Stopped by Saigon Corner for a lunch on a hot day, was relieved that they had the AC blasting. Ordered the dry rice noodle with pork and seafood (Hu Tieu Kho), the pork chop rice, and a coconut coffee. Service was speedy and friendly, and the food was great! I don't often find hu tieu kho at Vietnamese restaurants in San Diego so really excited to find a spot. They have a good variety of dishes, I'm excited to come again and try the rest! #saigoncornersd
I love this place! Came for dinner and one look at the menu, I wanted to try everything. They have a lot of traditional vietnamese dishes including dishes I haven't seen in most vietnamese restaurants in San Diego - only from my mom's kitchen. I chose an item from the special menu mostly because it came with 2 items I could try in one sitting: canh chua and ca kho. The ca kho, first bite, it brought me back to my childhood when my mom would make it for me. The caramelized sugar was just heavenly. That sauce on rice is just amazing. The catfish was also perfectly cooked. I would definitely get this again and I highly recommend it. The canh chua was also very good. The sweet and sour notes with tomato is just refreshing. I can't wait to come back to try more of their dishes! I will definitely be back.
This is my new spot for authentic vietnamese food goodness! This is just outside of vinh hung. They have a nice patio area and the inside is comfy but small. The workers here are extremely nice and so helpful with desserts and drinks. I got a bun rieu and I might add its one of the best ive ever had. It was absolutely delicious! Its savory and flavorful with a rich broth. This hit the spot! I love that the noodles was a bit thicker. The waitress recommended an avocado drink dessert. Its really che, but this dessert was refreshing and not overly sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next time I will try the dry egg noodles. Im sure it'll be yummy in the tummy!
This place has authentic viet food. You can access it on the side of Vinh Hung closer to the gas station. Got the pork chop with broken rice. Came with a fried egg, pork chops, meatloaf, rice, picked veggies, shredded pork, and soup. The rice was fluffy, the egg cooked well and the pork chops were soft with a savory sweet flavor. The meatloaf was soft but needed a lil more seasoning. Will be back to try more dishes!
I came to Saigon Corner for lunch with my family and was pleasantly surprised. They have a wide variety of dishes that were all delicious! I recommend!
My husband ordered the braised fish with sour soup and I ordered the banh khot. My husband gave his meal at five star. He enjoyed the taste the presentation. I gave my dish, probably three stars. I think the. it could have been a little bit crispy, and my original dish was not served with enough veggies. I also ended up giving it one less star because there is a billboard that says you will get a free drink with a Yelp review and when I showed the Yelp review, it actually is a free coffee not a free drink. my review, also went down one more star because as I asked for additional veggies, the server just gave me a weird look and did never gave me an answer. My veggies just appeared two minutes later.
We had takeout from this restaurant, and everything came thoughtfully packaged. My favorite dish was the garlic noodles with filet mignon beef cubes. All of the flavors were spot on, and the filet mignon was perfectly tender. The com tam suon bi cha (grilled pork chop with rice) dish was quite good as well. I liked the garlic fish sauce that came on the side. It was also nice that the broth came on the side, which paired nicely with the rice. The only improvement would be a slightly bigger portion for the price, but I would definitely return!
Food here is delicious ( my scale: delicious is 6+/10, 9/10 means I'll remember it for life). Lemongrass beef noodles Bún bò Huế : 8/10 Quang noodles Mỳ Quảng: 8.2/10 Baked mussels: 7/10 Service is very good. Staff are nice and friendly. I come here for the staff too.
Saigon Corner is literally located at the corner of the Vinh Hung Supermarket. Our friends were excited to try this restaurant and were kind enough to bring us takeout for us to try. They brought us: garlic steak noodles and the pork chop broken rice dish. The garlic noodles were the star of the show with tender juicy steak complimenting the noodles . The pork chop in the broken rice dish was one of the better bone-on pork chops I have had at a Vietnamese restaurant. Not the largest portions for the price but the food was quite solid and I would definitely get the garlic steak noodles again.
I always go here for their Bo Ne and it always hits. Everything is so authentic, I've also had their banh canh, beef rice plate, and coconut sugar cane juice. The staff is extremely friendly! Highly recommend bringing your viet friends here.
Food was delicious definitely a come back place and it right next to huge vietnamese supermarket
I just ordered their egg coffee and coconut coffee. I took my family here and we had an amazing experience. we ordered Banh canh, Bo ne, and com tam. The staff is nice too. The atmosphere here is pretty auth

I live in Mira Mesa and was very excited to try this new gem. It was so good that I took my sister with me the next day! My favorite is the Hu Thieu with the soup on the side with Me Da (Tamarind Drink). I will definitely try almost all of the dishes on their menu! The older man is so cute and the young lady is very sweet as well. They're very friendly and generous. Please give this restaurant a visit, you won't regret it. read more

The food was amazing! Service was fast, and the atmosphere was calm and inviting with soothing music playing in the background. It's such a cute spot with friendly workers--I felt very welcomed. We ordered the Bò Né and the Bún Riêu--both were absolutely delicious. The dishes came out piping hot and stayed hot until the very last bite, which I really appreciated. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, especially the veggies that came with the Bún Riêu. Lastly we ordered Boba and Cafe Sua Da and it was very refreshing (boba) and strong tasting (cafe). We will definitely be back. Highly recommend this place! read more

I like the spicy noodle soup #5 and the #6 ice tamarind drink. Its a good level of spiciness for me with a little bit of sourness like kimchi and richness from the pork bone broth. Its filled to the brim with toppings and the noodles were a great texture. The garlic fried beef noodles were very garlicky and topped with some well seared cubes of beef. The side salad had a nice sesame dressing and some very ripe mini tomatoes. Cant ever go wrong with a passion fruit green tea to round out the savoriness of the dish. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The ambiance of the restaurant is so much better than the previous owner. The renovated space is very nice and has a fresh feel read more

Always check your food before eating Most of the food I've tried here is pretty decent. However, since the restaurant is still new, their system and service aren't very efficient yet. If you have a lot of time and don't mind if service is good or not, and you're mainly here for the taste, this place might be worth trying. Otherwise, be prepared for long wait times, either to receive your food or to be informed that your order is out of stock. Both times I visited, I waited over 30 minutes just to find out the item I ordered wasn't available. Personally, I didn't mind the wait, but it could be frustrating for others. In my last visit, I ordered their balut and was served a spoiled one. Unfortunately, I ate half of it and started noticing the strange taste, then checked the other half and discovered green-black moldy discoloration and signs of spoilage. Now I'm just bracing myself for the incoming food poisoning and hoping for the best. My recommendation: always check your food, stick with their noodle dishes for a quicker and safer experience, and avoid the balut for now as it can spoil easily and very harmful to eat. read more

I had an amazing dining experience at this authentic Vietnamese restaurant- Saigon Corner in San Diego, California last night. We went in a group so that it's a good chance to try a variety of food. My friend tried the Vietnamese pork noodle soup- Mì Gõ khô and it was perfectly cooked noodles with flavourful broth. I also tried the rice with fried chicken, and it was equally impressive. We also ordered wonton soup, and ox tail beef noodle which is really fragrant and tasty. We had milk tea, Đá Me (Tamarind and peanut), and orange fruit tea. All of them are comforting. If you're looking for a place that serves authentic Vietnamese food, this spot is definitely worth a visit. I'll definitely be coming back for more! read more

New place in Mire Mesa. Service was great, plenty of parking, food was not bad. Some were good some can be improved but that is just our preference. Everyone will have different taste flavors. Spicy noodle for me is not spicy at all for the highest level they have. Overall not too bad. read more

The entrance faces the back of the building shared with Vinh Hung Supermarket, which is also sort of hidden unless you are specifically looking for it and have it mapped on a gps. Hu Tieu Saigon served in broth was excellent. Broth was flavorful and doesn't just taste like salt & sugar water. Rice noodles were cooked perfectly, not mushy or clumped together. At first I thought the fried fish dumplings were fried fish balls, but it's actually cha ca. I have never seen it that shape and size before so I'm guessing those were made in house. Shrimp was plump. Pork slices and ground pork were lean but not overcooked. There were little crumbles of chiccharon that brought the flavor up another level. I didn't care for the quail eggs but that's minor. I loved that they brought over the chili condiments without me having to ask. Even though the broth was already perfect without, I loved the lightly pickled garlic slices, jalapeños, and light colored chili paste. The sweetness from my coconut kumquat drink balanced out all the heat that I added to my bowl. It has little cubes of coconut jelly and tastes like sweetened coconut water with kumquats -- not a coconut milk drink. Can't wait to try the rest of their menu. read more
