I was just thinking about our spring Prosser visit and realized I hadn't shared anything about our Chukar Cherries stop. I love the photo opportunity with the huge sign outside and really enjoyed our shop visit. We stopped by right when they opened so we had the place to ourselves. We had a good time chatting with the host and I had a great time sampling... basically everything there was to sample. It's a bit pricey so I didn't buy a lot, but I loved the chocolate-covered cherries I selected. read more

Chocolate covered cherries from Chukar are always a great gift idea - nice packaging, gently dried Bing & Rainer cherries, and gourmet chocolate. We brought these over to our relatives and they loved it so much that we shipped them over a second time. Online ordering process was very smooth. My favorites are the Classic Milk Cherries (Bing) and Cherry Bings, because Bing is the still the original and best cherry. The Cherry Quartet is a good idea too since it contains 4 varieties of chocolate covered cherries. read more

Overall, a fun stop. The cherries and nuts are great. My only complaint is that they were running a special where if you bought $100 you got a free product. I was at $91 and the cashier alerted me to the special so I bought more to get the special. I drove the 50 mins back to Yakima only to find that the special product was not put in the bag. Sad but not worth a return drive to make it right. read more

The small gift shop has totes and shirts in addition to all of the food products made by the company. Sample-size spoons were provided for tasting salsas and dessert toppings, and individual cherries are available on request. We've been back every time we're in the area to get gifts for friends back home. read more

Who doesn't love Chukar Cherries? I've been a fan of Chukar Cherries after trying them for the first time at Pike Place Market, so it was pretty cool to learn that their headquarters is in Prosser, just down the street from where we were staying for a night. We had to check it out before heading west/home. We visited Chukar Cherries on a Monday late morning and since this is where the products are made, the place is massive. However, the store is not too big, but offers a lot of different products to shop for. The employee who was working the day we visited was super helpful. Since we had our dog with us, we sat outside where there were tables and chairs and she put in small containers different cherries for us to try even though we were outside, which was very thoughtful. We had about eight different cherries to try and learn about, which was great especially since Pike Place Market gets so busy that the staff there doesn't really have as much time to tell you about the products. But the employee here learned that we're dark chocolate fans, so only gave us a tasting of dark chocolate products and told us of the different varieties. Of the bunch, I liked the dark chocolate rainier and cabernet cherries. But we also went home with a bag of the dusted chocolate honey pecans and bing cherries. Chukar Cherries never uses preservatives and doesn't add any extra sugar. It's quality products, using local cherries that are beloved in eastern Washington and beyond. If you're in the Prosser area, you can't leave without visiting the Chukar Cherries headquarters! There will be something to sweeten your tooth. read more

Went to chakar cherries in prosser April 11. My son was SO excited to go as this would be our first time going as we are not from prosser. Was greeted by a very nice lady atbthe front desk that was helping us. Experience was good... until this lady came out from the back wearing a headset and a high ponytail. She immediately started harping on the front lady about stalking supplies. Saying she left these out for a reason. The lady at the front desk said she didn't know. I told the nasty lady that she was busy helping us. The nasty lady said we'll this was before! I straight up told her she should probably rethink being nasty towards her coworkers in front of customers. Even while the nasty lady was being mean to the kind lady at the front, the kind lady kept a smile on her face. I would have left without buying anything because of how that nasty lady was acting, but my son wanted yo go there really bad. Shame on that nasty lady for how she was acting, especially in front of customers. That speaks volumes on how she is. If she's going to do that in front of customers, imagine how she is behind closed doors. Before leaving I made sure to thank the kind lady for being so kind and for helping us. Right in front of that nasty lady from the back. read more

Do you like cherries? Do you like chocolate? What is better thank putting the two together and having chocolate dipped cherries. I am not talking about the cherry cordial type like Queen Anne ones. No, something even better. If you are in, near or passing through Prosser, WA, then you need to make time to stop at Chukar Cherries. They have a tasting room that is open daily with multiple different varieties of cherries and chocolate dipped combinations that you can try. I could've spent an hour there eating just the samples and trying out the different flavors. I ended up going with a melody of four different Chocolate dipped cherries. They have two different kinds of cherries with four different types of chocolate coating. The show room and shop is a small little area, but it is in front of the location where they actually have the warehouse that are dipping the cherries. The cherry orchard is local to the area so they do not travel very far before getting their sweet coating of chocolate. You can also order these online and have them shipped anywhere in the world. When I tell you that these are some of the best chocolate dipped cherries, I have had I am not lying to you. read more

There are so many things to like about Chukar's products, but I want to highlight their commitment to their workforce. Chukar has supported continuing education for their employees and their employees' children. This is a company with a very big heart! read more

What's Eastern Washington without Chukar Cherries? Fruitless if you ask me! Dad jokes aside, I enjoy coming here on a quarterly basis to get some of the finest chocolate covered cherries to gift and ship to friends and family. The staff are very friendly and will be inquisitive to your tastes and needs to help you make an informed purchase. The cherry blossoms are my favorite, but they have a wide variety of chocolates, wine, nuts, and jams. Their pricing structure is set where if you buy more you'll save a bit more or get a free item. If you want the most bang for your buck you can get their cheap mixed bag which houses a lot of different flavors but didn't pass the visual "quality check." I look forward to seeing what flavors they do for St Patrick's Day and such, think they'll do a green cherry style? read more

When passing through the area I had to stop at my favorite place for a sweet treat! There is nothing like a Chukar Cherry. I will never forget my first package that I purchased when on a camping trip in Mt Rainer National park. I have been hooked and have visited every location so far. I love that they use ZERO dyes in their foods. If you haven't had a chocolate covered Chukar cherry you're missing out! When visiting this location they offered us a tasting of some of their treats and we picked up some good deals. Highly recommend a visit! read more

We stopped in to Chukkar Cherries Friday 10/22/21 and they are allowing tasting now. The specialties include chocolate and strawberry coated cherries and nuts in various varieties. Once you sample them you will immediately want to take some home. My favorite was the milk chocolate honey pecans which are honey roasted pralines dipped in chocolate and coated in powder sugar. Unbelievably tasty, but so is everything else. The only downside to all this is the price. A 6.75 oz. bag of chocolates is about $13.50. The packaging is very attractive though and these are perfect gifts that as pointed out by the server can be ordered online and sent anywhere. If in Prosser, the Flagship store is a must see. read more

These folks sent me a catalog a month or two ago. I'm not sure how they got my name and address, but I love dark chocolate and cherries separately, so the combination sounded perfect for me. After a few weeks contemplation I ordered a jar of dark chocolate covered cherries and a tin of mixed dried cherries and nuts. Because I ordered a certain amount they gave me a small package of what they call cherry blossoms, probably milk chocolate mixed w/ cherries. I'm not sure. The package arrived today. I just tried a couple of the cherry blossoms, which were OK. I tried one of the dark chocolate cherries, which I liked better. I opened the nuts and cherries later. What passed for candy in my family when I was a child was a mixture of walnuts and raisins. This felt comfortable and familiar, though the basic ingredients were slightly different. Chukar cherries is a family owned farm in Washington, just the kind of business I like to support, although this will last me quite a while. read more

Sadly, I looked at their paper catalogue and really wanted to buy some of these. Their photographs looked so tasty! We've had many of their cherry based goodies over the years, but they were always purchased by our elderly relative who had them shipped here. She passed away last spring, so we thought we'd order these ourselves. What a surprise I found that their paper catalogue doesn't even list their website nor an online order page. (Who's in charge of their marketing?) I was able to search online and found that they do have a website and that they also sell through Amazon. Hooray! I have Amazon Prime and expected the free shipping. What a downer! Chukar doesn't offer with Prime! I'm expected to pay $12.95 for shipping on a measly $29.95 jar of popcorn? No way! So, I checked their online site to see if the shipping was any less. Guess what? No! Chukar will also charge the $12.95 for shipping. You'd think they could charge less fot small shipments. The result is that we will forgo bothering to order from Chukar and will buy our Christmas snacks elsewhere. There's plenty of places who offer popcorn without charging me for that price for shipping. read more

Our sales person Casondra was very helpful and kind. Everything was delicious! This will be a must stop next time we are this way.

I consider these Chukar Cherries somewhat one of Washington's best kept secrets. Before moving here, I found them in the airport on one of my visits and fell in love. They are just a high quality, fabulous tasting, chocolate covered cherry; and it takes off from there. I was finally able to walk into the store in Prosser, and I about passed out from the euphoria of being surrounded by an entire line of tasty products such as nuts, pie filling, marinade, jams, and all different flavors of chocolate covered cherries. They give samples or tastes of anything you want, so I was basically over the cherry moon. The nice thing about this location is they give you a little price break for buying multiples. It's a great way to buy local and send a Washington gift to anyone. read more

I grew up in the Yakima Valley and lived there for 30 years until moving out. I'd heard of chukar cherries and seen them in the airport, but never actually had any until last weekend when I went home to visit. Thought they would be a nice little gift to bring back to CA and give my neighbors who are checking my mail and the friends who are dog-sitting for us. Glad I went into the store instead of bought at the airport. They were $2 cheaper a bag, but also got $5 off for buying 4 and a little gift for spending $75. Cute store, super clean and friendly staff. Oh, and they're delicious. The chocolate powder sugar pecans are bomb. read more

Chocolate was good, service could of been better. We did not shop in the building but ordered online. My husband ordered chocolates two weeks in advance for Valentine's day. I did not understand their method of shipping. They use united postal for something that is edible. The package arrive at the post office and sat their for the weekend till I can get it on Monday. Nothing was damaged but the packaged was delayed. We also got packages for a few of our friends. Their package was delayed a couple days. The only problem I had was that they sent the wrong order to my sister. I called and they got it taken care off but by the time she got the right order it was already pass Valentines day. It did not seem specials anymore. The chocolate was delicious and the way they design the gift basket was nice. Not sure I would come back to them though. read more

If you're visiting Prosser, Chukar Cherries is a must visit spot. [Staff] Super friendly, helpful, attentive and giving. They offer samples on the different chocolate cherries and jams products that are sold in store. They're experienced and will help explain and identify what you may like and let you try it as well. They are also very respectful and give you personal time to look over and review, without hovering. This is great as they are there to help and are very supportive. [Products] The store is full of different types of Cherry products, from chocolate to jams/preserves, and even now, trail mix packages. Their most popular are the 6.75 oz. bags of cherries. Currently ranging from $13.50 to 14.50 per bag, with a buy 4, save $5.00. This isn't a bad deal given that these are great evening snacks (with wine pairing), or as gifts. They also have smaller size cherry packets in box size ($10.00/ea), and if you are considering a nice present, larger pre-set gift box ranging around $50 and $90. During the holidays, they have also arranged a pre-packed gift set in a basket for you and if you like what you see, these are the better valued versus buying individual pieces. I recommend Cabernet, Blossom, Raspberry, Truffles, Rainier, Hazelnut and Cocoa Pecan ones. If you're still confused, you can't go wrong w/ the Orchard Medley. If you like a spread, check out the Jubilee or Preserve, both are sweet but not to overpowering. [Parking/Location] Ample parking spots in the front with a large store emblem on the wall letting you know you made it. The Prosser location is more relaxed with all the products available. The Seattle/PikePlace location is a bit smaller (booth) and a lot more crowded as there's more foot traffic going through the Pike Marketplace. [Final Thoughts] If you're looking to support local business in the state of Washington, you can't go wrong with Chukar Cherries either for yourself or as a gift. The quality of the product does justify the price. read more

Chukkar Cherries, yes please! Whenever I'm driving through Eastern Washington I always make a stop at their store. I've never been able to pass this place up. They have other locations like the one in Pike, but this is the factory. This is where the magic begins. It's not necessarily an outlet though I'm managed to pick up some killer deals on bags of random and seconds. The selection of foods is giant. All the walls are packed with goods. So many chocolates and so many different types of cherry products. I don't think you can leave without finding something you'll like. They have a great mix of everything. Chocolates, jams, and even merch (I may or may not have bought a t-shirt to wear around town.) For some reason I keep buying their cherry decorated ceramic bowls to give as gifts... It's a good place to stop if you need to pick up a gift or ten. They have samples for you to try so don't pass up on that offer. The employees are the nicest people. Some of them have worked here for a lot of years. What does that say about the company? It's a short drive off the highway and there's plenty of parking outside. Handicap accessible also. read more

Great speciality store filled with cherry granola(fabulous), cherry jams (equally delicious), chocolate cherries and cherry based salsas, plus a few other fruit concoctions I don't remember. There are lots of samples, so come after you eat, or gorge on sweet samples, as you wish. We stocked up on gift items, and a few things for us, like the granola! A short trip down the road past Starbucks on exit 80, and the airport. It is easy to find on the right. Staff was very helpful and friendly, just what you want. And, at least in the early fall, they weren't too busy. A very nice find. read more

Chukar Cherries - Large store front just past the airport - Specialty Food Near Me - Prosser, Washington

_ A well known, trademark Washingtonian store where you can get the perfect gift for your friends and family, especially those living outside the state. When you arrive here, you might feel slightly in awe of the fact that everything in the small shop is manufactured right across the road, sustained in part by the produce grown locally. They sell chocolate covered cherries, truffle cherries, dried fruit, cherry based salsa, jam and beautifully wrapped gift baskets. There are fresh, clean sample trays out at nearly every product. The shop is very small. Because of the high quality of these products and their gifting appeal, they are of course much more expensive than getting some chocolate cherries from the supermarket, but are well worth the cost. read more

Best chocolate covered cherries I've ever tasted. Definitely a must when visiting Prosser!

Chukar Cherry Company (henceforth CCC) put Prosser on the map (for me, at least). I first sampled their chocolate-covered treats at Pike Place Market, and when I saw that my roadtrip route would take me through Yakima Valley, I knew I had to stop in Prosser. The store is small but spacious - it's got a basic square layout with shelves upon shelves of Chukar cherries (of course), nuts, chocolates, and a little shelf dedicated to other goods from local artisans (pasta, salsa, jams, etc.). Feeling indecisive about whether to get the cabernet cherries, truffle cherries, or chocolate-covered pecans? Chukar gives free samples! One of their staff walks around every 5 minutes with a new sample. If there's something that's caught your eye but you haven't sampled, they'll pop a piece right into your hand. Their generosity pays off - there wasn't one thing I tried that I didn't want to get, and I ended up walking out with 6 bags of goodies. The icing on the cake (or, the chocolate covering on the cherry ;)) - Chukar provides ice packs free of charge. They're probably well aware that most visitors hail from out of town, and it'd be a shame to have all those delectable chocolates melt in a hot car. Top notch customer service, confections, and support for local artisans - Chukar is definitely as good as it gets! read more

I am a huge fan of Chukar Cherries and stop by their stall every time I visit the Pike Place Market. These treats are available in some of the local grocery stores and online from their website. If your idea of a chocolate indulgence is a $10 jar of M+M's from Costco, you might not fully appreciate the role of Chukar Cherries in the food world. They are serious chocolatiers and sell only fresh, batch made snacks and candies produced from high quality ingredients. I attempt to limit the discretionary calories I consume and am willing to spend more for premium hand made products. The folks at Chukar have figured out how to make delicious chocolate-covered dried fruit and nut candies and are a genuine local home-spun success story. My kudos to you all!!! read more

I've been to the Chukar Cherry store a couple of times while in Prosser. Well it goes without saying that Chukar produces a mighty fine product. I mean, I love cherries. There's that window between mid June to mid July where I have to plan my life around the cherry season here in south central Washington. I mean we simply have the best cherries--no doubt. With that said, the window goes by too fast. A good way to keep the cherry high going is to get yourself some Chukar Cherry products. For this past Christmas I ordered a grip of packages from Chukar online and sent them down to family down in California. I know they'll love the chocolate and cherry goodness, and I know Chukar can always tide me over till June. read more

Good chocolates with fruit, poor customer experience. Hello, why don't you guys charge two bucks for a sampler platter? The near lack of any samples (they used to have plenty) and the fact that you must have someone dole out samples for the few things opened shows poor awareness of customer buying cycle. Two bucks for 12 pieces of your various chocolates would be a huge hit. Also, why on earth you don't want to pair with the many local wines at a side bar is also beyond me. It's crazy, you get more samples and service in Pike Market, Seattle from Chukar. read more
