That said, the vegetable section here is bigger than that at Columbia Oriental. But, I believe they probably have the same supplier as having gone to both stores in one day, they seem to have the same selection with the same freshness (this place just had more out on display with all the more space). So, depending on what you need or are looking for, this may be the better grocery store for you! They also have good prices and merchandise, IMO. Their tofu prices and options beat any of the grocery stores that I've seen, and I recently picked up some apples there- at less than half the cost of the grocery store north of them- and the apples were really fresh. Another cool thing about this place is that they're willing to special-order stuff- like if you want a case or two of some item (I drink lots of soy milk). They get things in on Friday, so that can be a busy day to shop- lots of customers. But, most of the time, I've had at most one person in front of me- and it went quickly. Don't expect a store that works like fast-fast Western culture. It's more relational. Also, some of the workers know several languages- and English isn't always their first one. So, if they haven't seen you before, they might not make the first step to talk to YOU- just like a person who learned Thai as a SECOND language might not if they were in Thailand- However, if someone there seems that way, if you smile and speak to them, I've always found them MORE than friendly, quite able to understand and communicate, and also very helpful. In fact, some of the things I've come to like the most were things that one of the staff pointed out to me, when I was buying something that was sort of similar. It's fun, sometimes, to just wander around in the store and look at stuff- at least for me. It's amazing how much of a variety they've been able to fit in AND keep nicely organized. Plus, they've done it in a lot less space than most stores/ storekeepers would need to do the same. If you use some Oriental/Asian food ingredient in any kind of quantity, need something special, OR just want a fun and different place to look around, I'd say definitely check them out.

I ask and I am told that the distributor is having trouble delivering orders. If I want one ingredient and they don't have I am told you need to buy a case lot and we'll bring it in for you. I don't need a case of a certain spice I. E. Chipotle power for instance. The coffee creamer my Dad likes Coffee Mate Original Flavor 64oz. The shelf at Yokes has every other flavor in that size, sometimes two or three rows of the same kind. I was told in order for me to get some. Would need to buy a case because our distributor doesn't carry the original flavor. That's interesting, I can find it at Safeway, Fred Meyer, and Winco. I don't want to drive all over kingdom come to find my Dads creamer. I live in West Richland and I would prefer to keep my business in West Richland.
