Best vegan stop we've been to here in AMS. Such a cutie shop and fantastic food. The lemongrass latte is to die for. The americano... delicious. Cakes galore. On to that course. :) So glad we found this spot. Thanks for all that you do Koffie ende Koeck - you are making your mark on the world and we LOVE it!!!

Americans with coconut biscuit

I'm completely in love with this place. How can you not be when it's called the best things in life: Coffee and Cake? AND it's vegan? Hello! Super cute cafe in a quieter part of Amsterdam, a couple minutes walk from the Van Hallstraat stop (last stop on Tram 10). There were two very nice ladies working and made sure we knew all the fresh goodies available on and off the English menu. Started with an americano, small but delicious and came with a coconut biscuit (I dream of them still). I ordered "The Smoky One", the staff's favourite which included homemade mayo, smoky tofu, pickled carrots and radish with a rocket and red pepper- all on fresh sourdough. Wow was this good! Next, well we had to have dessert! Along with a big fresh mint tea, we had a chocolate chip and walnut brownie and a piece of warm apple cake with whipped almond cream. It was all sprinkled with rose petals, which I thought might make it too floral-y, but I didn't taste it at all. The only thing you need to know is they ONLY take debit/pin cards! But only Maestro and OV Chipkaart (I think). They couldn't take Visa or Amex. I hope they can take more cards in the future. Thankfully, they did let us pay with cash as we tourists had no other cards! I would certainly be a regular if I lived in Amsterdam! I'll just have to wait until my next trip.

Lemongrass Chai Latte and vegan chocolate cake

I am in love with this little cafe! Right across from Westerpark it's filled with locals and their pups. The Lemongrass Chai Latte is out of this world and I don't know what magic they have but their vegan milk substitute is fantastic. Pin card only (no cash).

Good lattes, the chocolate chip cookie wasn't really good though. I know cakes is their thing not cookies but I wasn't feeling cake (or pie) so I can't comment on that aspect. It was however a nice atmosphere. So I can recommend for lattes and relaxing but not for the treats.

English meny, very friendly staff! Ordered pancakes and croissant

It's a good cafe! We took a dirty chai, I prefer regular apparently, lemon passé, blueberry pancakes and a croissant with jam! Took a while to get the food but they make it by hand So of course you have to wait a little :) pancakes were good, nothing special really (I ate matcha pancakes yesterday mmm) croissant was awesome!

This cafe is absolutely lovely. It is cozy and cute with plants hanging and succulents on each table. The menu includes a great array of drinks and on the counter were many delicious sweets to choose from. The woman working there was so kind and friendly! I got the lemongrass chai latte, which was unique and so delicious!! I recommend it. Next time I will definitely try the sweets and come back for lunch.

Heavenly Sandwich, dirty chai latte, pineapple morning juice, cookie

My friend and I visited for breakfast this morning and split the Heavenly Sandwich (cream cheese and jam), chai latte and Pineapple morning juice (pineapple, orange and ginger) and chocolate chip oatmeal cookie. Everything was delicious and everything there is vegan! We loved the cute atmosphere and friendly barista! Definitely make a stop here for breakfast or lunch!

The smoky one - sourdough bread with smoked tofu and pickles

I adore this place and the love for food they serve here. The sourdough bread they make themselves, the smoky tofu is brilliant and the organic ginger beer is to die for. My favourite vegan place in town.

Delicious cake and sandwiches and super friendly service. I said the cake was delicious, right? Because the cake is really good.

Fast forward a few years and now I'm delighted to accompany them to vegan restaurants such as Meatless District in Amsterdam, NL. The food was exquisite as was the service. I'm now obsessed with watermelon sashimi. I prefer this vegan bitterballen to the traditional because I didn't like the texture of the meat inside. I feel the dutch really like pureed meat. The mushroom bitterballen was so delicious as was everything else. The braised artichoke was just ok. Nothing to write home about but nothing wrong with it. It's just that everything else was so unique including the desserts. Lovely ambiance in the restaurant. I give my experience a 4 overall for the artichoke and I must mention the bathroom. This is more of a Dutch thing than anything else. Gender neutral bathrooms are cool. We Americans don't see that a lot. The problem is the individual stall was up a flight of stairs and so small that I couldn't even sit on the toilet and then there was nothing to pull myself up to get out the position I had gotten myself into. It was awkward. This stall needs a bar or something to help those of us who are not as able as we used to be. I'd go eat here again to try more of their dishes.

The staff was charismatic and genuinely helpful with the menu, taking time to explain dishes and give recommendations without ever rushing me. I ordered the black charcoal ravioli, which was rich and unique, and also tried the beet ravioli. I loved their creative take on raviolis. They were colorful, fresh, and full of flavor. The presentation matched the taste, and both plates felt thoughtful rather than gimmicky. It's the kind of place where you can relax into the atmosphere and enjoy food that's both beautiful and satisfying. Perfect for a slow meal with friends or a solo stop when you want something a little different.

This delicious spot is off the beaten path of the more touristy spots in Amsterdam, located on a quiet side street. We absolutely loved our meal - with clear influences from french, asian flavors, and italian. We started with a delicious amuse bouche by the chef, followed by the "pate" and fresh bread. It was earthy and good; a solid start. Our main dishes were truly a treat! We split one of the gnocchi options - the tomato sauce was delectable; I truly could have licked the bowl - and the black mushroom ravioli - so much delicious umami flavor! We ended with the peanut butter brownie and, let me just say, I am UPSET that we decided to split one instead of ordering our own! The service was a delight - they were so kind, clearly wanting us to enjoy the experience!

Staff don't bother to find tables for you; they let customers figure things out among themselves. Alright. We eventually grabbed a table after 5-10 minutes, then had our order taken 10 minutes later. The food took a long time to come out: about 40 minutes (other than 1 appy that came out after 20). Good thing it was tasty. We got: -plantain fries (€6) -- tasty, especially with the sweet dipping sauce, but you get about 8 fries, so not great value. -okonomiyaki (€12.90) -- this was wonderful. So many lovely textures, flavours, and seasoned beautifully. This was the highlight of the meal for me. -vegan plate (€18.90) -- really nicely designed plate, with a base of brown rice, with a sort of Japanese slaw, vegan chicken katsu, tempura (apparently, though I didn't notice it), and stir fried veggies. Super tasty stuff. Not the biggest portion, but not bad either. My friends each got the crispy roti wrap (€14.90), which they loved, and the taste I had was great. Overall, great food, not the best dining experience. Perhaps my experience wasn't representative. I'd go back for the okonomiyaki alone.
