Our server stopped by & asked how things were & we then showed him the Black Moldy Ginger. Our server brought us more, the Owner NEVER came back by.And Yes, they charge for Everything, Yum Yum sauce, etc. And they have a $4.95 "plate charge" if you "share" a dinner! Oh My!!! Don't know what happened to the "Hibachi Grill" no where to be found. Stay Away!!! Most Expensive [Very Overpriced] & possibly life threatening food. All sauces need to be dumped! Nice find, was greeted promptly and had about 2 minute wait for the hibachi table, waitress quickly took the tables drink orders, the cook we had was engaging and humorous. The fried rice here is fantastic, well seasoned, the hibachi steak and shrimp was cooked perfectly along with the veggies, salad ginger dressing was delicious and wife had the Razorback roll, which she enjoyed tremendously. Two bites in and we found hair in our food! The owner came over and tried to tell us it was from the zucchini. It was clearly a curled up hair with a follicle on the end. The owner tried to get us to have another meal made but we did want another plate. After YELLING at us and the server she reluctantly took the meal off. Hair falling into food happens, and thats why we gave them another chance after we got a Togo order a few weeks prior with a hair in it. We didn't call to complain just tossed the meal. Me and my two young children came here on a Sunday night for the hibachi grill. We waited for close to an hour at the grill after placing our order only to have been served drinks. If you have small children or would like to see your food order placed within the hour you order it, this is not the place for you. They charged us full price for our fountain drinks and we went to a nearby burger joint where we were served in under five minutes to when we placed our order. The food may be great, I don't but the service was terrible especially waiting an hour with small children in a dead restaurant. I just never thought a Japanese restaurant in Benton could compete with those in Little Rock. I moved to the area and thought I'd try it. My spouse and I were pleasantly surprised! Wait wasn't too long and yes the restaurant seems very old school, there's no cool lighting system or hip music playing in the background but they've been an establishment for a long time, it is what it is. We had the Sakura Special Dinner that was $49.99. Yes a bit pricey but if you consider the fact that these are sashimi and sushi pieces and this was basically in our backyard, it was worth the price. Warm Salmon Sushi. Almost made me throw up, now my stomach is in pain. I had chicken teriyaki as my main course, very small portion which was incredibly disappointing for $15. Then the tiniest little salmon rolls you've seen in your life, and they're fish is warm. Not room temp warm, but like it's been sitting under a heat lamp warm. Disgusting. The place is nice, clean, big, and great for big parties. There's a big dining room area, a sushi bar and a habachi room that has about 7-8 cooking tables. Upon walking through the double doors, you're greeted by one of the employees and immediately seated if there is a table available. Our server quickly came and took down our drink order. I decided on the Habachi Steak dinner entree. My food came out in about 15 minutes and it was steaming hot ( If you sit near the kitchen, you can see the chefs cooking the food as the orders come). The entree comes with fried rice (extra $2.75), grilled vegetables, soup and salad; it definitely filled me up and I packed the rest of my food as my lunch for the next day. The sushi here is great and tastes fresh. My favorites are the 911 roll, Bryant roll, and the Spicy Crunchy Shrimp roll. They have both specialty rolls and the typical sushi rolls (sushi and sashimi too). The prices here are reasonable. There's an all you can eat special on the weekdays for about $20? and they have a three roll dinner special for $12 (I always get this when I'm not craving one of their specialty rolls) I've never been in their habachi room because it's usually crowded during the dinner rush hours, but it must be interesting to see someone cook your food in front of you. Overall, I enjoy coming here for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is great and the staff is friendly. The BEST thing about this place, it now serves beer and wine! great great great! read more

After a recent visit where I was unapologetically overcharged & received questionable product, that was it. Sushi. Bryant, AR. They aren't synonymous. We've been eating at Sakura for 6-7 yrs. Seen staff come and go. Food has never been the issue. The husband/wife owner "dynamic duo" are kind of snooty. But we don't go there to see the managers. We go there to eat fresh sushi. Their stock rolls are par. Exactly what you'd expect from a run of the mill sushi joint. But again, that's not why you go there. Their signature rolls are what's worth going there for. They created 20-30 rolls that has something for everyone. ANYTHING with the spicy crawfish in it is money. Want a custom roll? Yes, they'll make you what you want. Want 5 ramekins full of eel sauce for free? Yep, they'll sure give it to you. Bar none, their specialty rolls rank with any fine sushi establishments that I have eaten at in major metropolitan areas. Even some high end sushi bars (25-30/roll) don't provide the quality and assortment that Sakura does. The staff is great at the sushi bar. I can't attest to attentiveness for hibachi customers. I've only eaten hibachi there once. Was great as well. Give them a shot. You won't regret it. read more

HORRIBLE!!! First of all covid is an issue for ALL restaurants. We made a reservation for 8 and they said they didn't have it even after showing our email confirmation. Then 5 different groups were waiting to be seated and the old dude kept walking by rude and did acknowledge anyone. Three groups left after waiting for over 10 min and not one employee acknowledge them. Their business isn't busy and you should at least acknowledge your guest! This was the first time we were going to try to eat here and I will never go here and I'll tell everyone to stay far from it. You all are very rude! read more

My wife and I go here all the time. I usually get the 911 roll (which is great) and she gets the scallops. Everything is always good and they are very consistent. We usually do not to the hibachi grill , except on special occasions. To me it is just too expensive for what you get, although it is very good and the show is fun, but the food in the regular dining area is just as good. I would have given 5 stars but took a star off due to the high prices. But, yeah, the food is great! read more

The staff were all pretty friendly, but our waitress hardly ever checked on us. After waiting for several minutes I finally had to go find a staff person just to get some chopsticks. My husband and I split a meal and ordered an extra rice (the meal comes with one serving of fried rice, of course). When we got our ticket we had been charged for two extra orders of fried rice as well as a $5 "plate fee" to split our meal, which we had not been told of prior to ordering. They would not take off the charge for the extra rice. The hibachi steak and shrimp meal was ok. It was satisfying, but certainly not the best I've had at these types of restaurants. Best Worst Time Ever! During my cross-country move to Cali, I stopped into Benton, Arkansas to stay with friends. We went to Sakura, and at least I had a fantastic time. That being said, wow, they haven't a clue. I think it was possibly because it was our Hibachi Chef's first day. He began by trying to flip a raw egg into his chef's hat. 1st attempt: miss and splatter on cooking table. 2nd attempt: again, miss and splatter. 3rd attempt: missed. Splatter, this time my friend got yolk on him. 4th attempt: over the chefs head, splatters on the floor behind him. The chef covers it with a rag. 5th attempt: SUCCESS! we clap. The young chef had a seemingly endless supply of "oops I messed up" one-liners, such as "ohh, too much Sake today..." He was very excitable and started throwing vegetables at us to catch in our mouths. Based on the egg experience, you may expect that his aim was bad and you would be correct. He hit me in the eye with steamy hot broccoli. I laughed it off. All in good fun. My other friend never got her steamed white rice. Perhaps due to a cognitive error, being the only one not to have fried rice. While spraying our rice with soy sauce, the yolk covered friend was also treated to some Kikkoman's to complete the Ghallager-like experience. The chef was sooo bad, it was fun to watch. You wanted to root for him. He was an underdog. And the food was tasty, so he did ok there. The three stars, however, comes from something I did not notice but my buddy did. Remember that rag that covered the egg that splattered on the floor? Well the chef took that rag back and used it to clean his cutlery. That's bad form. I don't know why my friend didn't say anything about that as it was happening. Oh well. I would possibly go back, and if I do, I'd go with a smock. read more

Great restaurant! the service was pretty good, and the sushi was fresh! I came from California to visit a few friends from Arkansas and this was the first place they took me to after i landed. The restaurant is fairly big and spacious and they have over 30 different rolls to choose from. The restaurant also had another room for habachi, but my friends decided to just stick to sushi for the night. I recommend the Sunrise Roll, 911, and the seemingly popular Razerback Roll. Mmm! Their spicy sauce is just to die for. ohh and the seaweed salad was delicious as well! read more
