Amazing pastries, cookies, fudge, breakfast burritos, sandwiches and more! The very best customer service!! You can't miss THIS PLACE when you go to Quincy! read more

Worst bakery ever! Found a hair in my muffin and coffee was over brewed. I'll be going to Starbucks in Chester from now on. At least they are good on coffee and bake goods read more

Lots of cool stuff and friendly service. Most pastries and baked goods are only mildly sweet, very French!

This is a small town "candy" shop but it's WAY MORE. Just stop in and check it out. Homemade fudge is excellent. They also make a few chocolates. Check out pictures to understand why it's more than a candy shop! It's really a gift and goodie shop that sells candy, ice cream and coffee along with snacks. The chocolate-lover in your life will not be pleased if they they learn you were near here and didn't get 'something'. Mine is on a diet so I just got a few ounces of their chocolate cover espresso beans she can savor. Best bear claw in NorCal. Come before 10 or they be sold out! Deli level homemade sandwiches, burritos and a full assortment of fresh baked items. Yum! read more

What a fantastic place. The service and staff here are wonderful. Not to mention that the coffee is great, specially when drank with a fresh backed berry pastry. This place is a gem in this small town. If you are in Quincy and need something sweet and delicious, please stop here. read more

CLOSED ON MONDAYS!!!! We came back to visit Quincy for the first time in decades. I knew Amy when she first opened her candy store (everybody knows everybody in Quincy). The chocolates are exceptional and we had planned to buy out the store. We were sooo disappointed. read more

Carey's is Gods gift to this Earth. Listen, I'm a city girl and only drank Starbucks my whole life. Now, when I move back to San Diego I'm going to be crying because whose going to make my hazelnut mocha with just the perfect amount of chocolate ganache? Whose going to serve the most delicious pastries known to man and the best homemade fudge you can find? Oh don't get me started on their candy boxes and their savory foods. read more

The staff here are friendly people. The pastries are amazing. Love the small town atmosphere, it is very comforting and cozy.

Whether you stop in for a hot drink, a baked good, a sweet snack, or a unique gift, this is the place to go. I can't resist the muffins when I see them in the display case and I usually find something else to pick up while I'm in there. Love this place and have for many years read more

Going for a hike in one of the many hills surrounding the Quincy area, and need something to "help you out", but don't want to rely on gas station coffee and its associated highly-processed sweets? Let me recommend to you Carey Candy, where one can get any variety of caffeinated products, including but not limited to, coffee, hot chocolate, and standard chocolate. And get a muffin that doesn't taste like it was made across the Pacific Ocean three years ago. I did exactly that when I went for a hike in the South Fork area prior to attending the High Sierra Music Festival. Muffin lasted me about 135 seconds (I was hungry), but I was able to nurse the hot chocolate for two hours as I went up up up up in the early morning cool. Staff was very friendly, and had wit too. I noted that one of the baristas had Dodgers gear on, and upon reminding her that LA hasn't won a World Series since 1988 she acknowledged my Giants backpack without going crazy on me. The store also has the usual assortment of witty and pseudo-witty merchandise with a variety of swear words associated. If I lived in Quincy or its environs I'd certainly be back. I'm not, but if you are in the area or simply passing through, you need to stop here. read more

Popped in for an ice tea and came home with dinner for the family. I love living the small town mountain life but sometimes I just want good take out! With few to go dining choices that hold for my 30 minute commute home, getting a night off from cooking is rare. However I spotted tri tip with chimichurri , roasted potatoes and a little bit of asparagus, for 9 bucks each, hook me up! Everyone enjoyed it and we are steak snobs. Thanks for giving this mama a night off! read more

It's a amazing coffee and kind workers with cute gifts to give to friends and family.

Carey Candy has the best fudge, it's dangerous! Also, loads of yummy baked goods, excellent coffee, gifts, and the fact that they are open 7 days a week are all good reasons to stop in for a treat. They open early enough to grab a coffee and goodie to hit the road or start work early. We always recommend this establishment to our guests. I have read another review about quiche, and I have had it and found it to be excellent! I really do love everything they make. read more

This place can be chill in the morning. The drinks are good the pastries are kinda burnt like the croissants, but Im picky.

Love the Caramel Sea Salt Flat, it's dark chocolate with the perfect amount of high quality salt. I live in Santa Rosa and my friends Kathy & Robert turned me on to you, it's often served at their house after dinner. I tried to order off web but the server could not be found. Anyway I enjoy your product and thank you for taking such care in creating these delights. read more

I stopped here today on my way back from Blairsden. It's a clean friendly place. It has a Good selection of candy at a fair price. There is a variety of things to choose from such as cake, eclairs, quiche, and other things. I purchased a spinach quiche for $8.00 to take home for dinner. This is where my review goes bad. It was disgusting. The potato on the bottom was raw. There was clumps of what I think was cheese that gave it a very bad texture. And, finally the egg tasted so strong that it was like eating under cooked yokes. I tried everything to eat it. Heated up, ketchup, more cheese. The dog wouldn't even eat it. So, into the trash it went! So, eat candy! And enjoy! read more

Presentation: Kind of a plain storefront on the outside, but, wow! Is this a Candy Store or what! Representation: Pleasant and helpful counter crew. Selection: Like I said... Wow! Handmade candies of all sorts... and Jelly Bellys! Their Yelp description is on the money! Price: Seems pretty reasonable to me for getting your sugar overload. Pros: Sweet! :-) Cons: Should be on the MAIN main drag, and have a bragging exterior! read more

This is a fantastic spot, I visit every time I am in Quincy. The fudge and chocolates are really so tasty and the freshly made pastries and sandwiches are so far beyond what I would ever imagine finding in this quaint town. I can't recommend Carey Candy Company enough! Their products are both unique and delicious and they will stand behind anything they sell. If you're not happy with it, which is highly unlikely, they will make it right. I've been a customer for years, and even though I've moved out of the area, I still stop at Carey Candy Company every time I'm in Quincy to buy my employees special, tasty gifts. The owner, Amy Carey is helpful, creative and goes out of her way. Try them out - you will not be disappointed! read more

This business started out long ago when I was in high school in Quincy. Although I don't live there now, I am lucky my mom occasionally sends the caramel sea salt chocolate flats!! It is chocolatey deliciousness. The current location is super cozy and warm and is a great place to meet a friend in a cold winter day. I stopped here several times on my last visit to Quincy. Next time I will try some food! Way to go Amy! read more

Love the food! Everything is so fresh and tasty!!! Get the mint chip explosion! Off the charts

Unfortunately, I haven't been into what must be an amazing shop.... But, I was lucky enough to be the recipient of a gorgeous gift basket filled with all sorts of goodies. I nibbled on some gummy candies, jordan almonds, a delicious box of chocolates and some yummy caramel corn. Can't wait to enjoy my fancy napkins, soaps...OMG. There's a bunch of super cute things inside. What a great gift, can't wait to see the shop! read more

Came up for the FRC graduation and stopped in this morning at 0700 for a coffee and muffin. I'm telling you it was the best Latte I have ever had! Thank you for a great start to our morning!! read more

The candy here is awesome! My only complaint is that I did not buy more and I don't live in the area. I got a few different things including the coffee cows (YUM), the caramels with marshmallows, and bridge mix. My mom said the bridge mix was some of the best she has had. read more

I absolutely love this shop - and I think that the Carey's like me coming in for just the amount of money I spend. :-) Great candy (very high quality), great gift ideas (I've bought my share), and they now do shaved ice (the real deal) that is excellent. Amy always makes sure that gifts are wrapped nicely and placed into a gift bag - she goes above and beyond. This is a very nice shop with huge variety - give it a try! read more

Best sweet find in the Sierras! Delightful selection of candy and chocolate. Pretty packaging with different colored ribbons makes it feel like a very special treat. Bakery, incredibly good!
