Previously, we took the Freda B on the Wildlife Morning Sail in 2024, which was also fantastic. What makes the Freda B special is the crew. The vessel itself is gorgeous--even the "head" is great! From the moment you board and are greeted by the crew, you know you're in good hands. The safety instructions are thorough, and the crew immediately puts you at ease before setting off. Whether you have a clear night or a little fog (like tonight), the skies are beautiful, the Golden Gate Bridge is magical, and San Francisco twinkles in the distance. The crew meets your every need with kindness, excellent service, and genuine interest in you as a passenger. They're also an interesting bunch--just ask them about themselves! Hot (chocolate!) and cold beverages are available for purchase, including adult beverages. For out of towners...Wear and bring layers. Jacket + sweater/fleece, long pants, beanie hat, gloves if you have them. Blankets available onboard. This is SF Bay 12 months a year - always chilly and the sail is worth every layer of clothing. We celebrated my birthday tonight, and it was perfect. Thank you!

We sailed out of Sausalito floating across the Bay. We went under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz and Angel Island. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, and the views were absolutely beautiful!! One of my favorite parts was seeing SF from the water. The city, the Golden Gate, and the Bay Bridge all looked so tiny and beautiful in the distance. It was so fun waving to people on the shore and having people on the other boats wave back to us. It was just such a happy, fun, and delightful experience!! The crew was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating, which made the whole trip even better! We were lucky enough to join Wendy from Somatic Ecotherapy, and I'm so glad we got the opportunity to experience SF this way. By the end of the trip, my cheeks literally hurt from smiling so much!! It was just a genuinely delightful few hours, and I would absolutely recommend Captain Kirk's to anyone looking for a fun and memorable way to experience the Bay. I will happily do this again!

They have blankets on board but don't underestimate that ocean breeze when you're on open water. Each time they have done a different route so it continues to be new eating h time I go. Dick has easy access with stairs or ramp. Public parking is adjacent to the marina. Come early and take a stroll through the main drag of Sausalito. Never disappoints. Will be back!

It is amazing to see the work that goes into making sail. It's very impressive how the crew goes aloft to unfurl and furl the sails. The boat is very stable but there is some boat motion and it does heel a little but this adds just a bit of excitement. The crew is super helpful and as glad as everyone else to be on the water sailing. The views of the city, the islands and Alcatraz were great. No matter what the weather is on land it will be cool and windy on the water so bring a windbreaker and a thermal layer.

I fish for salmon almost every weekend during the summer, and most of what I know about salmon…read morefishing I've learned over the past 12 years fishing from my own boat. So, for the first time, I decided to see how the professionals do it. I chose Chasin Crustacean because this boat consistently gets early limits. I know this firsthand--I've watched him leave the fishing grounds with his customers while I was still working on catching my first fish. I'm happy to say he exceeded my expectations. We got our limits and were headed back to the dock by 9:30 a.m. I'd recommend fishing with Captain Christian to both first-timers and seasoned salmon fishermen. The Chasin Crustacean has plenty of room to fish and rides very smoothly. I used a TLD reel and Seeker rod, and all of the equipment--including the line, leaders, hooks, and bait--was in excellent condition. Christian also runs a much larger boat, the Outer Limits, which can accommodate up to 22 people compared with the six-person maximum on the Chasin Crustacean. I've also fished on the Outer Limits, and it's an amazing boat. It's a large catamaran that is incredibly comfortable--much more comfortable, in my opinion, than the monohull boats used by many other charters. If you get seasick like I do, I strongly recommend a catamaran. The stability makes a big difference. Christian has a great attitude and treated everyone in our group with patience and respect. As someone who spends a lot of time salmon fishing from my own boat, I went into this trip with pretty high expectations, and Christian delivered. I'm already looking forward to my next trip.

Our club went out yesterday Monday for salmon. Recreational salmon fishing opened the first time…read morein three years. A total of ten were caught. The captain and crew of two were on it. Anytime a salmon was hooked the crew was diligent in the attempt to keep it on the line and to bring it in. 80% success rate. It was a full day. The Outer Limits left at 5am returning at 4pm. Docked at Sausalito boat harbor. We drove over from the City. Most parking spots were already occupied when we arrived at 4:30am. Of course my salmon got away. But I took home a blue rock cod.
