Good jerky and ice cream. The ice cream portions are very small, not even a full scoop, good flavor though. The service was good. Nice grass area outside, they have some drinks alcohol and non alcoholic. Nice stop if you are in the area. read more

The first time I tried it, it was a little off. It was chewy, hard, and a little tangy, but after a while, it changed the way I saw beef jerky. I stopped by here on my vacation and decided to try their original jerky. At first, I wasn't sure if it was my thing--hard, tangy, and a little off. But I kept having it throughout the vacation and realized I had grown a small addiction to the savory jerky. This jerky is THE BEST jerky you will ever have. The service is amazing, the owner is nice, and overall it was the best experience I've ever had with beef jerky. I don't think I will ever go back to Jack Link's after this delectable, amazing jerky. Thank you, Riley's Jerky. Don't change a thing. read more

Received some of their jerky as a gift. Both the sweet and spicy label as well as the peppered label are quite tasty. The one thing I noticed is this jerky is a little on the tough side/somewhat hard to bite through. I have not seen it for sale in the Reno NV area but I have seen it available in gas stations and grocery stores in Northern California in which I noticed they have multiple flavors to choose from. read more

Didn't know how much better legit jerky was until I stopped in during a roadtrip. The owner was friendly and informative and there's a neat map you can use to pin where you're traveling from. I'm now spoiled because every cheap mass produced jerky tastes like soft overly sweet junk. Without a doubt will be ordering some for delivery soon. read more

We have been ordering from Riley's for years. We visited the original location a year before the fire. We just visited the new location and.. Wow!! It's great!! The store and the patio are so nice. Cooper was amazing. What a great young man to welcome visitors. We walked away with 4 pounds of jerky and 2 ice cream cones. Highly recommend !! read more

Totally overrated! Stopped at Safeway in Susanville to grab some snacks for the 2-1/2 hour drive to Mount Shasta. Very disappointed, super dry, tasteless. And at 10. Plus dollars for a tiny 2 oz bag! Wouldn't waste my money again! read more

First and foremost, the jerky is amazing! I have tried four different ones and they were all great! Second, what great folks! Went in to purchase some jerky and got a facility tour. A family business that aims to please! Try it!! read more

This is the BEST Jerry for hundreds of miles. We have been gifting this Jerry (all flavors) for over 2 decades.

If you are reading this review, thinking to yourself "these people must've all gotten soft jerky". No. I hope it comforts you to know, Riley's jerky is always on the tougher side. It's this specific style of Jerky, and they make it a little tougher on purpose. This is a Northern California staple. I'd venture to say, probably the best beef jerky i'll ever have. As a country raised individual, who also likes to eat healthy...this is a rare snack that suits both preferences. And I don't mean rare in terms of cooking temperature. (Sorry about that, I'll tone it down.) I digress. I guess what I mean to say is this....Yes, it's supposed to be a little tough. Incredible flavor, healthy and not pumped full of too much in the way of fake and funky fluffed-up BS you can't pronounce. This stuff tastes like it truly came from great beef. P.S- I do not work for this company and unfortunately after years of eating this beef jerky, since I was a child, I have never visited the location. My hometown gas station just sold this stuff, and today I just felt so grateful for it...I decided to look them up on yelp! read more

Definitely cowboy jerky. Super addicting. It seems to me that if you get it directly from Riley's jerky, it's a lot more fresher/ tender to chew on, and also you can get a 1 pound big bag that you wouldn't be able to get at a grocery store. Definitely highly addicting though. Definitely might go to jerky. . read more

Family owned and operated. They will go above and beyond for customers, employees and the community. Their jerky is always amazing and people will travel from all over just to get some of this amazing jerky. I really love the teriyaki and the peppered but you can't go wrong with the original either! read more

If you want to break a tooth, eat this jerky.

Just went to the grand opening and had tons of fun. The jerkey is very good. I love that they will be employing lots of people.

Hands down the best beef jerky I've ever had the honor of tasting. It is kind of rock hard , but the beauty is once you place a piece in your mouth - you let your saliva break it down, and it turns into a buttery piece of steak. Peppered is my go to Just ordered some more last night and can't wait till it arrives :) read more

I've been a customer for decades (When I don't make my own) and his place is amazing, it has real jerky and it is delicious! It's salty it's smokey It pairs great on a hot day with a cold drink. If you like soft processed meats this stuff isn't for you, I heard some people complaining the jerky was dry, I don't think they understand what real jerky is supposed to be. As a jerky connoisseur I have to say, outstanding job guys, well done! I was wrong they did put out crap a long time ago and did never recovered, I'm not sure what happened? read more

First found this amazing Jerky at the kern river grocery store! So amazing!! Just ordered more online!!

Found this at a gas station after going through Tidus Canyon (from Death Valley) on a roadtrip. As a jerky aficionado, I fell in love and was disappointed I couldn't find it elsewhere... until I found it online! The jerky isn't that soft crap you buy at the grocery store. This is man jerky. And I love it. It seems like its flavored well before it's jerkied (or whatever the terminology is) instead of just slapping some pepper on afterwards. Such juicy great flavors! I ordered the sampler pack of all the flavors. Pepper is still my favorite and Hawaiian was pretty neat to try. All of them are good, though! read more

Best jerkey ever! I've been a fan since they first opened and highly recommend it! Haven't tried one of their flavors I do not like. True old west style. Throw it in the backpack or glovebox and get out exploring. Maybe take a drive by and pick up some from the source! You will not be disappointed! read more

Awesome jerky - the peppered kind is JUST like how my Dad used to make it so it brings back all sorts of good memories. Britt who works there is great - calls you back quickly and I could not believe how fast I got the jerky this last order. Wow. read more

Still a great product and even better, they are very affordable. Finally, they have an online site so ordering is even easier than before: http://www.rileysjerky.com/ Something else, their jerky goes good with red wine. I was out wine tasting and had a bag of their original flavor with me. I took it in with me while I was tasting and even the staff at each winery thought it went together too. So Britt, if you notice a bunch of wineries ordering your jerky, you're welcome. read more

As a kid, my grandpa used to make beef jerky each year. They were cattle ranchers in Chico, CA. Riley's beef jerky is the closest I've ever had to that home-made jerky. The Black Pepper jerky is amazing-- as are the others. If you want some real, down-home jerky, this is the stuff. Grassfed cattle and a small, regional jerky-maker. You cannot beat this jerky. Riley's isn't to my knowledge open to the public. If you want it, any regional convenience or grocery store in the Plumas County area has it. You can also contact them and order directly, which we do for our office stash. http://rileysjerky.com/ read more

Best jerky around. I've been ordering from Riley's for years and the speed of their S/H is amazing. If I have a craving for jerky I can always call Britt and have a box of jerky on my doorstep the NEXT day. Used to stop by the factory in Greenville and get the "jerky dust". Quality jerky, and service. read more

Riley's Jerky is definitely a Northern California "thing" you find at convenience stores and gas stations all up and down the I-5 corridor. I like to stop at a gas station in Yreka and pick up a few bags for my trek up north. It's one of the hardest, toughest nuggets of marinated beef I've found, but full of flavor and good to just suck on while it softens up. I tend to think this jerky would be awesome in soup. The Jalapeno is my favorite. Best Beef Jerky is a leading publication on meat snacks, and have rated all of their flavors... http://www.bestbeefjerky.org/search/label/Rileys-Jerky read more

The best and inexpensive, without a doubt! I really like the peppered but I have tried all of them and they are all delicious.

I lived 20 miles from the little store that makes and sells Riley's jerky for 30 years and it is the only kind I ever ate until I came to Sacramento. I have to say nothing in this region compares to Riley's. I am a huge fan of the teriyaki and peppered jerky. You can order from their website or go to the little store in Greenville CA. And get a bag of the bits and pieces for much less money. Big plus you get to meet the owner :-). Really a cool guy! read more

I spent over $30 buying 3 different kinds of this jerky as a present for my boyfriend. I found this place based on a review from a personal friend who orders from here & said it was one of the best. I was extremely disappointed! The jerky was so hard I was afraid I was going to break a tooth! What is worse is I e-mailed the company about the inedible jerky & NEVER received a response! Money down the drain & bad customer service. Wont be ordering from here again. read more

The last 7 bags of jerky have been so dry. More like charred and crumbly. Horrible. Was good jerky until they started over cooking it.

Exceptional Customer Service. Riley's Jerky went above and beyond with our order. My husband has ordered from Riley's for 20 years, they have never disappointed. Excellent Jerky! read more

I have been a customer for several years, and i think this is the best jerky i have ever bought,,saying that i have bought 4 lbs of jerky in the last two months and two bags were so dry that when trying to eat the jerky it just crumbles, after i finish these last two bags i am not sure will give it another try,i have never had any that was this dry in the past.i hope i dont get any more this dry either read more

This is hands down the best jerky. No preservatives and no added sugar (original at least). The texture is perfect and the flavor is so delicious. I go out of my way to order this for my whole household. I love having it on hand for guests that come over. I make sure to order a bag before we go on trips and I've exchange emails with the owner, she's so pleasant to talk to. I couldn't be happier that I found this company. Thank you!!! read more

The first time I tried Riley's was 12 years ago when I was in high school in Redding California. It immediately became my favorite, but being a high school student it's cost was prohibitive for me at the time. Fast forward 12 years. On a camping trip with my mother, her boyfriend, my wife and I, I stopped at a gas station just west of Reno where my mom lives. Hallelujah junction. They had 1 lb bags of Riley's!!!! I was blown away. I bought 1 that day as well as this 5 pack "sampler" with all the flavors (at the time). Ever since when I drive through I always stop and get some Riley's but when I'm home in the bay, I'm ordering the strips online. The peppered is IMO the best jerky on this planet!!!! TL;DR, I've been eating Riley's since high school. It's great! read more

Absolutely the best jerky money can buy. Full slices of meat with actually grain to rip apart, expertly seasoned and dried. Perfect everytime. Black pepper, cajun, and teriyaki are my favorites but I've tried all of them and they're all superb. Loyal customer for life. read more
