Ordered 4 vinyls. Only sent 1. Ignored emails. Worst record store experience to date.

If they are desirable, complete, and in good condition, we buy them. I could tell if the rest were worth donating somewhere or not. Thanks!

Forever Young is as massive as you've seen (or hey, if you haven't seen photos, it's a huge store!)…read moreFor this reason alone, you're bound to walk out of the store happy, with at least a few records. When you walk in, you'll get that feeling of 'where do I start?' Don't worry, it will be ok. I took my first left, skipped the RSD section (pretty big, FYI) and went to the Xmas section. It too was also big, and where it was after the holiday, I thought maybe I might be able to find some cool titles. I walked away with one record I had been looking for and another I didn't know I was looking for but surely needed. After that, I continued onto a 90s/2000s section that, from what I could tell, was a mix of multiple mainstream genres like rock, pop, hip/hop, r&b, etc. Again, we're talking about a lot of records so I made the strategic choice to only look for items on my want list. I did this for the subsequent sections (a 80s/70s combo and 60s/50s combo) and still spent most of my 2 hours in the store in this manner. It was after going through these sections that I looked to the ground with more attention, where I suspected other genres laid their claim. I ended up finding way too many records to choose from for my partner, and some other sections that again were so big that I wasn't even prepared to dive in and dig. When I was finally ready to checkout, my sister (who was also shopping with me) mentioned she had got a punch card, which gives you some money off as you spend a certain amount on used records. She offered hers up to me for my purchase. I didn't pay much attention to the exact parameters, but I got $40 off which was much appreciated (especially considering pricing, which I will get to at the end.) As I was checking out, I noticed the collector's room and took a look at that before I left the store. While there was some interesting stuff in there, none of it was anything I was really looking for (especially not at the higher range.) Back on pricing, I did have a little bit of a shock when I saw that basically every record I picked up was $30 or $35. That's definitely what I'm used to paying back home for new records but not so much for regular used vinyl. This wasn't completely surprising, as I had bought some stuff from them online before, and was certainly softened by the discounts I got at the register but something to keep in mind before you go. Also, I think the pricing is also a function of the store being a bit of one-stop shop with its size. Finally, there is stuff other than vinyl (in fact, A LOT of CDs, as well as tapes, 8-track, etc.) but I wasn't looking for any of that so I didn't shop it. However, if you're into multiple media formats it should be all the more appealing. Happy record shopping!

The staff there are super chill and very knowledgeable on what they have, don't hesitate to ask! Also, the value of most records are great, I have seen a few that may be over priced but every place is not going to be super cheap. I'd say, don't knock it until you've tried it, you never know what deal you'd get!

The owner was so nice!, It's a black owned business, he's also a fashion designer as well as an artist! Walking in you automatically are in a daze with all of the record selection, now the records on the walls are not for sale, but they were really cool to look at. He has tons of artwork that are actually made by local artists. And all of the records that he has in the store or his own collection. He has old school new school, tons of varieties. A really cool store to check out. Located in Sundance Square, the store is also a clothing store! It is his own brand, he has shirts, shorts, women's sports bras women's leggings, his own sneakers! The design is out of this world! I can't wait to be back!

TL;DR This place is suffering from an identity crisis. It doesn't feel like a record store, feels…read moremore like someone's eclectic stylized version of what they want their apartment to look like. So this place is a bit confusing... Is it a record store? A clothing store? A skate shop? Unfortunately there is not enough of any of those things to really be able to tell which. The records weren't cataloged in any reasonably intelligible way. There was older vinyl mixed with newly pressed vinyl. There is a full section dedicated to Ray Charles or so it seemed until you went 3 covers deep and started seeing recent artists. Disorganized and confusing. The clothes were pretty much the same, I liked them but if you didn't like the style you would be disappointed. The shoes were solid, I'm a fan. There were skate decks hanging along the walls and while the graphics were nice I wasn't sure if you could buy them as no price was listed on the one I checked. I also didn't see anything else you would need to actually skate. No hardware, grip, trucks, bearings, wheels, just skate decks. I know that some people use them as art to decorate their place but it just adds another layer of confusion to an already confusing place. I can see that the other reviews are great so I suppose I will just have to be the bad guy here. Would I ever shop here again? Pass...
