There are a lot of positives such as any of the sushi we've had has been very good along with any appetizer. Any food we've had other than sushi has been overwhelming with sodium. I was very disappointed with the service. I ordered a Pina Colada and it was terribly made. The waitress said that she wouldn't re make it and I can't order anything else. I would have to pay for it. She also told me that it's very popular and everyone likes it. Well mine was still bad. She just lost my recommendation. I had a team that was going to eat there but I told them NO!!! This was our second time eating here, the first time was great, we're couldn't wait to come back. After today, I won't be back until I speak with Jen. We order some cowboy and captain crunch rolls with rice paper instead of seaweed, captain crunch didn't receive that memo. I ordered filet mignon and lobster with a side of shrimp... again but changed the rice to lo mein. A huge disappointment is a big understatement. Our food was cold, not even lukewarm, we sent it back and got it 52 seconds later. The plate was warmer than the food. I know what lo mein looks like in Houston so I know for a fact they are serving top ramen oriental flavored noodles. First and foremost this is a review on the Hibachi side of the restaurant. My wife and I as well as a few co-workers went here for dinner one evening and all but two of us had the hibachi. The meat was cooked nicely but the vegies needed some work. There was way to much broccoli in the vegies and there was a few items missing from the normal hibachi style Japanese food. There were no water chestnuts, no bamboo shoots and the veggies were not cooked long enough nor had a bowl put over them to help steam them. The ginger sauce that they used was more of a sweet style instead of the way ginger is supposed to be with a little bit of a bite to it. The biggest thing that makes me really put 3 stars is the fact that in our group we had a couple of AA members and the chef didn't let us know that what he was trying to get people to try from his bottle of "water looking" liquid was actually sake. This is not acceptable in any book and this needs to be addressed with the entire staff as well as management. My wife and I will go back and try the sushi as we were told that it was very good sushi for the area. read more

We found this place because we needed something open late on a weeknight. And we were pleasantly surprised to find a good sushi joint to meet that need! The prices are reasonable for what you get, the service was great (mind you, it was late and they were probably ready to close down). We had a great experience at Sakura for dinner last night! We did the hibachi grill and loved it. The food was great! We did the hibachi chicken, shrimp, and steak. The chicken was my favorite! We have 3 younger kids and the staff really made it fun for them. Thank you! We laughed a lot when we all tried to catch zucchini and saki (water for kids) in our mouth. Very poor service. Food was sub-marginal. Might be okay for locals as it's the only one in town. I am not from Ardmore, I live overseas, so have been fortunate to eat at much better Japanese restaurants. If this place was in Dallas, OKC or Tulsa, it wouldn't last a week. read more

Tried for the first time today, had the combination sushi and sashimi. It was excellent quality and was a beautiful presentation. Having eaten sushi for years, I will be a bit picky - the seaweed wrap was a bit old (soggy) and the miso soup was not like any I've ever had (not fond of it). My seaweed was so rubbery I couldn't eat it. I took everything out of my roll and ate it with a fork. My drinking cup smelt like bleach. When we first arrived and was eating our appetizer they were cleaning the floor with bleach. The smell was so strong it was burning our eyes. I don't recommend. read more

The food is okay. If you order it to go, the portions are better than if you eat it there, and lunch prices are better than dinner prices. I typically get steak and chicken on the hibachi with veggies and it is pretty good. The green tea ice cream is good, but not the best. Their clear soup and salad is terrific! read more

Today I stopped into this restaurant for sushi from the lunch menu. I ordered the three roll option which is served with a salad and miso soup. When the food was brought to my table I just looked at it and I became very annoyed. For the price of $13, I received a bowl of ice berg lettuce, miso soup which for you to understand is a spoon full of miso stirred into a cup of hot water with nibbles of tofu and seaweed, and the saddest sushi rolls I have ever been presented. It made me wonder why this restaurant has no pride what so ever in the food that they serve. Let me explain about the sushi rolls. The avocado was brown, yes, brown. I sent that one back. The Boston roll that I ordered which is supposed to have shrimp literally had one shrimp sliced thinly to spread throughout the roll then filled with lettuce. The crabmeat in the other roll is not real, which we all know it isn't real crabmeat, but we order it anyway so we can a least have a bit of crab taste. Now, calculate how much food product that I was served for the price of $13 before tax, and they can't even serve that with pride. I will never eat at this restaurant again, and my question to you is why do other people. Are we that complacent to allow them to serve us trash while most likely laughing at how ignorant we all are. We as consumers allow this to happen. This not a restaurant that deserves the money that you work so hard for. They need to just close their door. They only saving grace for this restaurant was the the waiter was pleasant. read more

In spite of telling them that it would be difficult for us to move out as we have two little kids, they insisted on it. So brutal! This was our first time visiting and I have to say we were both overly impressed! The food is fantastic. The entertainment from your cook is great, and the company at the table makes for a fun time. Will definitely be coming back here again. The steak in our combo was cooked to perfection, beating any steakhouse we've been to anywhere.
