A small market with a variety of Asian products located in a stip mall, with the added bonus of being connected to a Peruvian Market. This is my mom's go to spot for Indonesian spices. I joined her on her last visit and walked through the tightly spaced aisles to discover that there is a small meat counter in the back and a small produce area as well. Prices are fair and the variety of products is good. We were in need of a particular item and the owner was helpful in leaving the register to help us find it. Just fun to browse if you're in the area. Next time, I'll check out the Peruvian Market.

    3 inch alfajore...$1 each. That's pretty cheap! 4.75 stars!

Stumbled upon this place as I was looking for Chinese broccoli. Most Asian groceries that would have this would be near the OC area and I wasn't trying to go that distance since I was already in this area. This is a small market that sells ethnic grocery items; from Chinese broccoli, to Peruvian spices. It's not like a Whole Foods, so don't expect glamour. The last time I came here, they were selling these giant alfajores for like $1 (or was it $2)? Either way, alfajores are usually more expensive than that. The coconut flakes outside give it a nice balance. Go for your sweet tooth. Go for your ethnic grocery needs! The end.

Great selection of Thai curry paste. Authentic and only $1.19/can

I've driven by this market for years and never stopped in. After seeing a picture of Thai curry paste posted on yelp, I decided to stop in. I was a little confused after parking in the lot because there seemed to be several doors leading in. I wasn't sure if I was walking into the right market, but found out that they all lead to the same place. There's a bakery/deli on one end, meat market towards the back, produce displayed out front and in the middle of the market, and spices and canned goods towards the left. The market appears to cater to different nationalities. I asked a gentleman at the counter if he had Thai curry paste and he directed me to aisle 3 on the left side. I was so surprised to see such a variety of the Maesri brand of paste, which I discovered watching YouTube as being one of the better brands. I had tried their green and red curry pastes recently and it really took my curry making to another level. I selected 8 cans of different pastes and felt like I won the lottery since I've been on the hunt for this brand for a while. I found their produce section and picked up Thai basil for only 99 cents a bunch. I saw other items that you would only find in an Asian market, such as Thai eggplants and bananas which looked like apple bananas that I only get to eat in Hawaii. The cashier who rang me up was so friendly and said if I ever wanted something, he'd be sure to help me. I wasn't sure if he meant that he'd help locate it in the store, or if he'd order it for me. It was a nice gesture nonetheless. He also told me that they had a seafood section in the back and fry fish for free. I'm so glad that I read all of the positive yelp reviews for Saigon Market and dropped in today. I know I'll be back.

Just a little sample of the items that I found at this store

I just spent over $200 for lots of spices, condiments, snacks, and frozen food given that I'm more serious in cooking due to this lockdown. They have amazing choices primarily for Southeast Asian and Peruvian ingredients. Amazon charges premium price for stuff you find here such as lime leaves, galangal, lemongrass, shrimp paste, and different variety of sambal. Additionally, you can also buy fresh meat and seafood as they have a butcher standby as well. Check my haul at this store here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pubW2X-HTIo&t=1s

I stopped by this market while waiting for my Vietnamese food next door. I am so impressed, not only do they have Vietnamese items but they have other Asian items too such as Thai and Filipino desserts, seasonings, meats and veggies. I got Vietnamese coffee and Thai iced tea.

    Cheaper than Amazon.com.

They had all the ingredients I needed to make Pho! Staff at the meat section and check out were friendly and helpful. The produce could have been more fresh but prices weren't bad. Excellent selection of Vietnamese goods. Pretty organized so things were easy to find. Only thing I didn't find was a -tall- cooking pot to make the pho but they did sell a variety of other large pots.

It is a small, ethnic, Asian and Hispanic retail food market in Lawndale with things you usually look for. Service is great.

    Do you have Asian pear?

I've never seen them here. So far I've had to go all the way to S-Mart in Torrance for those.

No matter the name, this is my go-to spot for Japanese groceries and prepared food. The parking situation is actually pretty easy and flexible since it wraps around the entire building, so you can usually find a spot without too much hassle. Inside, the selection is great. You'll find a wide range of authentic Japanese ingredients, snacks, and ready-to-eat meals that actually taste like what you'd get in Japan. One underrated highlight is the sushi restaurant upstairs. It's legit and a great option if you want a sit-down meal after shopping. Overall, this place has been a staple for me, and it's one of those spots worth supporting. If you're looking for authentic Japanese food and groceries in the South Bay, I definitely recommend checking it out.

I have only used it once or twice, but it was convenient when it was available. It seemed like much of the time, some left their car there to charge for long periods of time without shopping. Today I went in and tried to get a middle cut tri tip plate. They had a piece of meat that was on the end and have been sitting there for a while. I asked the cleric if he could cut into this other several pieces and give me a center cut and he said no we had to take the end piece. I said I didn't want the in peace and wanted the more juicier piece from the center. Ask for the manager and the manager didn't want to do it either. So we decided to skip lunch altogether at this place. No one might think well that's their policy. But I've got in there several times and there will be several pieces cut and that's what it's designed for. They have display window and they even ask you what chicken would you like. Every time we come in here it really looks like they don't love their job. They are not friendly but the food is okay. I've decided just to stop coming to this store altogether. The deli's friendly where you can get sliced meats but the meat department they always seem to be unfriendly, this smoke shop they definitely don't have customer service in mind. I don't go to a place to get perfect service. But it does seem that this place is starting to slip with how they treat a customer who wants to spend money.
