I will be filing a complaint with the California State Board of Pharmacy over the conduct of and my treatment by the pharmacist on duty 11/28/23 at approximately 7:30pm. She was attempting to withhold a post-surgery prescription that came straight from the surgery department that afternoon unless I described the procedure... Not to her, she wouldn't speak to me directly, but wanted it relayed through the cashier who looked either still in or just recently out of high school. When she finally did speak with me, now with 2 employees and others in line directly in earshot, she interrupted my answer to her question before I could finish to inform me that they don't prescribe these meds for that. Here I lost my temper and cursed, I should not have, I own that and apologize. That does not excuse her making me publicly detail my confidential medical history while they compare my experiences to their own. I can only conclude that she was doing this as some sort of power trip or assuming I am a drug addict based only on a glance as I have only ever been to this pharmacy once before, and never will again. I don't believe it is acceptable conduct for a pharmacist to label any customer with a prescription directly from a hospital surgery department as a junkie because they are wearing a hoodie in winter. She refused to give her name and only begrudgingly allowed my post-op prescription to be dispensed once I had started asking for her name to file a complaint (or maybe she saw I still had my hospital bands on?). I was only able to obtain her first name "Rhoda" by speaking with the store manager, they were unable to provide more information as the pharmacy is separate from the actual Safeway but I will be speaking with the Store Director tomorrow as there must be some avenue for a customer to obtain the necessary information. tl/dr: If you don't want to have to relate your HIPAA protected personal medical history to everyone in earshot through a cashier that looks like they are still in high school because the pharmacist Rhoda will not leave their chair and for some reason requires that to dispense medication prescribed from a surgeon at a local hospital, then don't go here. read more

Again again again, the pharmacy online system fails. Via website, via phone: "we are down" "we are unable" "contact failed" even with confirmed good login, password credentials, and internet speed. Forget it: you'll have to use a standard phone call. read more

Recently I was told by the pharmacist that unless I got all of my prescriptions filled through them, they would not fill my prescription which cannot be filled by CVS. I said "so you are forcing me to do business with you?" He rudely replied, as he walked away, "it's company policy, not my policy." I will not have any prescriptions filled there and I hope others will join me in my fight against big business not supporting smaller businesses. read more

I have always found a line at Safeway Pharmacy, usually a very long line. Only one counter person to attend to this line. Pharmacy closes for an hour at lunch leaving the pharmacy unattainable during that time, rather than staggering lunches in order to provide service continuously during the hours that they are 'open'. read more

This Safeway's pharmacy is SUPER slow. Prepare to wait in line a VERY long time. However, the staff is friendly and my prescription is always correct. But the wait in line is excruciating. read more

they don't have the foggiest idea how to bill military insurance! The website to schedule appointments has been turned off because it says they don't have the COVID shot when they do. I had two vaccines last week and they could bill then , but allowed me to make an appointment 1/2 hour before the person who gives shots even comes in. I felt sorry for the people who waited almost 2 hours to get their vaccines. The employees didn't bother telling them to come back a little later, just told them to have a seat. This was my first visit to Safeway Pharmacy. I went to pick up a prescription for my uncle. When I arrived on a Sunday afternoon around 2:15p there was no line. I asked for the prescription at the window and was told it wasn't ready. The pharmacist said, "Just stay right here, it will be ready in less than 2 minutes." And it was! While waiting the friendly person behind the counter asked how my uncle was doing and was very personable. Great service with a personal touch! If you encounter lines and can plan your prescription pick ups, try Sunday afternoon. It worked for me! read more

I switched from Lakeport Safeway Pharmacy to Ukiah Safeway Pharmacy. I live in Lucerne, Lake County but work in Ukiah. Thru my insurance Safeway is where I can fill my prescriptions. The Safewaycpharmacy in Lakeport is horrible at service. I have to admit the new lady working at the counter is actually very pleasant compared to the ones that have waited on me in the past. I went in yesterday to pick up my prescription. She tells me it will be 30 minutes, okay no problem. 20 minutes later I get a call that they're actually out of the antibiotic drops for my ear. I'm told they will be in on the delivery in the a.m. next day. I wait until 12 and drive into Lakeport just to be told they are still not ready. You call and no one ever answers the phone so you drive there. Gas at $5 and up a gallon gets ridiculous. Everything I have been there in the past same problems over and over again. Reason I switched to Ukiah but I was off yesterday and today and didn't want to have to drive 90 minute round trip to Ukiah so figured okay let's try this again and again same crap! The line you wait in there almost always is from the back of the store to the checkouts. What gives here? Safeway Pharmacy in Ukiah is completely different all the way around including they even answer their phones. read more

0 STARS is more like it. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! There are 2 whom i got their names & reported to HR (Karol & Sway) who were just BEYOND RUDE to my mother & another elderly lady trying to pick up their medications. My mother couldnt hear what the lady said being shes older theres a glass window & christmas music playing in the back & on top of we are wearing mask so its harder to hear & my mom thought the lady asked for what her name was & my mom stated her name, KAROL said "i didnt ask you that i asked you 3 times whats your birth date" & rolled her damn eyes. They get to pick & choose who they can refuse to fill prescriptions (according to HR they are NOT allowed to refuse no ones perscriptions). One of the other workers stated "they put in notes on peoples files & say come get one of us if they show" 2nd time my mother needed her meds, my boyfriend went to get them the SAME 2 went to the window with an attitude telling my boyfriend they are refusing to fill the perscription so another call to HR they got. Its crazy some people need their medications to survive & for them to refuse someone because they get asked "whats with their attitude" is beyond mind blowing!! read more

Horrible, wasted 2 hours of my time here. They didn't fill my prescription correctly for the annual 365 tablets (this is the cheapest way to get your prescriptions) and then they were giving me guff about my GoodRX coupon since it saved me $800 dollars. They didn't want to honor the price, but they are contractually obligated to do so. Every time I come here, they mess something up and it is a complete waste of time. Once this prescription is filled, I will never waste my time doing business with this pharmacy again. A horribly run pharmacy that doesn't value their customer's time and tries to price-gouge there customers by only filling a 90 day supply of my annual prescription at a time. Never go here if you value your time, money, gas, and sanity. What a joke. read more

This is my first ever yelp review and I'd give ZERO stars!!!. I don't ever do this but after the absolutely horrible and despicable treatment I witnessed while shopping, I felt compelled to say something and this is only one of the many steps I'll be taking. I watched pharmacy personally and a pharmacy MANAGER treat a man like a straight POS and was incredibly racist towards him and belittling. The customer was a sweet nice Mexican gentleman trying to get his medication due to a broken back and he was berated by pharmacy personnel and humiliated in front of many customers. There were many people witnessing the situation. For no reason at all, the pharmacy manager threatened to call the cops on the customer when he did absolutely NOTHING to warrant that. I am beyond digusted with this store. I know it's usually only a few bad apples but NO ONE should get away with treating someone so poorly especially due to a language barrier or the nationality a person is. I simply can't sit by after seeing this up close and not say nor do something. Luckily I spoke to the customer after and it was heartbreaking to see how upset he was visibly in!! Clearly pharmacy staff should clean house! read more

I would give 0 stars, but that is not recognized. Called in my prescriptions. Spoke with someone yesterday. Stood in line today for an hour to be told it would be another hour. But that was actually and hour and 45 minutes. They are understaffed and overburdened. The pharmacist calls out how great it will be when they (she and the staff can go home!). How deeply disrespectful can she be! They need more staff but never seem to understand this. Worst of the worst. I am finally done. Calling my insurance company to see where I can go.... anywhere but here! I see some reviews that are positive, but that was in 2018 and there are always exceptions. read more

This place is worse tha DMV. I had 4 scripts hey said an hour wait. Ok... after 2 hours they had 2 of 4 done. ... they said another hour for the other 2.. hmmm I am so irratated. Do they not get we are ill thats why we are here? So now I get to wait another hour in line to get the last 2. It would be nice if safeway pharmacy would get a clue! read more

Exasperating. They most always never have our meds ready, I had meds that should have started a week prior but they didn't have in stock for a week so yes I had to suffer. They won't let me reorder pills ( non narcotic) a couple of days early but if I wait for them to actually run out then we won't have ANY available because they can't get them ready in time! Their computer phone system is awful. Constantly calling me to say meds are ready then I go to pick up and they don't have them. I have NEVER had so many problems on an almost continual basis. Then for a pharmacist "consult" she reads the same outside label saying, "it may make you dizzy." So I had to wait just for her to READ it to me off of the label?! I don't like to be too negative but I speak out of being in a constant frustrated state of mind when it comes to this pharmacy! read more

It's super convenient to have a pharmacy inside of Safeway. The pharmacy is in the very back of the store. They have very friendly pharmacists which is a plus. However, they close at 7pm during the week. I wish they would be open until 9pm. read more
