He has ALWAYS been in a hurry and in my case never got back to me on the results of tests he ordered. I have to remind him when I gone in and then he starts reading the results, right in front of me. Apparently my health means very little but this was the first time I have ever missed a doctors appointment in my life. I realized my mistake and called the clinic within 20 mins of missing the appointment. They told me it was too late to come in and offered to book a new appointment. I apologized and accepted the new appointment. Three hours later I get a call telling me Dr Nel wants me to pay him 100 dollars for missing the appointment! I would have paid 50 dollars but 100! Forget it! If that is the kind of man he is I'll find another doctor. Talk about greed. He makes well over 200 thousand a year and sits in his office with his gold watch. I make under 60 thousand and have three children, miss one appointment by 20 mins and he demands 100 dollars. I'm seeing red. He can find another client. I'm done with him. I should have left long ago.

Wait times can be horrible, but I think that is true of any medical appointment. Dr. Mentz also often makes snap judgments, but she hasn't lead me wrong yet. I've never had to wait for more than a week to see her, and she is very amicable and listens to your concerns. She never makes me feel dumb for asking questions, and will explain a little bit of the background behind your ailment (eg: Knee pain can be caused by...). She will take as much time with you as you need. While I think Dr. Mentz is a wonderful doctor, I haven't have any experience with her partners and cannot comment on them.

Always give you great advice in any field of your needs. Great as surgent. Has very gentle touch. Listens without hurring out. I always feel taken care off. Never left his office depressed. Conveniently located all in one location I can get all my health concerns addressed by Dr. McKay and then any necessary prescriptions filled right away while I wait. I don't have to go offsite to have my prescriptions filled by another pharmacy. The pharmacy does a yearly prescription/health review and they are always available to discuss any questions I have. They are always pleasant and remember my name which makes me feel cared for. They always seek out the best options if affordability becomes an issue which being a pensioner I very much appreciate. In addition, I can't speak more highly of Dr. McKay who has been my medical practitioner for several years now. I used to live in the Somerset area when I first met her then moved across town to Bankview. Even though I have to go across town, I would never switch because I am looked after so well by her and her staff as well as Robert's pharmacy team. Anyone who can become a patient of Dr. McKay's and Robert's team is extremely lucky. I highly recommend both.

Went for knee pain, he…read morebasically convinced me to NOT ask for an MRI, several months later go in for same problem and he reads from HIS notes that I REFUSED an MRI. Claim ends up thru WCB, after literally months of back and forth trying to get them to simply give the file to WCB I find out that in my file he had written down the wrong knee having issues! Apparently they can't accept email, everything has to be by fax?! They said they never got faxes, never got letters, even after I could confirm that they did. Go get the MRI, I call them a week later to ask if they got it... they tell me no, but the doctor will call me right after they get it... the next day WCB calls they got it on the Friday before and have already had a doctor write a report. I give Excel 3 more days, I call and they lie to me saying they only got the MRI yesterday! Doctor still hasn't called. It's not just a single doctor, it seems they have their front staff lying to clients and very hard to work with. I emailed them asking if they would take a complaint before I posted this.... they haven't bother to respond.

Then I'm taken back to one of the patients' rooms and have to wait another 30 minutes before the dr. comes in. After explaining my issue and history with back problems, and how I've never had any sort of scan performed to get a deeper understanding of what might be the cause, I'm told to take muscle relaxants, watch physio videos on YouTube, and wait to see what happens. Wow, I should've been a doctor... Even after confirming my name when he walked in, the dr mistakenly pulls up another patient's information on his computer and is glancing at that throughout the visit, mentioning how I've been on another medication previously for pain (which is not correct because he's not looking at my file). All this is realized as I'm walking to the pharmacy afterwards however, as I was ultimately handed a prescription with someone else's name and insurance info on it. So, I've just been told about another patient's personal medical history with pain meds and have the ability to use his name and insurance to get a prescription... By this point the dr had already began assisting another patient, so I'm told by staff to wait AGAIN until he's finished so the prescription can be corrected!! Brilliant. Decided I had enough of my time wasted and walked out. Stunned by the mismanagement and inefficiency of this clinic.

I felt like not only did they do an amazing job with my checks (PAP, Breast Exam and IUD removal) but they do their best to impart knowledge as to the process, and what you can expect after procedures. Dr Wong, the clinic owner is incredible, I will definitely go back. I only wish more doctors took this patient-forward approach. Many times at other clinics, I've felt like a number on a production line, I felt like as soon as the doctor walks into a consult they are already trying to get rid of you. Definitely not a sterile-looking environment. Dr. Lombard is always fast and gets right to the point. I can see how people might interpret that as cold or rude, but that is exactly what I want from a doctor. The last thing I event wan to do is talk to my physician about dogs or the weekends. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC!…read more We moved from BC where we had an amazing Doctor with amazing staff and I moved here pregnant and had to find a doctor very quickly, we were told this clinic was taking patients...there is a reason for that. The staff that works here is terrible! The girls that work the front are just as important as the doctors and the one's here are incompetent, have more attitude then a 14 year old girl and the Dr. we saw, although very kind, was very inexperienced and was just happy to write a prescription instead of taking the time to find other methods or discuss the problems. I was told that I need to book a referral for my husband to get a vasectomy through my family doctor. So I called the clinic to tell them why I was booking the appointment for my husband. He had to take the day off of work to get in and after waiting 30 minutes, Dr. Hanna told him she didn't know why he booked an appointment as it wasn't covered by Alberta Health and she couldn't refer him and she didn't know why he booked an appointment. That should have been up to the front end staff to educate him or NOT book the appointment...again they are just as important. Secondly, after having my 3rd baby, I brought him in the first week and after having had an amazing doctor for my first 2 I know what the check ups should be like. Dr. Hanna was very uncomfortable with the handling of our baby and they didn't even understand their own weighing scale. She didn't even want to see my incision or do any kind of check up on me. I had issues with nursing again and the last Dr I had for 25 years had no problem taking a look at my breasts to see if there was any concerns...Dr. Hanna didn't even want to look at me. She made everything feel uncomfortable and a Dr. should never make you feel uncomfortable about your body or discussing your body. We made a family decision to find another Doctor as we want one for the long haul...I called to ask about getting my surgery record and my baby's records from 6 weeks ago and was very rudely told with the utmost attitude by the front desk that they would not give me ANY information until another Doctor requested it and I had paid $25 a person ($50 for us both). In fact she started to yell at me...have I mentioned how TERRIBLE the front end staff is?? Just read the other posts....I'm not a picky person, but I do expect professionalism and maybe a smile or two with a hello. Not only that but the atmosphere is more of a walk-in clinic and like I said the front end staff is very rude...don't ever expect to feel 'welcomed' at this clinic or leave feeling like your questions were answered..you'll leave with no answers and some kind of prescription in hand. Honestly....keep going to a walk-in for your concerns until you find another clinic..if Calgary wasn't so short on Doctors I'm sure this clinic would be shut down!
