Ok I'm bout to vent. I'll start off by saying that I come here a lot and "ALMOST" everyone here works their butts off. Most of them are helpful, friendly, very good at their jobs. So I'm not knocking them. There are a few people that have some issues and come to think of it, I haven't seen them lately so maybe they are no longer there. Sometimes the Starbuck's staff is not so great though. Chatting with off duty co-workers instead of helping the 23950894548975 people in line, cursing while chatting, being sloppy with drinks because they are too busy chatting... that sort of irritating crappy thing.
Ok, here's my other gripes:
Warning: DO NOT. I repeat, DO NOT EVER use the bathrooms. They are absolutely hideous. ALWAYS.
The deli. There's a huge chance you'll be standing in line for an astronomical amount of time to order. They need a new system, the way they run that whole section is just not working. At all. And their options are not great either. Other Safeways have much better options to chose from.
The lines at the checkout stands during their 'busy times': Bring a book with you so you can read it. Actually... bring two books. Make sure they are both over 1,000 pages each. You will have time to read them both. The lines go all the way down the aisles, so just head to the back of the store when you are ready to check out.
All the locked up items!!!!!!!!! WTF. If you want some wine, you'll have to go search the aisles for a worker and ask them to go unlock the case most all of the alcohol is in now so you can get your bottle. There's no button to push for service. Even if you are broke as hell and want a cheap ass bottle of wine, you'll need to walk up and down the aisles searching and searching for a worker. What adds to the stupidity of this is that they still stack tons of wine up on the end caps, not locked up. Some of those wines are more costly than the ones locked up!!! No logic there at all. Just pure dumbness. Need toothpaste? Some feminine products? Get to searching for a worker for that too... these are now locked up as well. Hopefully you don't have some private female issue going on at the time and end up finally finding a worker that happens to be a male. He'll now know all your business. So yeah...
I've seen numerous people walk out with packs of meat, diapers, alcohol (before they locked it all up), etc. Just stroll on out. They look suspicious as hell. I can see it. Other shoppers can see it. I guess security can't see it. Maybe get more security or something to actually watch for this, and then maybe EVERYTHING won't have to be locked up.
This store overall is annoying and you can't really run in to grab something real quick. It's going to take a while. And don't think you can get a coffee from Starbuck's to take with you on your shopping trek to ease your annoyance, that will likely be your longest line-waiting time. You'll be stuck near the soups, entrance/exit doors and the usually-broken-Red Box machines while people try to smoosh past you while you wait. Ugh. read more
