Though my parent enjoys it at the Manor, I've been concerned about continuous increases in the rent and fees, especially the latest increase of just shy of 15%! This latest increase seems to have pushed residents "over the edge," with several now moving out to nicer and cheaper alternatives. The Manor seems to have also lost several good and caring employees that we really liked. I'm starting to get concerned about the trends I've been witnessing. I hope these trends don't continue.

We were looking for a facility where more eyes would be on her and she could get Care if she needed it. We toured many independent/assisted living facilities in the Scottsdale and Phoenix area. When we walked in the door at Manor Village, we knew we had found Moms new home. We were greeted by Wesley Wilkins who provided us with a tour and as we moved throughout the building, Wesley knew all the residents that we came in contact with as well as employees. You could tell he really enjoys his job and every employee we talk with had a smile on their face. The entire building had a wonderful vibe and the residence we interacted with were so welcoming and friendly. We feel confident that if any emergency or care is needed, Mom is in the right place. It is now been a couple of months since she moved in and we could not be any happier. It has been such a positive experience and I would highly recommend Manor Village if you're looking for a facility that will treat your loved one like family. We chose Vi at Grayhawk because of the outstanding ranking of their health care unit and the warmth of the residents in the community. We attended several "meet the residents" marketing events. Our transition has been flawless. We sold our home very quickly, before the total renovation of our apartment was completed so the sales team at Vi provided housing for us for 5 weeks and absorbed the cost of storage of our furniture. They provided a recommendation for an excellent mover, and put us in touch with a relocation specialist who drew a floor plan to advise which pieces of furniture would fit in our new space. This experience has been much better than we could have expected. The staff is overwhelmingly kind and responsive, the food is delicious (two dining spaces, one formal and one casual) and we are so comfortable in our beautiful apartment. We're thrilled to be at Vi at Grayhawk.

I blame this institution for my mother's physical decline. Maintaining muscles is critical for quality of life and I don't care how good the food is here, the quality of care is garbage.

I spent several years looking for a long term facility for her because I didn't want to be caught off guard if something happened and she needed placed. I didn't want this important decision made in haste. After visiting more than a dozen facilities in the valley I selected Pacifica. I tell you the background because I have read several reviews not all good about the facility and I feel it's important give perspective. In addition to my research and visiting the facilities around the valley, my father was in three different facilities before he passed. What I have learned and I believe families should be aware is no place is going to feel perfect. No place is going to be as good as your loved one with normal health or brain function and living in their own home. So it's important to look for a partner in your care. I am beyond grateful that I found Pacifica. Although it's only 4 min from my house I would not have known about it without Care Patrol who let me know they had Alzheimer's cottages. From the first visit I felt heard, understood and respected. When we have had what I call "growing pains" them learning my mom, them learning my expectations and me learning their abilities and goals for mom, the executive director and departmental directors have had their doors wide open. When there have been challenges there has been a very lovely word - "yes" that they use in order to make sure we find a way to make the situation better. I love that my mom still has dignity and privacy in the cottage. I love that the little things to make her room a home have been met with a yes. I think the cottage based system should be the future for Alzheimer's. I have not seen a cognition based system implemented as well as it is here. My mom is very high functioning and so are the peers in her cottage. But I have the peace of mind knowing when she does need more help or loses her ability to communicate etc that there is a place for her on the same property in another cottage. Stop and see what I mean for yourself.

Maryvilla is one of the few places that actually have 24/7 nurses that makes sure the loved one gets the best possible care - Been going for about a year. There's two dining rooms with gourmet food, great 24/7 security - and there's 24/7 activities that happen there. There is few pianos to play on, a small arcade area, a library. There's a huge living room where residents watch movies and the view from the balcony areas is great during July 4th fireworks in the area. No complaints here, you may see protected wild life like Javelins in the area but thats typical in Scottsdale. This area is also next to Fairmont Princess Hotel so out of state loved ones can visit and stay at walking distance. So this place may be more expensive than most places that just let the residents sit around - I seen interaction with residents with the caring nurses that's been there for many years. I can only assume that many of the people on staff at Maravilla have no aging loved ones, because if they did, they would behave with more compassion and humanity than we ever saw from them. My advice...Keep shopping and you'll find something better. It might not be as pretty as Maravilla, but the people will probably care about your loved ones more.

It's very difficult to watch your loved ones get older, it took us some time to find the right assisted living for my grandmother and when we interviewed with Soft Touch we were beyond IMPRESSED! The ambiance, culture and cleanliness is impeccable. I mostly appreciate the kindheartedness of the caregivers, they always go above and beyond to make sure my grandmother is well taken care of. The location is great, close enough for me to be able to drop in and see my grandmother on the weekends and its in such a peaceful community.

We exchanged Happy New Years before our informal Meeting. Suddenly Tim reached under his desk And place a Red Bag on his desk. Along side he placed A piece of cake covered with Sprinkles. In the Red Base was Hot Wheels Car , my first, a Fridge Magnate, An Orange Marker 4 pieces of assorted Chocolate. A Stone Ridge Pad . Also Caplin Tim included his business card and tapped to the side of my Birthday Goodie Bag was a Birthday card signed by the Director of Operations, I met her, 1 of the 2 Social Workers, and the receptionist who is waiting to be tested so she can assume RN duties for the Hospice. My only Question. I ask after Chaplain Tim shared the Minimum Hours required are 1. I stated I would like to work a few hours whenever I am asked.
