Very good sushi, no doubt best I've had in Vero. They also offer Gluten Free soy sauce which is truly a savior at any sushi place for Celiac's. Nice selection of sakes also and dining options overran, from sushi to Thai cuisine. The only knock I'd give it is the massaman curry I had was sweeter than I'm accustomed to but it could've been because I didn't order it hot. Will definitely be back, great spot! read more

I had a hard Tim finding sushi rolls that had a lot of fish. So I ended up ordering the salmon with cream cheese (who doesn't love that - not smoked) and the volcano roll which was presented quite differently. While normal volcano rolls are difficult enough to eat, this one, being baked and crisped on top made it especially difficult to eat. While both were supremely delicious, with the lack of "fish filled" roll choices this close to the beach, I had to leave off a star. Service was good, wine was chilled appropriately and fish served was fresh. I liked it, but probably will go elsewhere for more choices. They do have a great selection of Thai food but I didn't try that. I love Thai food as well but sushi almost always wins out when given a choice. read more

What a great find! Thanks to Yelp for helping us find an excellent Vietnamese restaurant in Vero Beach. It looked deserted from outside but when we went in for a 1:00 lunch it was nearly full of locals who appreciate great, reasonably priced Vietnamese food in a lovely, intimate atmosphere. Hubby and I were seated and immediately served a chicken and rice soup along with a small tasty fruit/veggie appetizer- complimentary with all lunches!!!Wow!!! There were s number of lunch specials but we chose to have a "bun" - a wonderful salad with vegetables and noodles- a favorite of ours. It was excellent - crisp and tasty. I could say more about the other pluses such as the prompt and courteous service, pleasant atmosphere, etc but perhaps mentioning the one shortcoming will explain my feelings- I only wish it was in my neighborhood! Tried this place last night and was excited to try this place because of the good reviews and rating. Walking up to the place i thought it looked cool. There's only street parking fyi. Walked in and it's a small establishment but i liked it. So initial impressions was solid. Now here is where it went down hill. Was seated and took like 15-20 for someone to get us some menus. I will say they were busy but the person seating us could have dropped us some. As we were waiting for our menus i was leaning on the table and when i picked my arms up it literally ripped my hair off! I am not one to ask hard working workers to clean again and i usually will do it myself but this needed a solid wet wipe down. Looking over the menu i kept getting a weird gross smell. I couldn't pin point it as it was lurking all around. Still i wanted to stay positive about the place and dismissed all of this because it had a good rating. I was like maybe the food makes it all worth it. I get my food and it was average at best. My fiancé didn't even finish her food. I eat at Saigon Sushi all the time because they have good sushi and it's not stupid expensive. The service has been great but their cleaning is awful. I was there with a friend and we noticed a roach crawling on the wall and onto the table. Right then the lady walks up and kills it with a napkin. I asked her "could you please wipe the table down?" hoping to clean the entire table. She then wipes the spot where the roach had walked and nothing else. Drove to vero from miami and ate here. Food was great and the service was wonderful. Food has a really pretty presentation.

The restaurant is located in the "art district" of town. There are lots of restaurants in the area. It has an old school downtown feel. There are also consignment stores, mom and pop clothing stores, art galleries, music shops, etc within walking distance! There is also a nice community park about two blocks straight down the street; perfect for a family friendly outing. It's a quant area of town. It was not too overcrowded. I enjoyed walking the immediate area after our dinner. The interior of the restaurant was furnished eclectically; nothing over the top but still pleasing. It was nice and quiet, which made it easy to enjoy my meal and conversation with my husband. The staff was very prompt and friendly. You can tell they do little "extras" to provide an enjoyable experience to their customers. For instance, they add handmade, origami style, paper flowers on top of your drink straws. You can tell some puts time and love into making those for the customers. Additionally, they served a mini complementary dish at the start of the meal; a nice bonus! It was a seaweed salad mixed with various vegetables. It was very fresh tasting. We had a spicy tuna and eel hand roll as our appetizer. They were both good. I actually asked for a second spicy tuna roll after we finished these two! For our main course, I had the chicken, cashew, coconut curry with avocados. It was very satisfying. It was sweet and savory, yet it had just a hint of heat at the end; but not too hot. It was very balanced. Saigon is run by a local couple who have been doing this for a long time. They are Thai, but this restaurant also serves Vietnamese food and some very good sushi. My original review was 4/5 stars 2 years ago, but after two years of regular attendance I've revised my opinion because this is absolutely the best place to eat in Vero for the price. The owner is always friendly and makes my dinner a good experience. In fact the owners are what make this place the best Thai/Sushi place in town (which is good considering there are like 10 of them now in Vero). The menu is very expansive with nearly 200 items and overly the last 2 years I've still only tried about 50 of the dishes. I love every dish I've had. I love the curry fish, the huge scallops and prawns (Jimmy's Special), the Vietnamese noodle soup (Pho Doc Biet), the steamed summer rolls, and all the sushi dishes I've tried. Try the tuna tamaki to see a beautiful presentation of seared thin tuna that looks like a rose. This is the one restaurant I'm going to miss about Vero and one of the reasons I just may have to come back to visit. read more

The drunken noodles was edible, though, not the best. However, the tuna rolls should have never been served. Both of us, on taking our first bite, spit it out. My husband said they did not even pull the tuna out of the sushi case. They pulled a bag out from the underneath and used tuna from there. What was that!?! This is the first time, in my entire life, that I have not eaten sushi I have ordered. And to Saigon, if you are reading this, you knew better. The tuna was even foul by smell. Tried this with my son today for lunch. WOW... cute, small, quaint, but definitely get plenty with the amount of food they serve! My son ordered the Sushi/Sashimi Combo ($11.99) and I ordered the Hosomaki combo ($10.99). WOW! Very filling and very delicious! Both lunches came with a Rice soup and a type of coleslaw/salad. It had carrots, cucumbers, fruit, and crab in a vinaigrette dressing. The combo I had included 3 different sushi rolls, 1/2 orange, and 2 slices of a crunch roll. I couldn't finish it all. They personalize their drinks and food with designs in the food such as flowers or animals. Gives it a personal touch. The fish is very fresh for Sushi / Sashimi! Their prices are very competitive with other Sushi places around town. The service was outstanding and I would highly recommend everyone try it if you enjoy Sushi. They do have an extensive list of non-sushi items as well. I saw they have duck, so I will probably try that next time we go. The only downside is that there are 3 parking spaces on the same side of the street or parking across the street. No parking in the apartments next to it and I'm not sure how the grocery market would feel about you parking in their lot either. read more

I went at a slow time and found the staff to be a little distracted, however I was never wanting anything and they were all friendly enough. I wish I had tried the sushi so I could comment and I am sure I will in the future but for now I will say the curry chicken was the best I have ever had. I can't remember the name of the appetizer but it was also excellent. I had so much food I had to take much of it home, which is honestly how I like it. I'm not sure what happened over the course of 2 days. Two days ago we ordered a large take out order and everything was outstanding. It was so good we went back for lunch today. Today, everything was inedible. The pad Thai tasted totally different and dry. The cold, rice noodle salad I always get cane out drenched in a piping hot fish sauce..not the cold fish sauce that's it's supposed to come with. The shrimp were small and not grilled like normal. The entree was also good - did not taste sodium loaded - had very fresh veggies and tasty chicken. I've had the Thai Spring rolls, Shrimp Pad Thai, Chicken with Basil Sauce, and Grilled Jumbo Shrimp. All of these were very tasty. The Thai iced tea is very strong and concentrated but the server didn't have a problem with bringing extra glasses and iced water so we could dilute the drink.
