Very good and tasty pastries. Honestly would love to try everything! I tried the danish and it was one of the best I've ever had (I'm an American)

Amazing vegan / plant-based pastries and coffee. Adorable shop with affordable prices - the line was out the door with people who seemed like regulars. The line moved quickly and efficiently. The chocolate hazelnut croissant was incredible, as was the pan au chocolate and the cardamom bun. I wish I could try all of these! The coffee was also delicious.

Amazing vegan pastries!! And so much to choose from. I stumbled upon this place during my visit to Amsterdam. The only thing I didn't love was the chai latte I got, didn't have much flavor but I love that they had options for oat milk or almond milk. I would definitely come back. Don't let the long line scare you, it goes by pretty quickly!

I would travel back to Amsterdam just for the pistachio cruffin. It was absolutely delicious, a solid 10/10. The filling was slight sweet with a savory hint, the croissant was flaky and soft, absolutely delectable. There was a line to get in and order and for good reason! There was some seating available but a wait to get a table. Next time I'd try out their sister restaurant across the street that offer savory dishes and sandwiches. Definitely recommend !!!

The best vegan pastries I ever had! This place is offering 100% plant based house baked goods and coffee. Amazing coffee, amazing deserts and amazing staff. This was our first stop when we arrived to Amsterdam, but we kept coming back for our morning coffee and deserts. My favorite was pistachio cruffin, filled with the best pistachio butter I ever had. Originally I came for chocolate croissant, but everything was just so great. Place is small, so you might not be able to find a place to sit inside if you would like to stay for a coffee, but they do have outdoor seating ( only few spots). Note: make sure to arrive on time ( starting 10am ), as they sell pastries very quickly. Lines are always big ( for a good reason), so come on time if you would like to try the best vegan pastries in Amsterdam ( and wider). Love!

Great little spot, an all-vegan bakery with very tasty pastries and top-rate coffee. We stopped in around 10:30am on a Saturday to share a couple of pastries, and for some coffee. There was a line out the door, but we were served within 5 minutes. We shared a pain au chocolat and an apple/almond/peanut bostok, both of which were very tasty. We got some double espressos too, which were very nicely made -- some of the best espresso we had in Amsterdam. Friendly service, but very cramped inside. Worth checking out if you're nearby. Great vegan bakery.

In A Nutshell: -Saint-Jean is one of the most popular baked goods & specialty coffee shop in the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam. -The simple, corner building is a must see if you are foodie. -They serve freshly baked goods like croissants & hard to find imported coffee. -The prices are very, very affordable, which is probably why you will see long lines everyday. -If you want to beat the crowds, always come as soon as it opens, which is 8am. Overall, if you wait too long, you might not get in & they will sell out.

If you're visiting Amsterdam or if you're lucky enough to live here you MUST get the pistachio cruffin!!!!!!!!! It is perfect in every way and it's all vegan! Everything else I have tried is also amazing if pistachios aren't your thing. Be prepared to wait in a line but it goes by quickly! Cute place and good vibes all around. I bring everyone here!

I wanted to buy the whole cafe. The only problem was that I discovered Saint-Jean too late! It was the day before I was leaving, and I couldn't make it there again before I left. If I'd known, I would have stopped by every day while I was in Amsterdam! What's not to love? Saint-Jean has a sleek, clean, posh vibe, yet it also feels warm and comfortable. There is limited seating inside and outside, but there seemed to be a quick turnaround time. Also, the cafe is in a cute residential section of Amsterdam. Last, but certainly not least, the employees were friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. I ordered an Oat Milk Cappuccino, Classic Croissant, and a Pistachio Cruffin. OAT MILK CAPPUCCINO - It was frothy and delicate, yet the espresso was smooth and packed a punch. CLASSIC CROISSANT - It was just perfection. After I went vegan, I didn't think I would ever be able to enjoy a croissant again. I was wrong. I don't know how Saint-Jean does it, but they do! It's made intentionally with flaky, buttery, puffy, and crunchy layers of dough. You can tell the croissant is made with love and precision. I can't get over how good this was. I'm writing this a couple of months after my visit, and I distinctly remember every delectable bite. PISTACHIO CRUFFIN - I saved my Pistachio Cruffin for later in the day when I needed a sweet pick-me-up. I think this was my first ever cruffin! I'm going to guess that it's a muffin and croissant combination! Whatever it is, it was scrumptious! The outside was crunchy, sweet, and layered with flaky and baked-to-perfection dough. The pistachio cream in the center was a silky base mixed with crunchy bits of pistachio. You could taste the pistachio, which isn't always the case with pistachio treats. It was sweet, but not too sweet. The filling didn't necessarily look the best, but who cares, it was all about the taste, and it was Cruffin heaven! I loved how the sugar dusting on the outside gave the cruffin an extra texture and sweet enhancement. We arrived a bit early for the social media-famous pistachio cruffin, so we opted for coffee and another version (blueberry and pistachio). It was incredibly good, and we returned later for the famous one, which was super delicious. Highly recommend!

So good I stopped by twice on a 3 day trip to the city…read more I stopped by on my first visit craving a big, hearty sandwich for a late lunch and thought this might be a good find. Happy to report I was very right. I grabbed one of the many outside seats, took a look at the menu that was entirely in Dutch and waited for the wonderful waitress to quickly translate nearly every item for me. I landed on the chicken club and it hit the spot. I arrived hungry but could still only manage to finish half. Chicken was grilled perfectly into thin slices, soft boiled egg was a new touch that I loved, avocado, lettuce and probably a few other things I am forgetting. Oh, and a handful of crisps on the side. On my next visit, it was my last night in Amsterdam and I still haven't tried the infamous fries. I stopped in around 9:30 for a late night snack and a hot ginger tea. The fries were the perfect fries! Thin, crispy, salty. I loved. I also can get behind the mayo thing they do here, even though I really am a ketchup loyalist. Anyway, lunch or dinner or late night snack, this is a good spot. You'll like the foot and you'll love sitting outside people watching, reading your book, whatever.
