I was craving some boba tea yesterday and my husband and I decided to stop by Sago since we were in the area. This was our first time at the business, but we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and gave recommendations, and the decor was fun. There was a neon sign there for photo ops. They also sell other Filipino goods like ube cheesecake, lumpia, ube ice cream, prawn crisps, hot dogs, and more. There are several flavors and add ins for the milk tea. I got the taro brown sugar specialty milk tea at 50% sweetness with boba. It was the BEST milk tea that my husband or I had ever had! The sweetness was perfect, the flavor was delicious, and the boba was fresh and soft. It was also the most expensive that I've ever had at almost $10 after a tip. By far, the most hidden gem is near me. I was wondering around the Hunts Club Plaza just to see what was in it. I found this establishment, and I parked to try it out. They had a variety of snacks, oils, sauces, bakery items, and many more. I got to try their taro milk tea with oatmilk and lychee popping bobba. Hopefully, I said that right. Lol The service was quick and friendly. I even tried the Ube waffle because I love me some waffles and ube flavors. I will probably be going here every day from now on. I was here a few years ago and didn't like it. Today I chose to give them another try. The inside is beautiful. They have good prices. Sadly, the boba here just isn't good (to me) It tastes artificial. I ordered the coconut milk tea and honeydew slush on the phone, it was ready quickly and looked great. I've been here many times before, and they honestly don't disappoint. Halo-Halo, a dessert well known to Filipinos, is one of the most popular cold desserts out there. They did a pretty good job with the coconut, Ube ice cream, Leche Flan, legumes, condensed milk and crushed ice. Also, unsure of the type or amount of matcha they use as the drink was more of a pale green and I was not able to taste much matcha flavor (but I am an avid matcha drinker and use ceremonial matcha frequently). I've tried many different types of drinks with boba or with added coconut jellies here that were very sweet so I wanted to try something different every time. Names aside, each flavor tastes incredible and clearly hails to the sweet treat it's inspired by. Even the Ube Overload distinguishes itself from seemingly similar Taro teas served at other stores. (To me it tastes reminiscent of Sapin-Sapin, which is a personal favorite of mine) Needless to say, all the staff are incredibly nice and the store itself is adorable. The last place before me and my sister headed home. We drove to this established and wanted to try out their beverages. My sister said she saw ads of this place on social media and heard it was good. We walked in and there was a nice set up and an area to do social media photos. I ordered the Ube Matcha Overload and my sister had the Dalgona. My Ube Matcha Overload was good and not too sweet which is how I like it. The Ube whipped cream was delicious and fluffy along with the colorful swirl of both Ube and Matcha. Very interesting taste as it blended well together. My sister's Dalgona was also good to and the coffee content was perfect to my taste. I would definitely recommend this place and note that parking is on a hill (you'll be parked sideways). The staff was great and the photo area was very creative. Still dreaming about this Tea Bar in Apopka/Altamonte Springs (Orlando Burb area). It is filipino owned which is awesome and with that comes more fun flavor options. I love their ube overload boba. Small little shop that sells some frozen Filipino meats like tusino and longanisa at a pretty fair price, they also had some cheese ensanda, ube rolls, fresh hopia and so much more snacks. For $6 I got a good sized Taro slushee. It was really tasty and sweet. They had other Phillipine staples such as Halo Halo starting at $9 which I would like to try next. I had the strawberry milk tea and it had a very weird taste to it. It tasted like I was drinking perfume. The milk teas were very thin and the popping boba I had kept popping in the drink. I rated them 3 stars (actually 2.5) based off a system I created. I didn't give them any stars for service because we weren't greeted, it took a good minute before anyone came to help us at the cash register and the man was not welcoming at all. There were 3 other people in this whole place and it took long for us to get our two boba drinks. I gave them a star for their menu options and store options. They have hands down the most options of boba milk tea flavors I have yet to see and they have a lot of Asian goodies and grocery items in the shop you can browse from. I also gave them a star for their their restaurant ambiance. It's quirky and cute and clearly they curated a nice theme. It was warm inside but I think it's just cause their shop is facing the sun and it was the middle of the day. Now when it comes to the last two stars I reserved that for taste and quality of the boba and I only gave them half a star for that. The bobas drinks were incredibly sweet, lacked high quality and the boba quality itself is the worst I've tasted thus far around the orlando area. I believe this is one of the few places that specializes in Filipino drinks and desserts in Orlando. They have plenty of drinks and desserts to choose from and pretty much all of them are aesthetically pleasing. My friend and I got the ube overload and the brazos de Mercedes. Both drinks were amazing! I think I liked the ube overload better, however the brazos de Mercedes was very unique in that it had cake in it! I can't believe I've been going to Sago for a year now and still haven't written my review! They recently celebrated being opened for a year and I couldn't be happier for them. I remember going to their pop ups and falling in love with the Ube overload, which is still my favorite drink. Really anything ube on their menu is delicious. It's got a similar flavor to taro which you may find in other tea places. But Ube is unique to Philippines and has a more nutty, creamy flavor in my opinion. On top of their delicious drinks, they also serve yummy desserts, and now breakfasts and snacks! I love their Ube cake so much we ordered a full cake for a birthday. Guy behind the counter didn't get his name but he was great. There was so many options I didn't know where to start so I got the halo halo overload, the ube cake and the mango cake. The mango cake was the better of the 2. The mango cake was light and sweet you can eat it again and again. The ube cake I was super exited for but a little disappointed. The ube had a crème brûlée top. With the combine textures it wasn't good, it had the graininess from the sugar that I felt took away from the star which is the ube. Now the halo halo so many things where do I start. Everything that's in it was delicious. I don't know what it all was but it was all good. The best ? Is that ube icecream they put in. There are many Boba places where you would go just to try a couple of their signature drinks, this one is no exception. Sago is particularly convenient if you live close by Forest Lake Academy/ Church or what I'd call the 'back of Longwood' area. Aside from the boba, they also custom make desserts such as cakes alike. They also carry some Filipino goods and place Filipino TV shows, so if you grew up in the Philippines, you will certainly feel nostalgia there. We went there basically just to relax and ordered the Ube overload. We made sure to ask for ~25% sugar or we'd 100% certain that we would develop type 2 diabetes. Wow this place was so good! It's located in Apopka but so close to Orlando and Mt. Dora. It's huge and clean. The owner was very friendly and she helped us explain the drinks and suggested what was their best seller. We ordered the Taho (Made of silken tofu, syrup and pearl), ube supreme (purple yum), halo-halo, and braso de mercedes, and buko pandan boba. I love everything that we ordered, so so good! I live in east Orlando, so I do not get to Apopka very often. But when I do, I have to stop at Sago Tea Bar ATBP. It is an awesome Filipino tea and dessert shop that opened in November 2020. ATBP in the name translates to "At Iba Pa" in Tagalog, or "Et cetera" in English. Sago is the Filipino version of boba. I have tried the Halo-Halo, Sago't Gulaman, Cantaloupe Tea, and Puto Cheese. They also serve different types of samalamigs, taho, different types of kakanin, cornick, ube cheese pandesal, ensaymada, milk bubble teas, and many other Filipino snacks and food items.
