Omg! My husband fell in a hole they had covered in the floor and hurt his knee and then he had part of a Brillo pad in his meal!!! Stop the insanity!!! Walk on by!!! ps - as I go to post this the gentleman behind me returns his dish because the chicken is raw read more

Best restaurant hands down!! The service and food is amazing. The staff are super friendly and hospitable. Past the 5 star experience in the restaurant - the staff went above and beyond when I left my iPad behind and even arranged to drop off my iPad when I returned through Newark. This is all thanks to Greg who returned my note about my missing ipad with a call immediately, tracked it down and organized to have my iPad brought to me when I returned through Newark. This is the best customer service I have ever gotten! Again, would highly recommend Saison!! read more

I wish I could have given a review of the food here, but after having been told by the waitress not to use the iPad because she hated it, it turned out that my order was never placed. After waiting almost 20 minutes and listening to her bitch to her coworkers, she decided that maybe it was time to check on the order. There are THREE people at this bar and it seems we are all in the "pay no mind" section. Now I'm hungry, disappointed, and have to catch my flight with no time to eat. Do not bother with Saison!! read more

Where do I begin? 7:00am with loud music blasting. Waited 15 minutes for coffee. IPad ordering doesn't allow any customization so bread and potatoes will go back to the kitchen uneaten. No waiter to ask for a glass of water or a coffee refill. $32 for eggs, juice and coffee with this level of service is ridiculous. Avoid this place at all cost!!! Wish there was a zero stars option. read more

The theme of this restaurant,we were told, is fast service. One word to sum it up is "horrible". My husband and I were the only ones in the entire restaurant and after having to order with an iPad it took over 25 minutes to receive our order of two simple egg omelettes. I had to get up and go ask the manager, Who was rude and indifferent, where our order was. When it arrived the omelettes where Luke warm. I spoke to the manager again when our bill was incorrect and overcharged. He adjusted the bill but didn't seem to care that we were unhappy. BTW, they add an 18% gratuity automatically to your bill. What a rip! read more

The food was OK and I was seated quickly (though at an off-peak time). The service was slow beyond belief (luckily I'd arrived a few hours early for my flight). When it came time to pay (I mean confirm) the bill, the tipping percentage was already there -- at 20%. When I tried to change the percentage using the drop-down menu, I was asked for a PIN. WHAT? Apparently this had been given to me when I started using the iPad menu. If I was given a PIN, I don't remember this, but even if I did remember, how was I to know what it was for? The price for eggs, sausage, potatoes and one slice of toast was nearly $20 (without the tip)! One cup of coffee would have been $3.25 more. I won't be returning to this establishment. read more

This place is Terrible and borderline criminal. Horrible service and as others have pointed out the ordering system is quirky at best. I ordered my meal and it rang up with the wrong price. After a long wait the manager finally came around to adjust my bill and acted like I was really inconveniencing him by asking them to charge me the appropriate amount. When I got my credit card bill I discovered that they did not void the first overcharge invoice and instead charged me both that and the second corrected amount!!! After having to do some detective work to even find a phone number for the place, I called the number and after going through the automated answering service and finally waiting for a real person to speak with the call got cut off. Three times. Unbelievable. Oh, and the food was slightly below average at best. Avoid this place. read more

The servers are nice, and the food is fine. For that reason I added a star. The computer system is terrible. The servers aren't well trained in how it works so don't expect much help in navigating it. The system itself isn't well thought out, it's difficult to navigate, with a very unnatural interface. Unfortunately I think the whole airport is on the same kind of system so it won't be any easier anywhere else. Two things you need to be aware of. You don't actually pay when you order and it asks for your card, it only saves your card info and opens a tab. Second is that the system automatically closes your tab after 30 minutes. read more

We were looking for a decent meal at the airport and the menu (although pricey) looked good at Saison. Unfortunately, the service and the food were terrible. After being seated by someone, you're left on your own to put in your order and tip (before being served). Then you hope the order went through. Someone came and filled our water glasses and we waited for our food. The well-meaning young man was polite, but obviously not an experienced waiter all as he was very young, a little clumsy and uneducated when it came to food and drinks. The $12 glass of wine was barely drinkable and the $20 burger wasn't any better than something you can get at any average fast food chain. The ipads/tablets (that were everywhere in the airport restaurants) were propped up in the middle of the table so you can't see the person you're dining with. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

With a departure planned for 7 pm, my husband and I had planned to arrive at EWR in time to have several cocktails and a steak dinner at Gallagher's. But the new-fangled Terminal C at Newark held other plans for us. Gallagher's has been replaced by Saison, a brasserie that is impeccably managed, has the technology that is ever-present at United's Newark hub and offers delicious food, and smooth service, to boot. You know it's been a good experience when your husband calls the manager over to compliment him on a restaurant where everything is perfect...the martini, the Manhattan, the vibe, the diverse menu and our selections: the deviled eggs to start and incredible burgers to finish...meant to sustain us on our cross-country flight. Geralyn was our server and was polished, efficient and fantastic. We learned that Anthony, the manager my husband sought out, came to Saison from the inimitable Four Seasons in Manhattan, after it closed this year. It's very evident that someone with Four Seasons training is running this bright spot in Terminal C at Newark. In the frustrating and harried world that is air travel in 2016, kudos to those at Saison who made our Friday evening fun and enjoyable, kicking off a vacation in an unexpectedly positive way. Well done. read more

My wife and I wanted a quick bite at a sit-down restaurant; this place fits the bill. Our food were both delicious (Caesar Salad and Lentil Soup) but we are giving three stars because of the iPad interface they used. It worked great for us and I liked how we can get the details on everything on their menu. However, using this really removed the interaction with another human being (the server) AND we are required to pay for our food plus the tip upfront. How can we know how much to tip if we haven't really experienced the service...? Where's the incentive for great service? This was reflected in the little service we had. read more

Horrible!!! Food does NOT look like photo and is bland. Slow, flavorless, just horrible!

This is hell. Because of the ipad order system there is no Human contact and the wait staff walks around like zombies offering no refills of water or coffee unless you flag them down. The food is awful and prepared like slop. The system automatically tips 18% unless you change this while the waiter hovers over you watching you tap in your order. All the restaurants in terminal c are like this. Totally dehumanizing and depressing. read more

There was terrible service between having to order on an iPad and having a snarky waiter. The restaurant asks you to give a tip before being served at all. The food was good, but not worth its price. read more

The hands down worst ordering and service place ever !!! If you have an hour to spend on a meal then you may actually get the food and then give some feedback on food taste, otherwise you will never see it. Ordered food at 7:35 am, no food still at 8:15 am as our flight is now boarding. Also informed at 7:40am that they are out of orange juice ????? $61.00 later for 3 French toast, 1coffee and 2 OJ all of which we never saw and had to leave to board the plane. Asked to speak to a a manager, also never came ... read more

My favorite restaurant at EWR. And I've tried them all by now. Food and wine were very good and service was much better than at the other restaurants. The iPads definitely kill the patron/wait staff relationship and this one was as close as possible to a normal relationship. My waitress came to check on me multiple times and everyone was caring and courteous. read more

The service was bad. I ordered a seafood of the day and waited for more than 20 mintues. All people came after me got their food. When I check with the waitress, they forgot to pick up my food and let it stay in the kitchen. Will never go again. And won't suggest this place. read more

Best experience ever!!!! Delicious food and amazing staff. Will never step foot into another restaurant when in terminal C.

Delicious food, expensive, beware the tip added when you pay on their iPads where you place your orders. The servers come "help" you check out just as its time to run your card and they don't ask how much tip you want to add so it automatically adds 18%. If you do it yourself you can choose the tip. We had cheese plate, wild mushrooms and beet salad and draught English beer. All excellent. read more

The bartender was great, but your iPad ordering sucks. The staff spends more time explaining that than they do just taking orders. Nobody knew about my order (even though it was clearly on my tab), and I had to ask for it, only to be told they were out of it. Please go back to having your staff take orders directly. read more

Is smoked salmon meant to be crispy round the edges? Is coffee meant to be the temperature of English beer? ( she did brew us a hot one, but forgot more milk) poached eggs guys? Cold, warm or hot? Ours was cold. Potatoes were almost passable. I'd like to say breakfast was a treat. Sadly just expensive and potentially old salmon can make you sick. Hope I have a cast iron stomach on the flight today. Servers were very nice. Stop to say hi, but buy a bagel at Bagel Boy before you get to the airport. read more

I don't write many reviews. But this place charged my credit card twice. And based on previous reviews on other sites, they have done this multiple times and that's not good business. There are many identical restaurants in the airport. Don't take your chances with this one. No way to contact them. I was refunded because I called my credit card to dispute the charge. read more

Thought it might fast with an order of breakfast pastries - 20 minutes! The pastries (croissants) were warm but stale. Not what I expected. Tea was excellent. But is that worth $30 with tax and tip - don't think so. read more

I received friendly and prompt service, which was particularly welcome after a transatlantic flight. The wider menu looks great, but I can only personally endorse the deviled eggs appetizer (a little overly mustardy but pretty good) and the creme brulee (which absolutely tasted of quality ingredients). Most important to note - they have a gluten free menu, which is nearly unheard of for airport fare. The revitalization of Newark's Terminal C seems to be off to a good start to me! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a drink and a bite to kill some time before our flight departed. We sat at the bar and as is now the rage, we only had access to IPADS to peruse the menu for drinks and food. We had to prepay for our food with a credit card; they don't accept cash. But here's the clincher: they add on 18% as a gratuity without telling the customer. We had ordered a bottle of wine for $70.00 and our food bill was $43.00 so the restaurant slapped on a $19.80 gratuity. I questioned our bartender/server and he said, "oh no, we only add gratuity to food." I said, "look again." He called over the manage who reluctantly removed the gratuity and GUESS WHAT??? The server accepted a $10.00 gratuity from us in CASH after telling us that they don't take cash. Consumer be aware of this place.... check every little detail of your bill. -- PS -- the food was good; soup and salad and the wine was tasty. read more

The staff here is amazing -- really lovely and helpful and friendly. The iPad ordering stations are the worst, though. Really really bad. Most of them do not work at all and those that were functioning were not at 100%. I would have spent a significantly larger amount of money if I had been able to order directly through the staff. The staff, again, were so great. read more

The ipads are cute and menu looks good BUT the food is incredibly bad. I had the worst french fries of my life: disgusting, soggy messes of potatoes that were not only cold when served but had clearly been "fried" in oil that was far too low in temperature. My French Dip sandwich --how can one mess this up-- was appallingly bad. $19 for a sandwich and fries! I could have eaten better, price unconsidered, at McDonald's. The service was also slow and rude, but I could have put up with a bit of inconvenience for decent food. read more

I've been here three times (this will be the last time). Each time, I've had the same experience: after using the tabletop iPads to order food, the card reader has failed to work so the entire order needs to be retaken by hand by the wait staff. Save yourself time and go to a less "Hi-Tech" cafe. read more

Went there for breakfast on 5/17/2016. They got the orders wrong and overcharged me. Also added a tip even after I left one for the waiter. They email you the receipt so I didn't see it until after I left Newark. What a ripoff - I would have been better off at Starbucks!! read more

We should have known better; we should have walked around more, as there are plenty of other decent restaurants at the Continental terminal at Newark. The staff are really pathetic - some don't speak English very well, we observed several just standing around, chatting. The iPad concept is 'cute' but definitely needs to be tweaked. Very slow service, VERY expensive prices - $20 for a chicken salad sandwich (the salad that comes with the sandwich is absolutely tasteless)? Service was slow, finding someone to help you navigate the menu was not easy. They need to re-group and re-organize (and re-price) what could be a cute/novel (but not too expensive) place in the airport. read more

Good food, but the cool high tech Ipad ordering system wrecks it, mine froze, never got the email receipt I was promised, things moved way too slow for an Airport joint read more

If you want an especial treat while you're waiting for your international flight visit saison French restaurant in Concourse C of Newark's Airport . While pricey at $55.00, it was cooked/chargrilled to perfection. Ordered medium well because I like a little pink but no blood. That was the ticket. Very tender, crispy char on crispy parts was just how I've been wanting a great steak for too long! It was one of the best ribeye steaks I've ever . The only downside is it only comes with a little side salad . It was very generous portion and waiter suggested they cut it in kitchen and split among 2 plates. Good idea since only plastic knives allowed at the airport. It was almost tender enough to cut with a fork. the ambience is nice mix of French upbeat and martini lounge chill music . Wait service is great even though you are supposed to order off tablets on table--headache and gem pad. He gladly took our order. iservice by Paul was excellent and I highly recommend . The 6 East coast assorted oysters were tiny, but extremely fresh and presented well. Great meal. Highly recommend. March 18,2018 read more

Disaster is all I can say! As usual these concepts look fancy from the outside but fail to deliver. A party of six we were. Although there were these high tech obnoxiously placed IPads, none of us could enter our order because we wanted one check. One person in our party had to take everyone's drink and food order as if he were the server! It was unreal! We received our beverages 15 minutes after we sat down because it took us that long to get everyone's order entered into the IPad. Once received, they were incorrect. My hot tea came out 20 minutes into the meal and it was cold. The server tried to explain how fancy the tea was and how long it needed to steep. I finally received my hot tea when my meal was complete! A whole lot of chiefs standing around managing nothing! Basic steps of service completely removed from the dining experience. Some of the meals were mediocre at best. They can keep their iPads and cardboard chicken. I was completely aggravated.....the last thing you need when trying to relax after TSA check in. read more
