This location used to be Marukai and I have not been here long time. so went today to check out this store. It's similar lots of asian products even grocery store section. It's kinda like a costco for asians. We went to buy portuguese sausages and came out with cart of stuff

This place is different from the regular Asian market. You have all sorts of other items you can find. There's more sections other than groceries here. You can find a souvenir section where you'd get from the Island, a health and beauty section, a home goods section, some apparel and cute blind bags section, stationary section and then comes the snacks area and food. Their produce area is small and their live seafood even smaller. Lots of prices were in small portions and prices were reduced. Honestly the store...It's not how it use to be "Pre Covid" I remember they had a nice food court area too which is now only one bakery area. That's Sad, they had good food here too. I give this place 3.5 stars

Not gonna lie, but seeing a self serve hot food bar is a gamble sometimes. Food sometimes look great but taste quite the opposite. You're really taking a chance, because what if that chance is good and you find yourself a new go to??? unfortunately for me, i thought it was just okay. I would stick to the sushi. The chicken isn't all that bad, but you can get some really nice karaage at the small food court.

A smaller Tokyo central. It was clean and check out was fast. They even do sandwich catering! I got my hair dye from here.

This place is abit off vibe then the one in OC. Stopped by to get some snack upon it opens but it just didn't feel warm or welcome vibe at all. The place has a huge parking lot so it helps but it's not quite clean both outside and inside. Also not well organized as I expected as in OC (nice and neat). The food hall used to have a lot of vendor, now just less than a handful. The market itself is less impressive and as I walked by the fruits & veggies...not quite impressed at all. Not quite fresh or well stack. Found what I was looking for so I got and pay with nice white cashier and I left.

If you only have 10 seconds to read this review, then here's my recommendation: This is a great place to buy eggs! At this writing, their eggs are 499 a dozen, which is cheaper than most major supermarkets. But that's not the major reason, the main reason is there eggs are great quality. But if you have more time, or much more time, then this is a huge store of Japanese groceries, toys, cosmetics, and knickknacks. The store has huge selections of everything you could imagine for the house. Japanese vegetables and food items are their specialties. Staff is eager to help, and efficient. Store is well organized and clean. Prices are fairly reasonable, though I feel they are slightly higher than Daiso.

The biggest Japanese market in California. Didn't disappoint. Felt like a smaller Don Quixote with Japanese kitchen supplies, beauty products, and some toys. They have a great selection of Japanese and Asian food products. They have fresh warm food as well and bakery/pastries products. Totally worth visiting.

Perfect place for all your favorites. The sushi is always fresh and there are plenty of options. You can always ask the staff for help finding something and they are extremely nice. There's also plenty of smaller food options inside. They have a great outside seating area as well.

This was my first time here, but I was happy to see such a large store with various Japanese and Hawaiian goods, as well as other Asian foods and cookware. There were games for kids and adults, as well as Shohei Otani shirts in honor of the Dodger player. One drawback, was the lack of shopping carts though, as there are only nine carts for shopping. I guess the carts can get in the way, and are often stolen, so it kind of makes sense to just use hand-held baskets. For the elderly though, this could be difficult to manage, as canned foods and other products can get pretty heavy.

Variety of pastries

This supermarket is heaven for Japanse treats. I wish it is closer to my house, they have everything from ramen, to donut, to matcha flavored pastries. Such a fun place to walk around and I guarantee you will want to splurge more than needed if you step into here. Everything looks so good. Very Organized and clean place, super nice Staffs

They do have a mighty selection of goods and services and a wide variety of Japanese items. Hard to find Japanese snacks and drinks are here. Found some pink pineapple here when it was in season and they were reasonably ripened. Also, they have a hot food bar and ready made sushi... which my family and I partake in once in a while. It's next to Best Buy on Hawthorne Blvd. I thought it was an odd location at first, but I got used to it being there. There are quite a few Japanese grocers competing in the South Bay, but this is the biggest one by far.

My 95 year old Japanese Momma Kiki lives in Santa Clarita which is completely lacking any authentic Japanese markets. Ok, not just authentic.. they have ZERO Japanese markets! *Note to corporate.. there is a large, abandoned Albertsons supermarket location on The Old Road in Valencia that's likely quite negotiable if you're looking to expand. Whenever Mom is up for a road trip, we plan a "Mommy & Me" day to run around the South Bay for a day of shopping and to enjoy good eats! While looking for glasses at the Torrance Costco, a friendly customer was chatting and highly recommended the new Tokyo Central, so we pivoted from our usual visit to the Gardena mothership and aimed for PCH. When you walk in, the magnificence of the store slaps you! Its bright, open concept is well organized and immaculate. Restaurants and a food court are laid out nicely. 5 stars! So why is my review only 4 stars? I have to take away 1/2 star because the hot, cold buffet area and salad bar closes at 4pm and we arrived at 4:15pm. It was definitely an "us" problem, but I'm sure a lot of customers would love to come in for dinner after work. The other 1/2 star was for the items we found throughout the store that were well beyond their printed "use by" dates. All 3 types of the Shio Koji in the refrigerated section, a boxed vegetable drink that was displayed in the front of store with more on shelves inside and in the refrigerator. After searching they all expired in Feb, April and August of 2026. There weren't any that were in date. If they were marked down as recently expired it would be different, but that was not the case. It caused me to check dates on everything we shopped for and I found 10 different SKUs with expired product. I've always thought of TC as a place where I would never need to worry about dates.. I mentioned it to our cashier and she had the product mgr come over so I could let him know. Other than the expired dates, the location experience was a huge WOW and we will be back! I'll still be checking dates, though. Hopefully we arrive at lunchtime to check out the buffet! Bonus.. there are several handicapped parking spaces immediately in front of the entrance, making access easier for those who need it.

They have a food court, a bakery that looked ridiculously good, and a huge grocery selection. I kept finding sauces and products I hadn't seen at other Japanese markets. But the prepared-food section was what really got me. Everything looked incredibly fresh. The onigiri alone had me wanting to start grabbing things even though I had literally just eaten. I basically walked around realizing I need to come back hungry because there's way too much here that I want to try. Definitely one of those markets I could accidentally spend way too much time in. One thing I would not lock yet: the Japanese market's name. From your description I know exactly which experience you're talking about, but I don't want to guess the business name and attach the review to the wrong place. Also, before we redo Big Dan's, I'd check whether you already reviewed it since you think you may have.

It's a massive two story building in Gardena with groceries and a conveyor belt sushi sit-down restaurant on the second floor. They have a large parking lot that is usually fine but can get wild on the weekends as it wraps around the building - instead of just being a huge open lot or garage. They carry many Hawaiian items, in addition to Japanese products from eats to skincare. Their grab & go sandos are pretty good - both the pork katsu sando and the egg salad sandwiches are tasty. They have a hot buffet so you can try up to 20 different items for a by the pound price. The Gindaco counter in the food section has takyoyaki (fried octopus balls) which are popular here.
