This is a great option for airport dining. But listen closely, it is a "scan the menu, order and pay on your phone" place. I get it, especially if you're in a hurry. My husband and I ordered the deviled eggs, half chicken, and burger. Everything was good. Fries weren't great but whatever - the chicken was a lot of food and we enjoyed it and the burger was great for an airport burger. We got beer and wine which are always a safe bet because I read that the mixed drinks came premade. The only annoying thing was how expensive it was - but that's to be expected at an airport and we had a 4 hour layover and couldn't avoid eating. We debated A LOT about where to go, studying all the yelp ratings, and chose this place off the flip of a coin (digital coin flip) and I'm glad we did. I got a burger here and it was expensive, greasy, and had fries that tasted like it was re-fried from the day before. Airport food! Well not exactly! I felt like I was in China's version of French bistro. Or at least the Shanghai airport. I know I don't get to east coast often where I'm hanging in the terminal. I came to Saison since it was close to my boarding gate. When sitting at the bar, you order from an iPad. I must say that customer service is excellent!!! The server could tell immediately I was having an issue ordering. He immediately came to my assistance to show me the very easy IPad ordering process. I ordered a very yummy Cosmopolitan and a delicious meat and cheese platter. The servers were always readily available if they saw you needed a refill on water, your drink drink or just more food. Prices aren't cheap, but remember you're eating at the airport. You can pay by cash, credit card or United mileage points. I would definitely return to Saison! read more

The food and drink is very expensive for what you get but that is expected. The rudeness is something you do not expect. We had paid almost $40 for two beers and one grilled cheese with fries. They did not have the beer (or second choice) we wanted but happily ordered whatever they had. No problem. This first waiter was very kind and personable. The main issue came from a waitress, she was older middle-aged'ish and blonde. You know who you are. We were there at around 3-4 pm on 3/28. Of course, it can sometimes be hard to hear in a restaurant, within an airport, while wearing masks. After we finished our beer/snack, my wife went to grab a water jug and fill our water bottle. The waitress proceeded to stand inches behind my wife, make her jump (which caused her to spill a little water), and then make a bunch of passive aggressive and rude remarks about how we didn't listen to her, spilled some water, and we were not supposed to be filling our water bottle. In general, the food options at EWR aren't that great.. however I ordered the Belgian waffles at Saison and they were okay. Most of the food at the airport is overpriced and this cost $14. So I thought that this was an okay price especially because the waffles were filling. Definitely a good portion size. I can't really comment on customer service since it's kept at a minimum with the new order on the tablet process. Also, I wasn't in a rush since my flight wasn't for another few hours but my food came out pretty quick (like 10 minutes or less). If you do choose to eat here, I'd recommend the waffles. read more
