I love Foodsco! Unbeatable prices, fresh produce and more. This store is located in the Atlantic Plaza shopping center with the cross street being Harbor Road/Railroad Ave. The plaza has ample parking and plenty of shopping carts to go around. I saw that they had Hennessey on sale. So, you already know I had to get a bottle. This store has been around for years. When you live in Pittsburg you have limited options to get groceries. Foodsco is conveniently located midtown. They send out weekly ads and offer low prices. The only thing I dislike is that the variety is limited. I would much rather have lower prices then a huge variety and I am fine with that. In addition to groceries you can get other times. They have household goods, toiletries, etc. Let's not neglect the hot foods area. Fresh rotisserie chickens ready to eat. Potato wedges, fried chicken, wings and more! Yum. Ridulously poor service on 7/15/25. Stood in line 8 min behind 1 person. A random comes running saying she was in line before me. Then another random walks up to the cashier and gets rung up. Then she serves the sole person who was before me. During this time, the manager comes to my line and gets several people in the back of the line to go to his new register. It takes about 10-15 min for me to finally ring up milk, butter, ice cream, and broccoli. And no, they did not have their express line open. This was just rude as hell. I Then go to customer service and stand there 3 min. Ignored, I finally speak to a cashier (I had just been told by security this man who grabbed others from the line BEHIND ME was the manager) and ask for thr General Managers namr and contact. This manager, tells me 1 minute. He rings up a lady and takes the next, then the next. I told him, this is ridiculous. Today, I call their # 925-473-2130 & after 20 rings it hangs up. Just poss poor. I wasn't even allowed to make a complaint or speak to customer service. Simply help those who are IN LINE 1st and answer simple customer service questions. Ignoring people and letting them wait 15 min while you help people in line for 1-5 min is disrespectful and unprofessional. Just say you only like certain customers if thats what it is. I went in to buy a few things and as I'm walking to the door to leave, one of the cashiers stops me and accuses me of stealing, I checked out in the lane directly next to hers. I keep telling her I just came from the last checkout line and she insists that I came from the entrance door! Shoppers in the aisles with no masks being passed by workers ... this is NOT a suggestive order for all us in business - this is mandatory. If businesses aren't held accountable for non-compliance then what's the point. It's not even that the shoppers didn't have masks (which is still not okay) but that they removed them and chose to not comply I'm on the frontlines six days a week - seven if I count the shopping I do for families that shouldn't. Masks make the job that my staff and I do very uncomfortable but they comply and so do our customers because we don't allow that they don't. This place here is terrible, they sell expire items. I tired to get a refund and i went and waited at the customer service area just to get told to get in line. Long lines for no reason , what the point to have area for customer service just to get told " I can't help you you need to get in line ! They have good expiration dates on food, but the customers service is horrible. The ladies that work there after 5;00 are horrible, I walked in the store to buy a bunch of chips and 8 cola boxes I paid for them and made my way out. I then loaded them in my car and realized I needed more cola. I went back in the store and me and the ladies were arguing because they said I couldn't come back to the store again the said 1 customer a day. This store is also horrible because they have no background music. I do not recommend going here. These people are such Karen's!!! read more

So there is always plenty of parking . It's easy to get in and out. There has always been stocked carts every time I have gone. They have the weekly adds as soon as you walk in. They have a coin star and red box. The produce is ok not the best but not extremely horrible like some people's reviews. It's pretty big and I think of some things they have the best price. The metas are ok not the best or worse in the area. The bread is also ok. The cheese is ok but I would pass on the Mexican cheese I've seen it fresher and cheaper elsewhere. I figured out the many times I've come here, that it's about time I did a review. So finally here comes that review of "Foods" as it's listed here on Yelp. So if you're in the Pittsburg area and try and find this place to check in, remember it's not listed as "Foods Co" :D now here goes my review. Foods Co Pittsburg, this place has had its ups and downs throughout the years, but its still here and standing strong though all the robbery attempts, remodels and thefts which have made the prices less..competitive. And has me counting this place a hit or miss. Foods Co use to be a franchise of the Save Mart Corporation before selling this franchise to Krogers. If you're from the midwest through east coast, you should know what a Krogers is, if not....you can Google it later on :) but that is a different topic, we're talking about my experience here right? So im going to get back on topic....hummm.. Back to me calling this place "A hit or miss" as you can see in some of the other reviews and I will join that bandwagon. The produce here is pretty great, I think it's a better quality and better value than you would get from the major competitors "Foods" has to deal with and those places are WinCo, Food Source and Food Maxx respectively. Myself having worked produce for two of these competitive locations, I know first hand about the quality they have here for the produce. They deal with more independent growers and such as compared to most. I think this factor alone puts there produce department in a league of their own, so bravo to them for that. I rarely buy produce from here that goes bad quickly. So the produce being a hit, the prices of the general merchandise is a miss. Like I listed earlier some of the going ons thats made the prices rise, it's in turn made stores like Winco and Food Source really gun for them them when it comes to lower prices. Some items here I can't possibly see myself paying for when I know just up the road I can get it for a few cents to a few bucks cheaper. That's why a major part of my grocery shopping isn't really done here, that's where Winco usually comes in for me. Another hit is the prices on Gatorades, Powerades, Monsters and Rockstars and other variants of energy drinks and electolyte infused drinks. Working overnights in a mostly demanding retail working environment..I don't mind paying .88 - $1.00 for something that's going to give me a boost at an really affordable price. Another miss here is the service, like, I rarely see the staff smile or anything, could this job be that miserable, or are the staff just made of of angry people? IDK, non the less it sucks to not have good service after you've spent money on something that helps a person have job security. Due too theft, this location doesn't carry anything for beer that isn't in a 6 - 32 pack. So no 40oz here for all the homie g's and thugs like me out there, you would have to go elsewhere for your brown bag pourch sitting, hanging with the homeboys thugthizzle. Capche! But the liquor and spirts here are pretty decently priced, to be honest, the most shopped area in this store for me. Outside of the hot foods section, I love the crispy chicken strips here. In conclusion, come here early, especially around the first of the month. Compare prices before you do a major part of your shopping here, I know for a fact you'll save some dough. I wish I could give them zero stars. The manager decided to close the store early because they were ready to get home after a lot of people drove from far away to go to the last store open today. They turned away so much money because they're lazy and won't do their job. How you closing the store before the posted time? Ridiculous. And because of it, one of your employees was verbally abused by so many customers because y'all are doing wrong by people. I feel bad for him. I like that this store is affordable and close to home. Its easy to navigate and I will shop here for small items. I wouldnt recommend shopping for certain produce here. However, an employee named Kathleen is super helpful, friendly, and always smiling. It brings a smile to my face when I see her rolling in on an electronic cart. I would give this place ZERO stars if i could. My grandma who doesn't speak English went into Foods co in pittsburg and gave $40 and was returned only $2 for groceries that was $27. She came home and the reciept was half printed and didnt show the prices. We went back into Foods Co to the cashier who checked her out and she was giving attitude and we spoke to a manager who was also being rude. First of all, I don't normally give bad reviews unless it is absolutely warranted but this was such a bad experience I have to! I went into this establishment yesterday morning to buy a few items because it was convenient. I am not a fan because their lines are usually too long and their produce is not my favorite! 8/15/2018 approximately 10:00 AM, store very crowded, I almost got hit with a cart at least 2 times by staff! Consumers in this store are also very rude, blocking aisles with baskets and having socials in the aisles. Once in line after waiting at least 10 minutes... the clerk ask if I wanted a bag and I did initially said no but changed my mind once my transaction was complete. I was using EBT so I didn't think it would be a problem because they're free. The clerk, an African American girl with a few facial and lip piercings lit into me like I stole something! Her response was "I asked you if you wanted bags and you said no" in a very condescending and sarcastic manner! Very Disrespectful! Excuse me... I changed my mind. "You should've said you wanted bags in the first place"! My response was I'm sorry as she proceeded to THROW the bags at me! I am a senior citizen and I can't ever remember a time I was treated this way! I reported this to a manager but I can't get my head around why an employee thinks they can treat customers in this manner! I doubt I will be visiting this location anytime in the near future. This place is le ghetto. Don't be fooled by their low prices, once you walk in the store it's easy to see why. This provider cuts corners just about every where. Most of their produce is all smashed up and just about everything on the shelf is cutting it close to its sell by date. I've been going to Foodsco for about five years now since I've moved here to Pittsburg. It's not the nicest inside but the low prices make up for it. Lately the lines have been too long and I've had to put my items back and leave. It's really unfortunate because they have pretty good deals and prices. You can also open an account online at foodsco.com or download the app and add coupons. They have tons of coupons for just about everything- food, liquor, toothpaste, shampoo and other hygiene products. I don't think many other supermarkets do this besides Safeway and Lucky's so that earns them brownie points. They do take credit cards here and the reason I say this is because Winco is debit, check, ebt, wic only. They have a pretty decent selection of produce and meats. I do notice that sometimes the salad kits that I like to buy aren't fresh but that could just be the case with those kits?? They have packaged spinach, kale, and romaine and those look fresh. The fruit and veggies are a hit or miss; I left the other day without my nectarines because they looked bad. Not much to choose from when it comes to beer, but plenty of liquor options! Overall, they have a good selection of goods but there are some things you may be looking for that you won't find here. Everyone is pretty nice and no complaints other than the long lines. read more

Ok ok, now i cant say this is the worst place ive been in. Alot of their items are cheap and yes you can make your $50 well worth. I have been disappointed with their vegetables and fruits so i chose not to buy it from here. Their carts definitely need to be changed, its old, rusty and dirty. I've been coming to the Pittsburg Foods Co for years and can honestly say the customer service has went down the toilet. There are always new employees and the tenure employees seemed to be unhappy. Today I was pleasantly surprised when the young man at the register actually greeted me with a smile. Kudos to him. I was in the store yesterday and the girl at the register never acknowledged me just grabbed my two items scanned them and waited for me to see how I was going to pay once I pulled my debit card she touched the register then began texting on her cell phone. Still no words never exchanged. I purposely did not say hello or anything to see if she would. She never gave me the amount of my items she never asked if I needed a bag!!! This is my biggest complaint!!! The customer service sucks. I have had several of these girls yelling over to others talking non related work conversations and or texting on cell phones while never acknowledging their customer in front of them. It really sucks that your in customer service but don't provide it!! Not sure how interviews go but I can't imagine you hiring people who said they don't like dealing with people. Unfortunately they all fooled you!! Your losing good customers because of your lack of hiring the right people, providing observations on their behavior and giving on the spot feedback!!! read more
