Safeway is the only grocery store I can get to. The Safeway in Quincy never has anything in stock I need. I haven't had the same brand twice in 6 months. I haven't had anything I like to eat in months. And it's been 3 months since they've stocked signature items. Haven't been able to substitute. After pricing everything from online grocery stores I am ordering all food and beverage online from other stores. That's a minimum of $500 a month I will be spending elsewhere. read more

This Safeway is amazing! I appreciate their contribution to our community. Safeway helped sponsor an event for my son's school and really helped make the event a success. On a personal shopping note I had a drive up a go order and they were out of the rotisserie chicken I had ordered. I called the store and they put a fresh one aside for me. When I went to pick up my order the gentleman who brought out my order let me know the chicken was almost done and when it was done he brought it out to me so I didn't have to bring my kids in the store. If you shop the deals you can really save money! Also the store is always clean. read more

Small Safeway located in Quincy. Stopped here for ice, also decided to get a bouquet of Sunflowers that were super cute. They do not have 20 lb. ice- so we had to get the biggest size they had 16 lbs. We got 10 of them. The line was only a few people long but seemed to take longer than necessary. I shopped here a few time a week but probably gunna cut back and start going to other grocery stores. Be mindful of who/how they're bagging your groceries. I went in the other day for seafoods, ribeye steak, shrimp, Fruits & vegetables. They put everything in one bag and popped a hole in my shrimp so all my groceries were swimming in shrimp juice by the time I got home... Then spoke with the manager (Megan) and she said she wouldn't be in so she'd have some other employee (Becky) handle it but when I went in she was on lunch. Safeways checker in charge resolution was to give me free shrimp ($8) and strawberries ($5). read more

Im writing this on an overall view of the staff. Monday, a staff which is Mona was grabbing carts and asking customers if they are done with theirs, so she can put them away. It is very nice of her to stay alert, but what me and mom heard is not very nice. Apparently, the reason why she is asking customers is for one so they can just take their little amount of groceries out of their cart, so she doesn't have to walk all the way to the parking lot and grab the carts herself, not very polite considering she is also a bagger on check stand. Secondly, after grabbing carts she went back inside and started helping bag groceries without sanitizing her hands. When she grabbed those carts from customers she wasn't sanitizing them either which we learn from other stores that someone do sanitize them separately even more of a reason for her to do her Covid-19 protocol of being safe which she wasn't. Use the sanitizer before touching groceries as the Pandemic is legit real. In addition to this assault she also have a very poor hygiene and poor customer service skills. She was whispering negative things to some of people she knows customer wise among her co-workers. We were going to management about it, but I don't think the management do anything about their employees because we've filed a complaint about their other employees they are still there serving deli specially the guy who chews and spit. Mona also told my mom on a short conversation recently since we buy hot deli 5 times a week that the reason why many bad employees are still working in Quincy Safeway is because the management is lazy to work harder because some duties are below their pay grade and they are UNION which we are aware what Union is. So them getting fired is close to none. The management must stay alert on how Mona is representing the customer service world. The people she is bashing among other people knows who she is talking about because we keep hearing her speak ill about these two people specifically. One company which is safeway company can tolerate her being the way she is, but we are certain that her previous JOBS before this DID NOT! The reason why is her vile toxic behavior. No other company should tolerate this conduct. A person should never discuss her personal vendetta towards customers and coworkers. They are on the clock doing what they should be doing which is working. Safeway, the part of being in customer service is to provide a comfortable shopping experience it doesn't indicate to attack and hate on paying customers. We as customer do not need to hear about her car due excessive payments, her being broke, and how she used to work at other places and ended up living for being treated poorly. No one believes that based on how she conducts herself and treats customer poorly behind their back openly on the sales floor without shame. We don't need to know about her hatred towards Noela in deli. We don't care. We want her to carry herself as if she's a person that cares about her job and not say. "They can't fire me we are Union"and laugh about it. We are disgusted as she claims that management is wrapped around her finger. And she is not going nowhere. We prefer is she changes her behavior as we all deserve to eat and have shelter. We could just careless about the drama whenever she's in that building. Thank you. read more

I visited this store tonight to grab some items on my way to the family vacation home have been coming here for 15 years. I grabbed my items and there was a full store around 6:30 PM on a Friday night only 2 check stands open the checker a middle aged male made me switch lanes because I was in the 15 item lane I only had 19 items oh well if I had not needed the groceries I would have left them and walked out I most likely will never patronize this store again. read more

05-18-2017 Sandwich, soup and deli counter is filthy. Still finding expired goods in the dairy and other areas. Lack of proper hygiene for those who have facial hair behind the food counter. Yes, I've found hair in my food. Other stores insist on hair nets for facial hair. I travel a lot and yes, I still shop at Safeway and other grocery stores outside our county. There seems to be a much higher standard applied at those locations. Quincy Safeway is by far the most run down store in the chain by my experience. Folks are still upset at the lack of service and long lines at checkout. It's not unusual to spend 15 minutes or more waiting to check out when it's busy. To end on a positive note, there are a couple of shining stars that work there. I wonder how much credit they're given? read more

I have had many good experience's with the staff. I have yet to have a bad shopping experience here. There is one time, with one employee that really sticks out. Her name was Mona, as I have said they have all be friendly and helpful, but Mona was extra cheery. She actually tried to start a conversation, and almost treated me more as a friend than a customer. I've worked customer service before, it can be very difficult to keep a smile on your face and start conversations with random people. The customer service is overall good at Safeway, but Mona did great. I just wish more cashiers were as nice. read more

The Floral dept at Safeway is waaaaaaaaay better than dealing with the people at Grays Flower Garden. Safeway is professional. Grays employees are gossipy, (particular nut job girl named Potty Mouth Pearl) and the manager is rude. Loved the service at Safeway! read more

Two things happened at this store. I went to buy marshmallows and 90% of the packages on the shelf were dated 3/10/21. When stocking shelves, does no one check the expiration dates! Safeway Deli is something else.. Says open 6am, they are not. The employees are rude... and seem to be put out to have to wait on customers. One employee when asked to make a sandwich exhaled "Jesus Christ" and was very put out to have to do so. I cancelled the order. The Deli Manager is nice enough, but get your employees to have better customer service. When they aren't out of tortia for burritos or aren't ready for business at the stated hours of operation at some point we will all just walk away and not even think of the Deli as an option for food. I appreciate the crew at this store! They always go out of their way to make my shopping experience great. The store is smaller of the chains and is often understaffed; it's Quincy -- get over it. The fact that they are there during this pandemic is commendable. Tensions are high when you deal with non mask wearing self-centered customers. They handle it well! A previous review to this facility was terribly acidic and personal. Those comments are not helpful to anyone. read more

Small town Safeway that contains all your basic needs. Items are adequately stocked for the "demand". Since it's a small town, and not many things are open during evenings, Safeway can be your last resort for night time scrounging. read more

I live in Plumas County, I have been going to Safeway for years, but there are good workers and really bad ones. The delivery guys are nice. They restock and are always polite. There is a lot of turn over there. Not the Greatest job in the world but dang you don't start out as a CEO. There are several workers there that are very nice and go out of their way to be helpful and kind. The outside of the place is horrible. It reeks of cigarettes and garbage. I know that the "mall" has other businesses, and empty stores. But why post no smoking signs? They don't Care. Property owners get together and power wash every 3mo. read more

Our Community of Christ Family Camp has been coming to Cromberg for over 25 years. Our families do their own cooking, and Safeway has been on source of food each year. We also provide a "banquet" on Wednesday night, and the meat department has tried wonderfully to meet our "challenges." This year they had our chicken order waiting for us on Tuesday. And several years ago they were able to provide us with three turkeys - in July! I have nothing but praise for the store and especially Don in the meat department. read more

The FLORISTS are phenomenal and super nice. I always go here for fresh FLOWERS and have them picked up instead of a delivery service for the area where you don't what you're getting. They always answer the phone and are professional! read more

Horrible, horrible customer service - not that the employees themselves are bad, it's just that the manager is not setting up work schedules to cover the demand and lately, the express land has not been open, so I have been waiting behind full carts of food to check out 1 or 2 items. The worst part of this store is the constant cigarette smokers hanging around outside and then you have to spend the entire time inside smelling the smoke. Not sure why these rude customers can't wait until they get home or in their car to smoke!! The store itself has a very poor produce section. I'd rather ask for the produce and have it stay in the refrigeration area than see a bunch of rotting wasted produce. Their employees are also not knowledgeable about produce. I have been asked numerous times what it is that I am purchasing. They mostly sell crap no one should be consuming. They need to class up. The co-op should expand and take Safeway over. read more

One star for the organic produce section. Other than that, the store is filled with non-GMO, inorganic, partially hydrogenated, corn syrup crap. They really need to carry more organic options because the local coop is small and can only carry so much. All they have for ice cream is Ben & Jerry's. The rest is overpriced white trash ice cream. I've seen better quality ice cream and ice cream bars that are cheaper at Whole Foods. Safeway needs to visit the freezer section in Whole Foods and make theirs look the same.!! read more
