The cashier was lovely and asked if I wanted a bag. I said yes because I had forgotten mine. She filled the one bag and then stacked the rest on the counter. She asked if I wanted a receipt and I said, " no, but I'd love another bag." She made a face and said, we are only supposed to use one. I told her that I would happily pay the bag fee for another, but she'd already closed the transaction. I told her it was fine and I'd figure it out. She looked around to make sure no one was watching and gave me another bag. If I'm getting enough stuff to fill more than one bag, I should be able to get more than one bag. I'm paying for it. My physician called in a 15-day emergency prescription because I had already run out of medication and my mail-order prescription had not yet arrived. The purpose of the emergency prescription was clear: to prevent an interruption in treatment while waiting for the medication to be delivered. What makes this even more frustrating is that my doctor's office personally contacted the pharmacy and spoke directly with the pharmacist to explain the situation and authorize the emergency prescription. Despite hearing directly from the prescribing provider and understanding that I was already out of medication, the pharmacist still refused to fill it because a mail-order prescription was already being processed. Apparently, a package somewhere in the postal system was given more weight than the judgment of my physician and the immediate needs of a patient who was already without medication. As a service-disabled veteran, I already deal with enough challenges managing my healthcare. The last thing I should have to worry about is being left without prescribed medication because of a bureaucratic decision that ignores the reality of shipping delays and the recommendations of my doctor. What should have been a simple solution became a needless barrier to care. Patients depend on pharmacists to work with their doctors to ensure continuity of treatment, not to create additional obstacles. Instead of helping resolve a problem, I was told to wait and hope the mail arrived before my medication interruption became a larger issue. I am left feeling ignored, unsupported, and honestly shocked by the lack of concern for the real-world consequences of going without prescribed medication. They show zero respect to their customers medication needs. New medications don't get counseling and their attitudes indicate they're doing you a favor spending your money with them. AVOID if you value your health or a caring pharmacist. I'd rather go through mail in. I was forced to change from Prosser pharmacy due to an insurance change and they were fantastic.
