A little late, but we went here in the fall and fully FALLED out. Hate to say it, but yes -- I'm…read moreobsessed with all things fall. It's truly my happiest time of year. Right off the bat, here's what I loved about this day: Big parking lot Dog friendly Live music A small‑business market Food We came on a weekend in October, so definitely check their website to see what events are happening when you go. Admission is free, but you do pay for parking. You can easily spend a whole day here, so I recommend bringing comfortable shoes, a hat, sunscreen, water, and even a blanket or chair. We arrived during a live band set, but seating was limited -- still such a fun vibe. You can also go in and out if you need to grab something from your car. They were grilling up backyard‑style burgers with sides, and it honestly felt like being at a neighborhood BBQ -- grab your drink from the cooler, pick your chips, add your toppings, and enjoy. I loved it. The pumpkin patch is huge and has every type of pumpkin you can imagine. I'd never seen white or black gourds before, but they had them here. There's a lot to walk around and explore, and make sure to stop by the farm shop for packaged nuts, seasonings, honey, and other goodies to take home. My pup Enzo had the best time -- enjoy these pics of him living his best fall life.

The driver had no clue and kept going. Luckily when we yelled at our 3 y/o to stop he listened and didn't run into the wagon as it was crossing . besides that we had lots of fun , but we left right after that close call.

Sunmist Tangerine Farm - $2.50 a pound or entire 8lb bag for $20

It's not about the price, but about the experience. We enjoyed our time in nature and had some…read morefield-eating to our heart's content as we picked our mandarins and filled our bag too. Although we showed up near "closing" time, we did not feel rushed. There were multiple families still picking and others just enjoying the park/shade area. For $20 to fill an 8lb bag, and no admission fee, we found it to be very much worth it. The trees are on a hill so there is a bit of a hike involved but we were aware of it ahead of time. Plan accordingly, bring proper shoes and water!

Found this farm on Groupon. Bought a deal for admissions. Regular admission fee is $5 per person…read more Then you can fill up an 8lb bag with Tango Tangerines for $20 or $2.50 a pound. The drive to the farm was easy on a dirt road once you're on Avenida Del Oro, go through the entrance gate to the paved parking lot. You'll see the owner, Mr. Yu hanging out at the tables. He scanned our Groupon and gave us each a bag. Said no rules, we can go anywhere on the property. Also gave us a small bottle of freshly juiced OJ. I had my elderly mom with me and Mr. Yu suggested that we drive back out near the front entrance where the grounds are level. Otherwise, it would be too steep for my mom. I'm so glad he suggested this because we didn't have to hike up a slope, not many people come this way so there were many large tangerines up for grabs! Tips: -Sun hat -Sunscreen -Sunglasses -gloves -Closed toe shoes (slippery when wet) -Tools for easy snipping or to grab the ones up high -Gently twist, don't pull the fruit -You can sample while you pick! -Clean restrooms -pay at the end Over 35 acres of tangerines, the very top of the hill are avocados, the trees in front of the parking lot are lemons and on the other side are blueberries. The video you see on You Tube or their website is outdated. They do not have a restaurant or wedding area but they are working on rebooting this. The tangerines are so juicy with a mix of sweet and sour. They have limited hours on Saturday and Sunday only from 10-2. The Groupon deal asked for reservations. I wasn't a fan of this just because things could change so I sent an email asking how strict and got an automatic reply, same as the last with a form to fill out reservations. I wish it was more personable. When I got there, he only cared about scanning the Groupon. So I don't think they are strict if you were to just show up without a reservation. Be on the lookout for snakes!!! Stick to the trees that you can clearly see through the branches. Avoid the ones that are all bushy as if something could be hidden there. My mom saw a snake coiled up on the branch when she was about to stick her hand through.

Flowers were in bloom and they did offer raspberries, but also said that was slim as well. Sure enjoy, with 3 people and 6 eyes, we were able to fill up. You pre-pay and then they give you your container. Walk around and you can come here to pick different fruits during different seasons. Guess what, they have a petting zoo inside as well! How cool! If there is food available and they haven't been fed too much, you can grab a scoop and feed away! Staff was friendly and very helpful in navigating, especially when you forget where you are supposed to walk to in order to pick your fruit. I would say it is about farmer's market pricing, definitely not on the cheaper scale but you are paying for quality here. Can't wait to come back! We came here in August 2025, and then my Husband brought his mother and siblings here in October 2025. They loved it as well. Plenty of parking, although dirt parking, easy to get in and out. Highly recommend if coming to Julian. This is a landmark/staple of Julian to visit.

Pricing is great and affordable we did the Barnyard experience ! I didn't know they did online reservations which is something we will do in the future as the line to purchase tickets was a little long . The animals are very cute , but some of them are a little more aggressive for food so watch out ! Overall we loved the experience we had! So many places to walk and take pictures! I knew it was busy due to the parking but it didn't feel as overcrowded since the space is so large ! Highly recommend everyone to bring their families !
